Nothing is as cheap as it used to be, it's known as inflation. In Canada an SKS costs the same in gold as it cost 10 or 20 years ago. They are such a bargain that I just bought three more.

You can still find them for around 400 from private sellers, nothing fancy. I would consider that much on a rifle entry level.
