I'm very happy I can across your videos. I just got into archery 6 months before I was shipped out of country to a place with no archery outlets anywhere. Your video give me that feeling of being on the range! Keep it up!
Thanks for the review. I'm new to archery and I have an older bow I'm learning with. I'd like to graduate to this bow eventually (I've already starting saving up for it.) Your review definitely showed it's an impressive bow, even if it's not 100% perfect.
Great video as usual man. Always enjoy getting into work and starting my day off with your reviews. Any chance of a Flagship 22/23 "Is the Upgrade Worth It" review?
I shot my first elk last year at 60 yards with a hoyt torrex and a 405 grain arrow. Almost a complete pass through, and didn’t go 20 yards. Like you said, it’s a well placed shot that gets it done
Can you test the bows at a shorter draw length so we can see how they perform and feel at around 27.5 in draw with a 3d arrow 350 gr hunting arrow 450 gr and Ranch fairy arrow 550 gr plus
My reason for comfort over speed is just about exact to yours. … ** I also want to shoot for as long as I can while I age. A bunch of Bow hunters try and over cock themselves to compensate. …Like our ancestors didn’t fill tags with Trad??
I purchased this bow because it was on sale for 900 bucks at Scheels. Would this serve as a good first hunting bow for me or should I return it for something else more forgiving like maybe an AlphaX?
Comfort and stability first. If you go the Africa hunting a rino with a 950 grain arrow.. yeah speed and weight. Most guys that hunt no matter the speed and weight of their bow are shooting the wrong arrows.. you can go though any game with 50 pound weight with the right arrow
Damn! My Ventum Pro 30 is a 29" Draw and set at 80.6lbs...My arrow is a 5mm FMJ at 506 gr. and shoots about 282!! That Z1S must be unbelievable!! Only 70 lbs.???? I should have waited!!! 😒😬😮💨😱😭
Brandon I have something that keeps eating me up. Your omnia shot 300fps and other Omnia speed tests have it barely faster than a phase 4 @500grains and I don't understand it?? Archery talk was another that got excellent speeds from the omnia. I love your reviews because you are real, not biased, not sponsored, have an open mind to all bow makes, and your bow reviews are exactly how I would describe them. Do you have any explanation as to why the omnia speed tests vary so much? It's weird to see some omnia speed test with smoking fast speeds and than others that show it as being mediocre.
Here is what I’ll say I try and do the test the exact same, all I can compare and speak on is our in house test, I will say I think all equipment like a chronograph is faulty at times so all I can do is get the omnia back in here an test again which I will if I come across one again, but I trust our set up and the way we test each bow
@@BackyardBows I back you up on the omnia as mine seems smoking fast compared to my rx4 turbo and its crazy fast compared to my mathew's traverse. I have shot the v3x 29 and phase 4 29 enough to feel they weren't as fast as my omnia with 360g, 390g, 420g, and 470g arrows. I'm saving for my own chronograph so I can test bows as its the only way to answer my questions. I feel influence peddling has done a good job to cut the omnia down. Elite is a small company with bows that are suddenly big contenders and elite upset the norm in the market this year. The era and omnia are absolutely phenomenal bows and I feel a lot of propaganda from mathew's and hoyt especially have done everything to cut elite down. My omnia has been a rock solid bow for around 3400 arrows, cam sync is still the same, peep hasn't moved, I haven't adjusted the set from dead center and still get bullet holes, and the strings are still in really good shape(and my cables don't rub, lucky I guess bc I bought it in early January). The only thing that changed on my omnia was max weight was 72# and it dropped to 70 which is normal. Now my mathew's trashed the zebra strings inside of 500 shots, I had to tophat tune it, and had to buy 2 different draw length modules for +350$(mainly from index to thumb release switch, regardless I can adjust my omnia draw in 5 mins for free). My hoyt carbon bows have been a nightmare to tune both requiring aggressive yoke tunes and a heavy advance on the cams to get proper bullet holes. I shoot fixed blades so proper tuning is essential to me. The aluminum hoyt I had was an excellent bow and maybe that's the safer route to go or maybe the rx7 being an all carbon riser helps, but after waiting 9weeks for simple parts for my rx4 turbo I have no desire to own another hoyt currently. I'm an average joe who shoots bow, no sponsorship and the money tree I planted out back died this year again so I find no value in buying a mathew's or hoyt bow for my personal volume of use. Bow usage has a massive effect on this opinion as a lot of bow hunters buy a bow, sight it in(30-50) arrows, use mechanical broadheads, hunt and then hang the bow for the season only to get a new bow every 1-2 years. I shoot daily and have experienced what happens when a bow actually gets used daily. I shoot a lot trying to become a better archer and to make humane kills, am I an expert archer, absolutely not but I've ridden out some bows to see what their made of which has changed what I want out of a factory bow.
im a really short draw length at 26" im wondering what the difference between vtm and z1s would be for me as with my little draw length i need more speed
Awesome vid, mate, but it's not really a proper comparison when talking about speed compared to VTM 31. The Z1S gives the ability to have better speed in a longer ATA style bow. Not saying the comparison is pointless, but a better speed comparison is with the VTM 34. What I mean by that is, saying you're sacrificing instability for 5fps isn't entirely accurate as a 33in bow is usually going to be a little more stable than a shorter bow as well. Just some things to consider, anyway. I bought the Z1S after owning a 2022 Omen and the Z1S is much nicer to shoot.
Tried to make most of those points, and I compared to the ventum pro 33 also which is the same ata, i would say the omen was one of my fav from pse in the last couple years
@@BackyardBows Definitely, bloke. Many of them are so similar and they are all such solid platforms. The only reason I bring this point up is because you say it's not much faster than the VTM, but the Z1S is IBO of 350fps, where the VTM 34 is 334fps, and VTM 31 is 342fps. So it's significantly faster than the longer bow is all I'm saying. I only draw 28in maximum so I enjoy speed bows at the moment - I got rid of the Omen to get the Z1S. These bows are a great way for someone with a short-to-average draw length to get great speed, without having to go to a shorter ATA bow.
All test are done the exact same, I actually set aside the three arrows I test with, given the a2a length factors in majorly, shorter bows are usually quicker, so comparing to the ventum pro 33 it’s 20 fps faster
@BackyardBows I just watched Mfjj @podium archery review both bows and it was the same results on speed difference as you got pretty much. Thanks for your response and great content. That vtm 31 is a stud. I really like the longer Ata at my 30" draw that's why I chose the z1s.

It would be cool to see a video on the no cam Htr. It was such a unique bow.

That’s a nearly insignificant amount of speed increase from the VTM.
