Thanks for this comprehensive review which was exactly what I was looking for to help finalise our decision on the razor R2. Original was a gorgeous bonus in the video. We fully enjoyed your river paddle too.
I'm really pleased that you found the review helpful! I'm having withdrawal symptoms, lol, so planning on an autumn paddle in the next couple of days. Oti really is a great companion 😊 Happy paddling!
Thank you for your review, our R2 delivered today, for use on our local canal and river which are almost on our doorstep, but also easy to pop in car and take to seaside this summer. As a slightly older lady I was worried about kayaking but you have inspired me to go for it. 😊
Thanks a lot for your wonderful review. The scenes in this video are exactly what I am after - peace, nature, sun, and a nice destress after a busy week. I really enjoyed watching this!
Hi, My wife and I are planning on buying the R2 Razor, as its length of 14 ft seems ideal for both us, and Eddie our Border Collie. However, before taking the plunge, I would like your opinion on whether Eddie @ 20 kg would have enough space whilst sitting between the legs of the front seat paddler. At present, we are using our Bluefin Ranger kayak, which is a great Kayak by the way, but at 11 ft 6 is a little tight for our beloved mutt!.😀 PS Eddie boy hates sitting between us in the rear, as he likes to see where he is going. lol .. Many thanks
I think he would have enough space - Oti is 20kg, and although my seat is set back I think there would still be plenty of room. One of the great things about Razor is that they let you try it inside and return if not right for you, so always an option? (Obviously don't put dog in, lol, but can see the size for yourself 😁).
A lovely informative and unbiased review ........ thank you for posting this. We have been looking at the Tomahawk C 478 but I have always fancied this one. Just gotta commit now!
What a great review. We have found your video in our search for inflatable kayak reviews and this video is one of the best. The Razor R2 may well be the one for us, though we are still mulling it over. Originally our plan was for a solid canoe but lifting it onto a car roof and storage space at home have made us reconsider. That and our ages - not as young as we were 😂. So stability is important to us and something that we can travel with and the Rqzor looks stable. We live in the Norfolk Broads area so have lots of waterways to explore - just need to ‘take the plunge’ and decide on which boat. Love your duck dog Oti. Have subscribed so we can keep up with your adventures.
I'm really glad you enjoyed the review! The Norfolk broads, what a wonderful place to have a kayak, I'm a bit jealous ☺️ Have fun with whatever you go for, and thank you for subscribing, lots more adventures planned!
Hi! I've actually swapped the seat, to one with a raised base then now a bluefin which has an inflatable seat. It's the only weaker point that I found with the R2 🙂
Fantastic review and video, thank you for making it. Watched on the web so jumped over to the UA-cam app to leave a comment. This is likely to convince us to buy, so much better than their own videos, they should give you a commission!
I'm really glad that it helped you! Thank you for commenting on here, it's much appreciated. I love mine, dying to get back out next week as we have some better weather 🙂 The company have been great, they've given me a couple of dry bags for the camping adventures we have planned next ☺️
@@OtiAdventureToller thanks! I should also add that I think you're very inspiring with your determination to get out and live well. I'm in better health than you but grapple with states of mind that get in my way sometimes and your video was just one long smile for me. Already planning adventures with my wife. All the best from Australia.
Hi. I'm just looking at different options for inflatable kayaks and have come across your review of the Razor. So far, the Itiwit X100 seemed the best option. Would you say that this Razor is worth the extra money? I'm a beginner, so stability is a big plus, but I also have lower back problems, so a high back comfortable seat is a major factor. I'd also like one that was easy to paddle and manoeuvre. I'm only looking to paddle on canals, rivers, and lakes, so I'm not looking for speed, but some 'momentum' would be welcome. Any advice would be very welcome. 😊
Hi! So far, I'm definitely thinking it's worth the extra money. A lot of that though is the frequency with which I use it.... The seats don't suit me and I knew they wouldn't - I've just had one arrive from Bluefin with a lovely high back that I'll be trying out this week. In about a week I'll be doing an update review, after a few longer paddles and trying different seats - I hope that may help you? Unfortunately work has got in the way and days getting shorter, so haven't been out as much as I'd like!
Hi, thank you 🙂 Ultimately it came down to weight and price. I loved the Chelan, was just deciding to buy it and saw the size of bag it came in. At 5'5" I couldn't get it on my back, let alone carry it half a mile to water! The lighter version was amazing, but twice the price and I just couldn't justify that 🙂
I’ve just purchased the R 1 , it was with me within 3 days of purchase but haven’t had chance to take it out, probably be next week now but looking forward to it
What a fantastic review and video. I have been looking at inflatable kayaks (either from the Razor or Oz Inflatables which is another Australian brand) and in particular, one that can accommodate my dog. She is slightly bigger than your adorable Oti I think? What weight is Oti? I am even not sure how my dog will go on the water, but to see how stable it is with Oti moving around looks promising. Again, thank you for a fantastic review and I will be subscribing to your channel. The Razor 2 certainly has a lot of really good features it seems and it is so nice to see a review such as yours. We have some wonderful rivers to explore here in Australia, but your travel on the canal looks magical. Thank you and all the best for all of your adventures
Hi, thank you very much!! Oti is around 20kg, and little Merlin at about 12kg will be joining us too. I have done a video on teaching your dog to paddle board if that's any help, and will follow Merlin from learning to wear his buoyancy aid to a solid wait and confidence in the kayak. Good luck finding the right kayak for you, let me know how it goes!
This is a great video, been looking at this model since we moved up to Suffolk and the River Stour is nearby, do you have any recommendations for paddles and life jackets?
Hi, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Personally I use the Palm bouyancy aids, but I'd strongly recommend trying on for fit. I've just upgraded to a carbon paddle, but would have to look up the make 🙂
Hi, great review. I have purchased the same kayak. Mine arrived covered in scratches which razor said was common. Can I ask whether your kayak had any scratches on it when it arrived.? They are mainly on the side tubes and show up white compared to the blue base colour. Many thanks.
Hi! Thank you 🙂 I think there were a couple of scratches, not noticeable at all after first use. To be honest I'd have to look back at photos or the video to double check I'm afraid! The company are great to talk to, so could perhaps give a ring and ask if it's normal?
If weight, size of bag and carrying had not been considerations, I'd have gone for the Chelan. With the R2 being less expensive, much easier for me to carry etc it was the clear one for me 🙂

I just got my R1. Thank you for your review.
Oh excellent, enjoy!
Thanks for this very cozy and informative review / video! Now I am looking forward even more to the ordered R1 Ultra! Love the dog :-)
You're very welcome!
I'd have gone for the R1 if I didn't have the dog (now 2!), lovely size for 1 🙂

For me that's what it's all about, peace, nature and relaxing.

That river is gorgeous!
We are very fortunate!
Some lovely canals and rivers around here in Devon, UK 🙂
