Need to do waaaay more homework before reviewing. The HD AT4 does not have a 2" lift. Only the 1500's do. The torque is 910fp not 950fp. The approach angle, suspension, tires, wheels, rear diff, and off road mode are the exact same as my SLT with the X31 package. The HD AT4 is essentially just an appearance package VS the SLT.
The more I think about it, the more a heavy duty truck makes sense for a family of 4. You can haul a ton of gear, tow an RV or mount a camper with minimal modifications and you can still use it for work during the week.
If you played the beginning of all the at4 reviews on UA-cam, id immediately recognize EPs take. The music and production! Not to mention Brady's radio soft voice.
There is no 2" lift on HD trucks.....rancho twin tubes are horrible No difference between stock and AT4 in height.. AT4 gets you skid plates, hill descent plus interior trim.....thats only difference.......and rancho shocks (I compressed one by hand and blew a seal ) 1500s get 2" lift not the HDs Power wagon has way more to offer for off road....but it can't tow or haul........you get one or the other
So im looking for a new heavy-duty gas truck. I need one for construction, hauling, camping, fishing, dirt roads, grocery trips family trips, ect, ect. Which model would work best for me. Leaning more towards the AT4. Is there a better option for me?
I just ordered a gmc 2500hd At4 gas engine long bed. The reason I got it with a gas engine is because I do not do a lot of towing at all. But I do carry payload about once a week. If you want your bumpers all painted and no chrome, get an at4, if that doesn't bother you, you can get a lower trim.
Sorry to correct you but unless you ordered it “special” from factory it does NOT comes with 2” factory lift. That is true only for the 1500 not for the 2500’s.
@@ExpeditionPortal In the above comment, you mentioned you were going to make a note in the video description that the 2500 AT4 does no come with a 2" lift, but the description has not been updated.
In the middle east people prefer the HD2500 for overland over the 1500 , especially the single cabs , because you haul ton of gear , with a reasonable wheelbase since the terrain is 90% sand the wheelbase isnt a big deal , imagine this a single cab 6.0 engine 6spd with a 4:10 ratio 35inch tires and a 2.5 lift .. thats a pretty capabale truck for touring you just need to learn how to drive a big truck off road learn how the truck works with all the gears and engine power
So many problems with this review. Just a couple. It does not come with a 2" lift, that would be a ford tremor. It only has 910 pounds of torque not 950. Funny to see you bash ford but, the tremor has the 2" lift, has rear lockers, has 1,050 lb-ft. Going on that same trail at that speed, will have no difference In drive ability.
I have to be honest here.... I am shocked that you like this truck so much. IFS, Mechanical G80 Locker, lazy traction control.... This completely goes against the statement you made of the truck having maximum control over any terrain. I've been in both a Power Wagon and the Tremor off road on some gnarly trails and some that were just washboard and was shocked as to how well they rode. I am curious if the testers you experienced from the manufactures were abused and blew out the shock absorbers.
Every model has its strengths and weaknesses. The strength of the 2500HD GMC is the overall ride quality and comfort. When paired with the excellent drivetrain, payload capacity, and towing chops, it is a compelling option for some buyers.
I cringe seeing these full-size trucks for off-road use. They are putting a hurting on our trails. From non tread lightly use, stacking rocks, trying to get boats unstuck…
I got the 2023 version last month! Absolutely love it.
The 1500 AT4 comes with a two-inch factory left. The 2500 AT4 comes at a standard right height, no lift included.

Bingo 👌🏻
Most people don’t even use them for work, lol

HA :) We do have our formula
@@ExpeditionPortal what is the payload on this Tremor, 2600 lbs?
Hey dude, your numbers are incorrect, the HD does NOT have a 2 inch factory lift. The HP is 445, The torque is 910.

We appreciate the correction on the 2" lift. Agreed on the comparison between the Power Wagon and AT4
Power wagon’s are garbage have fun
Sorry if I missed it but did you mention range per tank?

Yeah im not a fan of the chrome bumpers. And I love the red recovery hooks. I work construction so I need payload more then tow.

Mariano, thank you for the correction, and thank you for watching. We will make a note in the description.

Love this truck
The tall frame make's it hard to not hit the ground
What's going on with rear wheel?
910. Not 950. It has the Same as previous gen engine torque.

The payload of the single cab is fantastic. Thank you for the feedback.
How do they perform in the dunes?
@@ExpeditionPortal incredibely well and fun to cruise in the sand

The difference in ride quality and drivability between the AT4 and Tremor is notable and quite remedial to deduce given the suspension architecture.
We also did not bash the Ford. It won our full-size truck of the year award.

Get rid of those silly running boards!!
They were structural metal. I think you might like them in person, and they could easily take minor rock impacts or earthen mounds, etc.
Why? They're useful
