Quick video of the hours of work that went into restoring the 912 floor pans. The interior looks 100 times better and I hope someone can learn something from the whole process.
Be sure to check out the other videos for more in depth details about how they went from rusty and crusty to like new!

Any recommendation for if you were to do it again? What products did you like or dislike? I’m about to do almost exactly this job on my 71’ 911

Take lots of photos and videos so you can look back on any fitment questions and bag/label. Don’t buy any drill bit style wire brush attachments, only get grinder attachments since the OEM glue/sound deadening is tough and messy. I researched most the stuff I used since others used it on resto projects as well. A good rust prevention coating goes a long way and make sure you take your time with all the prep before you prime and coat it. If you are re-using the old carpets, removing the old glue with a wire brush is the best way but will take lots of effort - this is why most just buy new carpet kits, which are expensive. I would also send out the seats to get completely redone if the cost was decent. Not much I would do different and most of the products were proven to work decent before me. Let me know if you have any other questions! Good luck ✊🏼

Just before six minutes, it looks like you use some kind of heavy duty liner rolled onto the existing steel on the body base, but then you spray paint on the new replacement steel. Why is that?

I used a seam sealer for all the new panel seams, then I used a rust prohibitor on the new replacement steel. I spray painted the bottom exterior with undercoating to protect it from the environment and years of future use. Once the whole new pan was coated, I applied sound deadening (aluminum color) before putting carpet padding on top of that. I wanted to make sure it would last a while and be a little better than factory. Hope this helps! Thanks

Appreciate the honesty. Any suggestion for other types of music for the time lapse?

@@SuperishMario: You're welcome, - and just the sound of the tools, - NO music !

@@Mr.-Wint I have done that in past videos, but with the nature of this one - it would sound pretty messy with everything sped up. Check out the original in depth videos, those should have better sound. Thanks for the suggestion - will keep in mind!
