Padme, your amazing! Wanted to say well done for everything you've done for the modding community of this game! You helped me back when I started modding the game. And I also wanna say thank you! 🙌🏻 Im redownloading the game to test out this toolkit 😁
Hey. Great video! Could someone use this tool to create a completely invisible main character? Im looking to create a bit of content and that would really help me out with it.
Interesting, thank you for the guide! So would this also enable us to change the default appearances used for Disguise Self? If so then I am extremely interested in experimenting with the toolkit to do this!
hey love the tutorial, one thing i noticed is that even tho i changed the appearence of default human, when i transform into it with disguise self it has the old portrait, and ideas ?
Hey Padme, tried following along with the tattoo part but I seem to be running into an issue, The tattoo I want to use is number 25 on the CC menu and I found that this tattoo is located under index number 4 but is in the third intensity box along by putting the first one to 0 and the third to 1 I get the tattoo that I want. It uses a different colour parameter "TattooColorB". My problem is that even though I've made these changes to my preset when I load them up into the game they appear with the first intensity box tattoo under index 4 and with the default greenish color. I've been bashing my head against the toolkit for ages but nothing seems to get it to use the tattoo I want
@unizbish6730 sorry I completely blanked on the issue with these, we had same issue before toolkit. I will try looking into it and make a mini vid just on tattoos for these files
@@Padme4000 So, you could swap out eyes or noses to make a new face without having to got into Blender or something similar? Very interesting. I'd love to learn how to make my own faces and hair. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!
@katesmith4787 hi, sadly not in that way, mostly that you can use haird for NPCs that are not in Character creation. However, swapping materials (though can cause seams on back of ears) can change how someone looks a bit.
Hi! Sorry but I have a question not about presets, I just created a custom head, but when I imported everything in Baldur’s Gate 3 toolkit and run a game for test my modded head is just floating and flying behind the body, I’m a completely new to this thing so I don’t even know where is the root of the problem, maybe you can help me, or is there any video tutorial for that? And thank you for your videos!
Hello Padme, apologies if this isn't the right place to ask but I have a question about making hair colours. When making a colour, one of the parameters is "HueShiftColourWeight". I've been messing around with this value, but I can't see what it does or changes. Do you know what this parameter does?
I've never really known what it does, but if you check my dragonborn colour mod it shows how I go about testing colours on CVs to see edits live. I will also be doing a separate hair/eye/cc colour video hopefully this coming weekend or the week after. But the dragonborn skin one should give a rough idea
Hi sorry I haven't gotten this myself, I would suggest verifying your files from the DLC, or trying to redownload the DLC files in case some weren't downloaded.
Thank you for the in depth video. Could you please make a video on how to change the appearance of origin/npc characters with hair/skin/body texture/eyes/race etc from other mods? Something like the appearance edit enhanced mod already does but for NPCs. I want to learn how to do it through the modding tools and can't seem to figure out how. I'm completely new to creating mods.
@@Padme4000 The Disguise Self appearance are the default appearance, so editing them like in your mod works for both the CC default Tav appearance and the Disguise Self. 2 exceptions I found (for the female 1 body, didn't try others) were for Tiefling and Halfling, which use a different charactervisuals for the CC default and the Disguise Self use. On another note, how do you use non-vanilla assets for the mod we want to make? I understand it would bring dependencies, but let's say I want to use a hairstyle from Tav Hair Salon mod for my default Tav Human appearance, how would I do that?
@daedalron thank you for the explanation. So if you add a mod as a dependency the hair in this case should show as a selection, in the same window if it follows the vanilla naming conventions. If not you want to add them to the filter, next to the base name.
@@Padme4000 I was able to do the edits and it works for the Disguise Self spell. Only issue I am left with is that the portraits still use the original model, not the edited one. For a Tav, it's not a problem since portrait is created at game start, but it isn't the same for the portraits used for the Disguise self. I saw there were other models with clothes corresponding to the portraits, so I edited those, but it doesn't edit the portraits (I assume the models were used to render the portraits as images, so just editing the models doesn't change the already rendered portrait). Is there a way you know of to rerender the portraits in the created mod?
[EDIT/corrected] Question : the Toolkit is using nearly 90% of the memory. Is there a trick to lower how much is loaded or used in the Toolkit? The question is not very relevant to you, now that I realize it is using about 60% as we can see here.
@Baraz_Red I didn't do anything to lower it. I do have 32 gb ram and pc parts to help 3d modelling/rendering since it is resource heavy. so those parts might be playing a part.
@@Padme4000Mind you, my issues may not be memory related. I have UI issue ONLY, oddly, with the BG3 Toolkit and the BG3 Modding Multitool... For example, search bars go black and the panels/windows do not refresh unless I reset the window.
@MaxStoryTeller92 Yes, we can import our custom head meshes into the toolkit. This tutorial by undefinedscribble covers the process in the toolkit ua-cam.com/video/40GnRNjWXng/v-deo.html
@MaxStoryTeller92 If they are assets from the game you've altered or ones made from scratch, you are fine using them in the toolkit as that video shows. I wouldn't be able to tell you what is and what isn't allowed on console as I am not sure myself
Hi, sadly not something I can fix really on my end, as we don't know what 100% is the cause, which makes finding a fix sadly hard. As going off another head mod that has had some PS5 users running into same issue, we think it seems to be size and internet related. Some have fixed it by switching to ethernet cable, some have fixed it by using a hotspot. Which does to me suggest it is something to do with connection, but sadly we don't know why.
@@HeatherElliott-ql1bf Sadly not something I can fix. It has to be fixed on what I assume is mod.io's end. My mod adds the heads as unique assets, as well as their materials and textures so other mods editing the NPCs won't affect the Tav/Dreamer use of the heads. Which is what the difference between my mod and the other mod could be, file size wise.
