After 17 years of attending many armorer courses (Sig, Glock, S&W, Colt etc…) every instructor has told the class to not use WD40 or brake parts cleaner and if it doesn’t say it’s for firearms use, don’t use it. I’ve been shooting and cleaning guns for 34 years, and I still use WD40 and brake parts cleaner! You post great content, thank you for sharing!

Future idea. A video about quality/ function check on a new rifle. So many new people buy lower priced rifles with poor QC. Go to the range and have issues. Since they are new to the platform they jump on Facebook to figure out what happened which half the time it was bad QC from the manufacturer/assembler. The other half could’ve been found with a standard function check. Sorry for rambling. Thanks for the awesome content. .

Seeing how much WD40 you use, maybe it would be worth buying one of the gallon cans of it, rather than using expensive spray cans

Everyone has there preference for cleaners and lubes. If it works, it dont matter. personally I like all-in-one solutions 'cus thats how us crayon eaters were trained.

Break cleaner eats plastics. I hope it's doesn't eat certain finishes as well.

Wrong. Brake cleaner eats some plastics.
It most certainly does not eat or damaged in any way these nylon based polymers that are used in any and all firearms.

@@OvertonWindex nylon is chemically resistant yes. I worry about things like o rings and plastics on accessories that could be damaged by the break clean. That solution is obvious enough though. Also depending on the formulation of the nylon based polymer it may still compromise it in some way.
However more pressing for me is if you know if this will potentially damage finishes on rifles? You seem to have more experience in this than I do and I find answers on the forums conflicting.
