2:30 - 'Ornaments in Jade' is, perhaps, the single volume of Machen's work to which I most often return. It's a wonderful sampler of his philosophies and prose-style, which can be read either in one, easily manageable, sitting, or else dipped into whenever one has a few moments to spare.
There isn't anyone quite like Machen, but among contemporary writers you might like the work of Mark Valentine, who has similar sensibilities. Personally, I also admire and collect the books of Sarban and Sylvia Townsend Warner, both of who may become the subject of later videos (depending on how long the 'lockdown' continues!)
@@RBRussellTartarus I've never heard of Townsend Warner and Valentine, I will look in to it. Well, i don't want to seems egotistic, but you make me wish for the prolongation of the lockdown, if this means more video...Best regards

Controversially, I prefer Ornaments in Jade (along with Hill of Dreams) to Great God Pan and The White People
Wonderful.
Marvellous collection! Which others writers are you collecting ? And which others writers would you recommanded to Machen enthusiast ?

There is a typo in the description, 'The fofthpart..'.
Thank you - corrected! (I do like digital media--it is so easy to correct.)
Thank you. Do note that “y” Llangybi is pronounced as in “love” not as in “live”.
