Harimoto is definitely the most skillful player at his age, but if he keeps the expectations and not staying humble before the comps, he will never surpass other great players

Finally, An did a lot of good short balls, sometimes followed by a deep ball, and Harimoto lifted those off the end of the table. Being able to respond well to Harimoto's serve without giving up an easy Harimoto put-away is key, and An had the key.

I do find myself a little bit confused among all of these comments dealing with everything but the quality of play displayed by An Jaeyun. That guy is a threat though

Why do many unexpected events occur in this WTTC especially Fan, Harimoto and Xu.Persnally I want winning of Lin Gaoyuan cause he missed too much chances to win the Gold.
When you've only watched the recent 6 or 7 World Championships, you've been too used to predictable events happening. If you watched the 2003 WTTC, the number of upsets now are nothing compared to then. Also, the WTTC and the Olympics are two events where mental strength and the ability to fight back nerves matter the most.

Before you become world champion, you have to behave like a world champion first. We have heard Harimoto screaming for two years now, it obviously doesn't pay off and crowd love to see him lose, it costs a lot of energy as well. I think it's time Harimoto should change his attitude. What I don't understand is why his father and coach teach him this mental part of the came. Ma Long, Wang Hao, and especially Wang Liqin had class and charms of a world champion. Not to forget, Harimoto is a full blood Chinese. I feel sorry for him to see him cry, after all he is just 15.
Well said. He is just fifteen and playing unbelievable outstanding table tennis. His absolutely annoying shouting and yelling may be a sign of pressure but I do not understand why the grownups around him don't show him another way to mental strength and sportsmanship. However, he is very young and will possibly learn it later on his own. Good luck.

Harimoto's mother played for the Chinese national team by the way. Harimoto is naturalized in 2014, he was 11 at that time. So for me he is a Chinese who plays for Japan. At least this is my opinion.
If he had participated on World Junior Championship it means he can beat players outside top 20. Let's him prove himself when he meets a Chinese player.
Harimoto made many mistakes in this match, but a good performance from An! It's very interesting to see that An's receive on serve seems a bit unstable, but still somehow managed to get scores
