Red Squirrels are Also Called Pine Squirrels | Here's a Look

Red Squirrels and Pines Squirrels...they are the same animal. One name for coloration. One name for preferred habitat.
Here Ryan found a probable squirrel issue at a house surrounded by pine trees. He suspected red squirrels because of this.

just found your channel, and glad I did. You gave me good info on how to deal with a flying squirrel problem I have. Question., I have a lot of tall pine trees that are close to my house as you showed in a previous session. I've been seriously thinking of taking them down to prevent them from gliding onto the house. What's your recommendation?

Trees close to a house is a very personal decision as aesthetics and price of removal come into play. Flying squirrels can be kept out with proper sealing.

Is it possible to only have one red in the attic? Caught one but nothing else has gone near the traps for 4 months now. Found only one small hole under an eave and sealed it. Are we clear or do they live in groups?

Yes, one is possible. Flying squirrels are the only ones that share communally. Most other squirrel types are territorial. Groups are a mother and juveniles. So time of year would come into play
