Goosebumps.... So many Childhood memories, We once got to sit in Imre Varadi's families seats because they couldn't make it, and I was a little lass in the family enclosure and me and me dad got offered his tickets and moved up to the seats. Jackie Milburn was sat along the row from us and me Dad got all excited seeing him, Jackie looked at me and me dad and said, "I was as Popular as Kevin Keegan when I played"... I was about 6 and didnt have a clue who he was!!!!! that was the first time Id sat down at a game!!, didnt like it!!!, I loved been in the stand!

Iam not from the northeast but I reckon that if Newcastle utd won a major trophy you could build Wembley on Tyneside and it wouldn't be bigger enough to accommodate all those fanatical fans up there
Having been a supporter since 1969 I can clearly remember a lot of this stuff. Just wish we'd adopt the catchphrase used by comedy figure THE HARD on the legendary Newcastle based music show THE TUBE - 'FELT NOWT! It would be perfect to chant whenever we lost a game!
The game against spurs 1987 FA Cup 5th round at white heart lane was absolutely mental,it was like a war zone outside after the game.
Proper noise Liverpool lifting the cup to we'll support you ever more NEWCASTLE NEWCASTLE

Same , it was pretty scary! I was only a kid right down the front separated from my dad , if it wasn’t for the man directly behind me braising himself against the fence to protect me from the crowd I’ve no doubt I would have been seriously injured or even killed. It wasn’t just the man behind me loads of blokes were doing the exact same thing protecting the kids in front of them . Plenty of people were shouting at the police asking for help, for the most part they were ignored

Man City had overt 9,000 fans at Barnsley for the 1-0 League Cup defeat when Trevor Aylott scored the winner ... now that really WAS some atmosphere, and more than a bit troublesome afterwards! ..... have been to Newcastle a few times though in the 80's/90's, always enjoyed it, most of them are decent supporters, although they did have a hooligan element in the 70's , the same as most clubs did.
Barnsley is 35 miles from Manchester and 120 from Newcastle, and there's 7k Geordies at Barnsley. We always took 10k to Leeds our nearest club 100 miles, and same to Sheffield. Were you one of the 250 up here when you got beat 5-0 in the old second? I remember in the old second division when we were near bottom and had 6k at Oldham and a City fan said so what we had 7k! I looked up and you're 8 miles from Oldham! Look up our 5-0 defeat at Old Trafford back in the 80's and apparently the biggest away following ever seen at that time! We had 6k at Blackburn on a freezing winter night in a gate of probably 11k for a League Cup game. Manchester, Leeds, Villa all great support, but it's 2 hours before we even get to Leeds! Villa had 1k at Sunderland in the Prem when we had 5k at Coventry for a midweek second division game the same week. That's a big difference in loyalty!

I was born in 1999 so I obviously didn’t live in the 70’s and 80’s but Christ watching this I didn’t realise how great the support was it’s like watching ultras from Turkey😂

Second to none in support ,passion and love of our football club !!! FFW to present day . Never has a community and football club been so deserving of global recognition.. Alreet Marc - on holiday and the girls went to bed ages ago, have been watching videos of aways down the years on the balcony with a few beers over the past couple of hours and finished off with this one before I crash. Some of the best memories of my life being at daft places like Reading and Rotherham with my da when I was a bairn. I haven't watched some of these in ages but they always bring a massive smile to the face. Easily the best channel on UA-cam! Catch you soon man - Gareth.

Support quite incredible over the years , now at times far to nice especially at St James's park ,songs so much better to , I remember in the 80s the media tv companies would always talk n show the support and wow about it like the kop at Anfield , with good reason to The support at Anfield in fa cup 84 is something never to be repeated noise n colour 12 to 14 k ? 3 stands few more in parts ? 90 mins of that match os on UA-cam ,a master piece , 84 at Old Trafford to , 5 1 defeat was it ?Biggest away support for a league game at Old Trafford certainly since that modern stand was built early 70s behind goal, Newcastle fans had nearly half the side aswell wrapped round, not even city or Liverpool had that in 80s 8 or 9 k ? support v Manchester United in fa cup home 90 also incredible , v QPR also home 82 Keegans debut, v Brighton 84 amazing just a few that stick out

It was regular around the country at random times. I recall us singing it after beating Leicester 5-4 in Jan 1990 for example!
