Hello. the only thing that jobs look at when you are applying is the degree and licensure. It is not their job to look at your GPA. They only want you to have a degree from an accredited school and the RN license that you need to pass. it does not matter if you have a c, b, or a average. Some jobs look at whether you have an associates degree or a bachelors for certain positions but not GPA. You have to pass the NCLEX in order to practice as a nurse. Competitive jobs also look at experience rather than GPA. It you are going to a college to advance your degree; they will look at your GPA but not a JOB.
I’m actually subscribed to quite a few new grad nurses whom have said otherwise! Also, I’ve looked at new grad applications and you’d be surprised at how many have a minimum GPA requirement!
Doesn’t gpa matter when applying to nursing school? Cuz it depends on the gpa and the ati teas?
Yes, that’s when applying to nursing school. Afterwards is what we’re referring to :)
@@saunyaewatson you’re right, my job doesn’t hire nurse who’s GPA is lower than 3.4
@Corey Thompson
She’s actually right. I worked in Human Resources at a hospital (without disclosing my location) and you definitely have to bring your transcript (for new grads up to a certain number of years) as well as other required documents. If it’s someone who’s been doing it for over a certain amount of years, they only need to bring their actual Degree along with other required documents. The same goes for new Doctors and other occupations within the Healthcare field. They all have to do the same thing. If I could share “why” it’s important for the company to obtain those records, I would. But due to confidentiality, I can’t. Overall, she was given the correct information by whomever.
I start in August and I am STOKED!
Yay! Congratulations 🤭 You’re gonna love it!
I’m starting nursing school on Tuesday! It’s good to see your perspective and to hear some good reminders! Thank you and you’re going to do great!! 🫶🏼
Yay!! That’s amazing. Thank you for your support! 🫶🏾
update? lol idk if i wanna do nursing or radiology wat u think
I just finished my first semester too! Congrats girlie! I agree it is challenging but not impossible. Side note, omg where is your scrub jacket from?!
Omg Yay, TWINS!!! 🤍 Scrubs and scrub jacket from Mandala!
I'm in my 2nd term now (ECPI does 5 week terms instead of semesters). Everything you've said fits! Insta-subscribed!
Thank you so much! 💗
I am excited for you reaching over 1000 subscribers!!! Congratulations. I am growing my channel and looking forward to reaching that milestone. Thanks for the tips. One thing I can share as an RN is that Jobs care less about your GPA and school you went to. Focus on getting that license and you will get a job.
Thank you!! But actually, the jobs that I want at the specific hospitals on their applications are normally saying at least 3.0 (some 3.2)+ GPA required ☺️ So I’m just going to keep it above that!
@@saunyaewatson Having a 3.0 GPA and above is great to help you get into grad school as well. So I understand their criteria. Wishing you all the best!
Thanks Love ❤ Starting Nursing School in Aug. 😊
Congratulations! Best of luck to you🫶🏾
Thnk you 💪🙌🏾👌🏾☺️☺️
I’m doing my prerequisites right now and while c’s get degrees do c’s get the job the first time around no so. I would say use tools that help you memorize the work you need to pass take it step by step. Me personally writing it down makes it stick better and don’t expect to memorize everything even doctors don’t have everything memorized they occasionally do need a refresh do not be afraid to say I need help and get other students who are feeling a little better about the test and grab someone who isn’t so confident maybe they will know the information you don’t and vice versa. In high school it always helps to find the odd one out and maybe a different explanation helps. My brother learns differently so Sometimes its just your learning style isn’t compatible with standard teaching.
Hi! That’s why I said to still do your best and get higher grades than C’s. Generally jobs are looking for 3.0+ GPA. Thank you for your comment! 😊
Great video❤
Thank you 🫶🏾
I want to be a CRNA so I have to very get good grades. Starting in August .I’m transferring from pharmacy school as an international student so this is very interesting to me lol. Love our videos.🫶🏽
That’s very understandable! I will say I currently follow a now CRNA who got accepted into CRNA school with a 3.2ish GPA. She didn’t have the best grades, but just made sure she didn’t do the bare minimum! Also, thank you for your support💗
Hello Saunya'e, I enjoyed this informative video! You are absolutely right. It's okay not to get an "A" as long as you are doing your best, that is what matters. We work hard in nursing school and we should be proud of what we earn. The most important thing is that we are learning and passing our courses. On another note, where do you get your practice questions from?
Thank you for your support!! I use the practice questions that come with my online software to do my assignments & our textbook 🫶🏾
@@saunyaewatson You're welcome and thank you for replying!
What supplemental material did you use to help you study?
hi , i am currently in nursing school . i will say nursing school is really alot. i would like to know what practice questions helped you during nursing school ( apps or website ).
Yes nursing school can get exhausting
Hello, my name is 'Alando' I'm going in , the field, enjoyed'!, your video was a' big help, i have subscribed(thanks) you are someone i definitely, i enjoy watching the video! Blessings on to you,She your' smart, im coming next. 😮❤🎉
Thank you so much!!!
I have to strive for an A because im an aspiring CRNA and the look at pre nursing science and nursing school grades
and nothing is wrong with that! I follow an aspiring CRNA though who had a 3.2 nursing school gpa and she graduates her CRNA program next month :) Not having all A’s won’t disqualify you from becoming one yourself 💕
@@saunyaewatson 🙏 thank god...I put a lot of pressure on myself
🫶🏾
hi ! i was planning on doing the program and i was confused on one thing, i know it’s not included in the video but can you recommend what i should do if i don’t have a certificate in CPR ? because that’s one of the requirements for the clinic
Usually classes are held all over, I would just google that info and you should be able to find something!
What comes in the nursing kits?
I’m actually not sure what comes in the kit next semester. For this semester, I do show what’s in the kit in my first week in the life video! ❤️
hey, what apps did you use for the NCLEX Style questions?
hey! I use the questions from our textbook for the classes and the software we do our assignments through! It’s called Lipincott +
Okay! Timely response! SUBBED 😅 thank you so much! Look forward to looking at more of your videos!
Period! Thank you for your support 🥰
Starting nursing school. I want to read books , what do you recommend to get a head start?
Hmm, I honestly would recommend enjoying your free time before nursing school 🫶🏾 It gets crazy at first! You can brush up on some A&P/Patho & Pharm!
Im on my pre regs I can do it any tips
Any pre reqs specifically?
Any tips to stay focused doing nursing school from home?
Hey! I actually can’t help with that because I live on campus during the school year😭 To me, it would be challenging to live at home and be in school so I opted to not do it 😅
You have to know your goals and remind yourself why you started this journey. I saw so many students not make it through the program for one reason or another however, I set my eyes on my goals and nothing was going to stop me.
What app do use to edit ?
It’s not an app, I use the Wondershare Filmora software on my laptop!
Nice video
Thank you for the support!! 🫶🏾
Hey hun. Where did u go to get your name on your jacket ?
I went to a local tailor!
@@saunyaewatson thank u so much ! Let me look now
Are you in school to become a LPN or RN ?
Nvm lol
Lol yes, RN!
How do you study?
making a video to answer! stay tuned 💕
Oh Wow , I Hope The Program Was Cheap Because Your Coming Out Of Pocket TOOO MUCH . I Always Tell People To Look Into Whats Include With The Tuition.
Oh yea girl, tuition at UTA is 10-12k or so per year. Very affordable :) Anything I’ve came out of pocket for wasn’t included in my tuition, trust me 😭
Marry me?
