Bite Sized Oddities - SOO 2010

- Whenever a locomotive falls under ownership of a different railroad, they often get patched or repainted into the new corporate colors. The SOO Line did this with there former Milwaukee Road GP40s, and while most were repainted, one lasted into its "patched" phase until its eventual retirement.
Music used:
Playing with Danger - Team Fortress 2
ALL PHOTOS USED DO NOT BELONG TO ME, THEY BELONG TO THERE RESPECTIVE OWNERS.
That engines a beast, 3 mergers and still the original paint
Was (SHE GONE)
Soo 4448 is a good Odditie as well, cp sent a lot of Soo line GP38-2's to be repainted and to have RC added, SOO 4448 and one more were the only 2 to retain the the soo colors, the other one would later be repainted. Soo 4448 is now the last Active Soo line paint on CPKC.
Soo #4448 and Soo #2010 are locomotives worthy of preservation.
Soo line 4448 is in Chicago doing yard work.
@@Slipperyisimproving2010 is a scrap pile now unfortunately
@@ryanh5406 and now its nose is for sale....
I like when CUP uploads, especially if it’s a Bite Sized Oddities
The GP40 and GP40-2 (especially the dash 2) are my fav Geeps
Now we need a BSO focusing on HKGX 2002 (Thomas the SD38), purely for how it stood out for having a Thomas-styled face on the front nose, making it an unintentional Thomas OC to many Railfans
Sadly, as of today, 2010 has been scrapped where she stood at Pig's Eye Yard
I haven't heard of this thing! Now, I know about MILW/SOO/CP 2010's odd livery: a side from the Milwaukee Road, a front that's almost Soo Line, and a door from the Canadian Pacific Railway!
Thanks for the video!
There's an SW7 in Chemung, IL that's been through 8 different Railroads
technically speaking 2010 isnt the last bandit around WAMX 1598 is still in its orginal MILW paint still in operation on the great northwestern railroad in lewiston idaho
Update: As of 7/2/2024, #2010 was scrapped after sitting in the CPKC deadline in St. Paul for a while.
Don't forget the Milwaukee Road MP15 in Lewiston Idaho
SOO 2010 will be scrapped at St Paul yard along with SOO 4601 no date has been set for scrapping
Wisconsin railfans: HOW ARE YOU NOT REPAINTED!?!?
MLW 2010: I HAVE NO IDEA!
SOO Line #2010 is still wearing it's old Milwaukee Road paint after three mergers. I hope #2010 and #4448 get preserved.
Well today as of june 24th 2024 it is still in Saint Paul Minnesota awaiting its final fate as most of the units are being torched/scrapped right now.
I can tell you right now it’s been torched
Gotta go see this now!
As as June 23rd, 2024, 2010 has been scrapped.
SOO what, just another amazing CUP video!!
Omg my photo made it in!
The most goofy ahh Paint Scheme
It's surreal seeing you talking about a locomotive that, here in the Twin Cities railfanning scene, is a local celebrity for photographers who trek to the Pigs Eye yard to take pics of 2010 while she is still there.
Unfortunately the 2010 is a pile of scrap now
@@ryanh5406 yep
2010 got dragged to St. Paul in early April. The only public road to the yard was closed due to flooding for about a month, so photo opportunities were limited.
It spent most of the summer inside the Pigs Eye shops being stripped of parts, got pulled out in October and sat by the turntable for a week or two before being moved to the deadlines where it remains to this day.
Is it visible from publicly accessible roads today? I drove around pigs eye earlier this summer, didn't see it then.
@@Max-eh8gk It was, as of a few weeks ago. Binoculars are highly recommended.
@@ryanfrogz cool, thanks
So is it gonna get scrapped?
@@lizggil123 2010 is a scrap pile now
Do a video on the BNSF GP50L. It is a modified, one of a kind GP50 with what they call a supercab. BN was the only road to order these and they were built to hold five man crews. It would be great to see a video on this. Only 3 or 4 where ever made and are very rare.
My favorite one style of this unit is
THE MILWAUKEE ROAD
the best vid ever good job cup :)
From what I've heard 2010 is now being striped of any usable parts left on her, no idea on what the plan is from there
It’s scrapped
2010 has actually recently been taken apart recently and is a Donor loco now
Proof?
@@railfandepotproductionsit’s all cut up now
friggin PSR ruining everything
They should give it a repaint into it's bandit scheme again, just for the railfans
Love that lone orange soo loco
2010 was in three mergers and survived but the engine will be sold off
Milwaukee Road!
I'll donate as much as I can
I think you should do a video on the D&H 7304
3 hour anniversary
Let's save it!
She gone
So 2010 is a parts donor loco for anyone wondering
MINI-APPLE- IS (Minneapolis
Actually, 2010 has been sold to a private owner
How do you know this?

She and soo 4601 are still there, you can try and contact museums about both of them before it’s too late.
