Alex. I really enjoy watching Your videos. But on Your head keeps didn't keep a lot of You know what. But they're good as long as they sponsor the vids. I face the same and take a few nutricial additives. L-Arginin works well, and it is natural.
M1 LM look and performance with a full interior because i need a/c!!😂 Great job on the interior, agitating the carpet also gives it a more natural feel as well. Next up cigarette burn repair, it's really fun fixing burns.
Is there a way to restore the leather without it becoming shiny? New leather in my BMWs have never had a sheen which looks worn and greasy with this Clydes.
Weather strip!
How does the Clyde’s hold up against leather cleaners?
DUUUUUDE! Take those carpets out and pressure wash them! Been doing this for 30 years and it really gets the carpets clean deep down.
Yep
Would a good shampoo and extraction so the same?
@@scott4036 No, there is no comparison to high pressure agitation from one side and then the other. Also, you can scrub it without the fear or thought that you are pushing the stain deeper into the fabric.
Agree Here but I would remove all painting from that interior same way.
@@jaroslawzmuda8963 Yeah I agree, that interior needs colourlock!
Since the original intent of this car was, “cheap car that could be fixed on a budget and sold for a profit,” I think you absolutely hit it out of the park on this interior restoration. Cheap, looks 1000x better, and at the end of the day, greatly increased the value and appeal of this car. Great video as always, keep that BMW content coming! 🤙🏻
That interior could only be described as a “hot mess” - well done on this revival/exorcism that you did! Truly commendable and I tip my hat to you Sir!
"exorcism" is the right word, the difference is mind blowing.
Alex the builder
I tell you my eyes were twitching at the start 😀
Another tip: steaming creased up leather will make it pop back to shape. Start by laying a heavily damp towel-nearly dripping-and using an iron to steam the leather. Should restore the wrinkles and creases to straight brand new
Clothes iron?
@@charitho1 well, probably not a 7 iron.
@@simonbailey2151 HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAH
@@simonbailey2151 haahaahaa
I was with you up to the carpets and seat belts. The trim and seats look great, but the belts and carpet are just not it, especially the belts
good excuse to buy an extractor, would really help with those carpets
You may be surprised to find that glass cleaner that comes in those cylindrical paint can style containers and spray in almost a foam-like method are incredible for cloth restoration. It also works well on hard plastic. If you saw the 2002 Corolla I restored, I only used Safelite auto glass cleaner, a thick bristle brush to break up the dirt in the seats and soft brush and microfiber towels to handle plastic as not to scratch anything. Unreal results
Can confirm, I use Sprayway myself.
Sprayway and Simple Green baybeeeeeee
@@FunnyLariat what ratio of water to simple green do you use or do you just buy the pre-diluted stuff?
As a mechanic I can confirm we use glass cleaner on everything. If we accidentally leave a black finger print anywhere, the first thing we go for is glass cleaner at my shop.
I use glad cleaner to clean vinyl and larger furniture as well as any hard surface. Works wonderfully and leaves no smudges
Alex that interior looks absolutely AMAZING!!! Great work, I know you have a TON of time invested, but for under 3 grand??? You have a gold mine in your garage at car prices today, and I'm sure you're not going to take 'advantage' of the next owner, I'd be PROUD to buy one of your projects!! GREAT work man.. thank you for keeping UA-cam worth watching!!
As he stated in the series though he doesn’t include his time in the value. So when he goes to sell that’s where the money should be made for his time
@@Wrencheasy true.. too bad I'm not getting that sweet time money, my wife's honda timing belt went while driving, rebuilding heads for free this week..
@@anthonyblacker8471 That's why I'll never buy a car with belt driven timing! My 04 Chevy Avalanche has 237k on it and going strong with original timing chains Lol. Just gotta keep up with oil changes
@@UA-camr1g Fun for me, it turns out the belt went because one of the cam bearings (sohc) wiped, stressed the pulley i'm sure and killed the belt.. Fun times, thank goodness for Ebay and people who sell odd things like right cyl head camshafts. .haha
Love the DIY work. One thing i will mention, as a detailer i would caution you in using harsh chemicals on seatbelts as they may weaken the fibers and cause premature failure in the event that God forbid someone needs the seatbelt to work properly.
Larry from Ammo should do a reaction video to this. Curious to hear how he would have done it and how well he thinks this will hold up. Looks way better, so great job!
Alex, thanks a bunch for the Clydes leather balm. That stuff legitimately worked in my 2004 Z4 3.0i project. Saved me from having to spend more money on additional interior salvage parts.
Just tried it as well and it was horible just left a blotchy mess maybe it works better with dark interiors by in my beige one I had to completely remove it
@@Thanos.m they have different colors...
I love watching your work on BMWs and other euro cars. I feel like your appreciation for them shines through, and the effort and care really make a difference. For the price you put in to this, I feel like this looks outstanding. A few things could have been done differently, sure, but you’d be shelling out more cash.
Overall, thank you for what you do! I’ve loved every minute of this restoration; and the Alpina B7!
Great job on the seats. Carpet not so much. However, I realize it's a video about doing it on a budget. For that I say Bravo!
You might want to put another coat of dye on the rear seatbelts, they still look a bit blotchy.
Or dye them completely black, that would look good against the sand beige seats.
Blows my mind that people can look at a factory beige interior and think I’m gonna paint that 🙉 well done Alex, good job at having the patience to tackle this.
That two-toneing of the light tan with the brown looks spectacular. BMW should have offered it. Just spectacular.
Incredible interior restoration, seriously, it's mind blowing ! One of your best video series, for sure, very useful tricks for anyone who wants to restore an interior. This is exactly why it's one of my favorite channel.
That seat restoration was absolutely incredible. I can believe how good the interior looks right now with the restored trims, great job Alex !
It is extremely satisfying to watch you bring her back.
I like that all your interior clean and paint instructions are easy and cheap. Just what you need when flipping.
Whoever gets this car is going to be more than pleased with what you've done to restore it. Your attention to detail makes your videos so educational and fun to watch. Keep 'em coming, Alex!!
Alex, what a great transformation. You have a right to be proud of the job you’ve done. I love these type of vlogs. Keep them coming. I enjoy your channel very much. Thanks
I really enjoy your videos, you're an excellent instructor, giving detailed easy to understand tutorials!!! This BMW came out great!!! 👍👍
I know I am 4 months late in this series but I'm blown away. I started with your seats videos and have got to this one.
I am looking for a stick shift to teach my teens and I wish I could buy this from you. A v8 and BMW brand are a little much for teaching, but the age & life this car has had is right what I was hoping for. Can't wait to see the next video!
What i love about this build is the big amount of : ''you can this for $50 bucks, and that for $15'', overall it cost 100$, etc...''. This is a realistic build yet properly done with a lot of details and advices.
What an incredible and amazing job you've done with the interior of this car! My goodness! What a transformation, and for the couple a hundred dollars it cost you, is very impressive! Great job!
It’s hard to believe the transformation of the interior! It looks amazing! I know you put a lot of elbow grease into it but I think it looks almost better than new! I can’t wait to see this car when it’s finished! Great job! Thanks!
Really fantastic transformation Alex. I wasn't convinced when you started spraying the carpet but the end result is very very good.
I don't comment a lot but I absolutely love your content. It's only gotten better since you started doing it full time. You're doing stuff no one else is doing and making it look easy.
I finished watching the video yesterday morning and the interior looks amazing. I really like the two tone look. I did not realize exactly why until I hopped in my Excursion last night and did a double take. My seats are a light tan leather with a chocolate carpet and two tone tan and brown trim on the dash and doors. I even have the wood accents in the door panels. I sat there for a minute and laughed.
Wow. Very impressed. Carpet scared me at first but after completely assembled it looks fine. Great job!! Absolutely swear by the Avolonking. I use it on everything. Thanks for heads up on Clyde’s leather products. Will be getting that conditioner for sure💪
Mr. Legit....gotta say I really enjoy your videos.Your a people's person and the video presentations illustrates that.Thank you!!!
Just finished up Speed Academy, BMW M5 Build Part 6. And more interior content. My day is made♥️
Alex you make everything seem very achievable! with your approach and teaching methods in your video.. I'm watching very closely as I recently lost 2 cars due to a storm last September in New York ...car is looking great and I'm tuned in for sure!!
No hyperbole on your part, it was a strong transformation. Thanks for showing us how you got these great results! I think you can't help yourself you just do great work. Makes me wonder what would happen if I drove my 90s Acura there, parked it in front of your shop and let the air out of a tire. hahaha
Based on your demo of Clyde's I'm gonna get some from the link and try it on the Acura, thanks!
I love that you showed putting the front seats in through the back doors. So many people would not consider that.
I like your videos because you're a very humble guy and it makes your knowledge easy to take in....great job....wish you only the best...Cheers!
I like the seat trim contrast but it looks like you didn't match/redo the door trim to the same darker brown. That would've made it even better
It looks great Alex! Well done mate. Those BMW seat bases are almost identical to my 2006 Range Rover 4.2 Supercharged Overfinch and I think they would go straight into my car although the rails probably are different. Your seat restoration is stunning, and I can't believe how well the grotty carpet came out. Now is the time for a re spray on the outside! Keep the brilliant videos coming Alex! Cheers from the UK
Thank you for the detailing. It’s really great to see a professional at it.
I really like the 320 from like 20 years ago. The boxy one. 6 cilinder automatic. They made em in 1984 till late 90?
Since then cars got too complicated. I hate opening a hood and see like 60% of excess parts. A 150 pk car is more than enough.
...14:30 , wrap that plastic door trims with selfadhesive carpet and that bottom B pillar with some selfadhesive alcantara.
Easy and looks really good.
Absolutely transformed! Truly inspiring to watch this. Love the channel!
Wow, another homerun with this resto Alex! My dream BMW is a E39 M3 in manual, of course. But I wouldn't mind a 540 or 550i manual too. Your dye job makes me want to do the same but with the chili or cinnamon red color. Can't wait dor the exterior refinish video
Nice job, Alex! What a transformation! This reminds me of some of Weird Beard's flip job transformations.
I have been watching your videos for a while now but this is the most satisfying one i have seen yet. I have a 1993 318iS BMW with gray leather interior and covered it with black cloth cause it was all messed up but am going to order some of the Clyde products and see ho it will turn out.....otherwise that interior looks magnificent! Great job
Hey Alex you put in some serious time fantastic job great tip blowing the steam through the vents thanks buddy
Excellent restoration. I have a 98 740 IL with the same interior. I was really going to send it out for a full detail and new carpet but now I feel I can do it myself. And create plenty of content while doing it. 👌🏾👌🏾
I love Clyde’s, I’ve been using it in my daily’s and my exotic’s for years. I love the content friend very therapeutic. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next!!! Boggles and Boggles!!!
What an excellent example of what is possible. That interior looks incredible!
Came out looking great. The color combo with the green is 🔥
Really like the budget builds and very helpful thanks for the channel.
The leather seats look amazing! I like the two-tine as well. Only question I had on what you did, possibly missed it, what did you do to repaint the dark brown parts on the center console and bottom parts of the dash? Also, time to purchase a carpet cleaner with the spray and wet vacuum suction. It makes cleaning carpets soooo much easer and it pulls almost all of the moisture out of them. Again, looks great!
Absolutely my new fav diy car guy gave me the confidence to purchase BMWs and Mercedes and to work on them myself true inspiration…thank you and keep up the good work!
Looks like brand new! Well done ! Love your flip-cars series !
Superb stuff. This is high level work made to look easy.
Another great item for scrubbing interior are sergerical scrubbers. Should give them a shot sometime you'd be surprised on what they can do. Also absolutely amazing at cleaning parts in the part cleaner.
Alex, you have over 700k subscribers now! That is so amazing. Thank you for all of the great automotive content that you put out. It keeps me well informed and well entertained. :)
Nice work Alex. Not quite convinced by the evenness of the seat belt dye, but the rest is brilliant. Kudos
Great job Alex, a little passion and effort goes a long way.
What a phenomenal job you did, WoW! I love how it turned out.
I really like how you go the extra mile to make something as good as it can be, without emptying your wallet in the process, nor worrying about spending more time & energy to get the result
Very cool episode! I'm gonna get myself a steam cleaner, it works really well. The car is looking SO much better now.
First Sreten posts a new e39 vodeo and now you! My cup runneth over.
Top tip for the red seat belt buckle buttons: gently heat them with a heat gun, takes out the crazing instantly.
Nice S4 recaros. That Nogaro blue with the black leather recato interior was the best.
Night and day difference in those seats and carpet, looks amazing!!!!
Amazing job, Alex! Congrats!
GREAT job. Cant belive the result. Thanks for the videos. Love from Denmark
Awesome video Alex, the E39 interior looks great!
Mate, what a transformation. Very well done on an interior that looked beyond saving.
OMG Whomever is blessed to get this Beamer! Is going to enjoy and appreciate it just wish I could fix my truck I'm going to try the tough stuff on my leather seats but I really need to get this transmission sorted out! It's an 06 Ford Explorer apparently with a switched-out transmission it was used now at least real hard shift at 3rd! And loss of power 😒 I love watching how much love you put in to all the cars!! Blessings love B,🐸
Looks Perfect!
Happy LegitStreetCars Thursday! 🙌
Incredible job Alex, looks beautiful now, I agree with keeping the two tone going, Rj in Oz
Amazing the 2 tone seats.
Lovely job.
Going to put Clyde's on my shopping list. Truly looks like a great product.
Wow that came out amazing. And that two tone just wow I love it.
It looks amazing! That two tone is wicked!
Absolutely smashed it mate well done buddy
Fantastic sir. I love the Beige/Brown mix.
Educated me a lot of what really could be done to an interior all I can say is it's absolutely fantastic
The interior looks great Alex! Nice job!
While I don't really like the interior colours, I can appreciate that it looks 10x better than before you started 😁
Incredible work Alex as always
At first I was so mad about the carpeting. Just replace it! And the seatbelts too! But I am sold. For the minimal investment it looks amazing and beautiful floor mats will make it even better. Looks great.
Wow, what a transformation Alex!!!
I don't really have a dream BMW although I love the E60 M5. I just wish it didn't come with so many potentially expensive issues and there aren't many out there anymore that have seen zero of the common issues
If you have the money to get the issues fixed before they cause serious damage, they can be an awesome driving car.
The sport package manual V8 cars are amazing too.. and muuuuch cheaper.
I’m stuck between the E39 M5 or the E60 M5 I love both the body styles my first car was a E60 528XI drove it to 202000 miles and it still ran like a champ I traded it for a 2003 E39 540i with only 105k miles
@@spicysnowman8886 I'm saving up for a pickup but maybe some day I'll make it into a euro sports car
Thst diffrence was unreal! You did a really great job :😁
I’ve been using Tuff Stuff since the early 90’s. My favorite interior cleaner by far. It’ll even get gum out of carpet
I usually remove the carpet and hang it, or drape it over saw horses and power wash. Bonus is I've found a couple wedding bands underneath, mostly under console area
This was very very satisfying to see and I am going to use a lot of the things you did in my own car to keep it in mint form going forward thank you Alex big love ❤️
That interior came out great. It’s totally custom, but looks factory. The new owner will have a totally sorted custom classic. I hope who ever you sell it to is an appreciative enthusiast.
Not keen on the whole brown idea but those seats came out beautifully! Love that combo of the cream leather and deep green exterior, very classy 90's retro, you don't see that combo on modern cars at all. I will check out those leather products, the seats in my E60 could do with a bit of love and if they worked on THOSE seats then they should have mine looking factory fresh!
Great results Alex especially for the money spent
Stunning improvements!!
Good to see you still wear your Vessi's. Great shoes, I love mine.
Alex is like the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit photographer of European cars, take a beautiful car and make it look sexy lol
Alex, this was a more than impressive transformation. Most of us viewers are or should be capable of duplicating this to some degree. Finding and recognizing the underlying beauty of the car is not something everyone can do. The mechanical transformations you have come up with I find very interesting, but the visual transformation here is a bit magical.
BMW E39 Vape edition.... love it.....I've done that to my car and it got a smell out that I was masking for a while (I always run my A/C, even in winter and it smelled a bit meh) thanks Alex
This was Amazing Alex!
Amazing transformation my man!
This is just amazing! Great job
