Everdell: Farshore - How is it Different?

Look what just washed up. It's Farshore, the next standalone game in the Everdell universe. But what does the game offer that wasn't already in Everdell and it's many expansions. We dive in and try to figure all that out, and share how it's similar...and also what makes it different.

Do you like Everdell? Did you like it so much you bought all the expansions? Did you get a giant box that barely fits on the shelf and you can no longer get it to the table because there's too much stuff and it's too intimidating for your friends and too much effort to separate, set up and teach? Throw it all in the trash and get this new streamlined version! Don't worry, we've planned more expansions to bloat this one too!

It does look nice but I can't justify something so similar. I do like the idea of stacking the meadow/bay cards - I think I'll houserule that

Looks like they took base everdell added a bit of spirecrest (weather & journey) , newleaf (ankers) and pearlbrook (treasure) and streamlined it and addressed complaints about the meadow.

Just house rule the original everdel and you can have the same "new"mechanics like this farshore...

Interesting. Feels a bit like the Tokaido to Namiji shift. I have the Everdell all in so this feels superfluous for me, but I see why people could find this appealing.

Thanks for the video! I was hoping for a totally different game in the universe. While I happily have Agricola and Caverna, I don’t have room anymore for similar-but-tweaked 2.0 games. I am glad for people that have never played to have an easier entry point, though!

Does the map tiles reduce the variability of the game compared to special events in base Everdell?

Insane that this is both basically Everdell 2.0 after releasing a "complete collector's edition" and at an MSRP of $100 lol
