      Ya know I said the same thing. But then I thought....my mans can afford one easily if he wanted to do it that way. The One hand way is the "SprayWay". I figured it's what sets him apart and it's kinda his own trademark...or signature style. NOBODY is doing what he doing. Ion know just my thought process. Hope I'm right bout that. I've been looking into this buffing system and I'd like to say after 29 years of hand blocking a all over paint job from roof to rocker with 800 stepped to 2000 then spending 3 days DAing it with 3000 and buffing it and praying to god that the swirls are going to be gone you have sold me and I'm a believer now. The next one will be color sanded and buffed with this system! Thanks for your videos bud, I been doing custom painting and building cars in South Georgia for almost 30 years and it's good to see someone being appreciated for what's involved!

    I recommend 3D ACA 500 X-TRA CUT COMPOUND. You can team it up with a Meguiar’s Microfiber pad, Wool pad or a course Foam pad. With this compound
    only one pass will be necessary instead of two with Rupes compound. The best advantage about 3D 500 X-TRA is no more DUSTING !!

From the cars themselves to the opening and ending music you choose for the videos. You sir are a little known National Treasure and folks need to get familiar. Keep applying that pressure and squeeze every ounce of what you want out of life like you do the paint out of them Sata Jets!!!

    I don’t know I think rotary is still faster than rupes .
    I have done so many black cars and always end up coming to the conclusion that it simply takes a lot of time and patience..Time and more time lol.I use Glasurit clear coat and it is always on the soft side even after sitting for weeks . .I think you know exactly what I am talking about ..I did the same thing as you and bought all the Rupes machines and pads . I am back to rotary and actually just finished a Black Mustang… my conclusion after 30 years of painting is the man behind the machine makes the biggest difference not the tools used . Thanks for the video brother and keep working hard man.Ain’t easy !!

    I had a problem after wet sanding with the DA where you could see fine scratches from the motion of the oscillation of the DA. Even after buffing and I would have to go back and wet sand by hand to get them out. Come to find out the velcro on the backing pad was to rough for wet sand and I had to get a backing pad specific for wet sanding. Great job on the stang as usual. Can't wait to see it all together.

    • @SprayWayCustoms
      @SprayWayCustoms  3 роки тому +1

      You correct because I had the same problem before...sometimes it just pays to hand sand because all the work trying to get those pig tails out....I was like I should've just blocked it from the jump....most definitely gotta use the correct tools for the job.

    Cool video. I work for Meguiar’s. I thought i would share a couple things, not trying to tell you what to do or anything but i noticed i couple things you might consider for next time. When it comes to sandpaper, there are huge differences in technology, would recommend checking out 3M Trizact & other, the foam backed disc will make a much more even sanding mark wish will be way easier to remove, they are expensive but time is money. Also on our microfiber pad i didn’t catch if you did in video but you want to make sure you fully prime the disc with compound;every little microfiber should have compound or else it is not going to cut consistently. Once primed just 3-4 drops is good. Also i think you can slow how fast you are moving your arm on the Rupes 15, arm speed looked a little fast for trying to cut so much. Again not trying to tell you what to do it looks good but check it out

    I gotta say thank you for this! I just sprayed my car (first time painting) and I was left with some less than desirable results. Including some terrible orange peel. For a first time, in a garage, without the correct tools; it came out decent. I stumbled upon this in searching for something to teach me how to cut and buff (already been wet sanding the car and it lost it's shine. I freaked out mildly until talking with some friends and realizing I needed to buff and polish to get that shine back. I'm excited to try later today to bring that shine back after learning based on this video. Thanks!

    When I sand clear coat I start with 1500 grit dry on my DA with soft pad then I'll use 2000 grit dry then 3000 wet sand to a sheen shin then buff. For me the process I use works great and is faster than using water because the clear acts like a guide coat with no water
