- Jun Jun, 26, is a newly-ordained deacon. By tradition, he may now be addressed as "Reverend," a title that sounds better with his full name, Christoper Santos, Jr. But he prefers to be simply Junjun-ordinary, simple, cool. Junjun entered the seminary at age 12, but he nevertheless enjoyed his childhood and teens, managed to have a couple of girlfriends in secret, earned good grades, and taught himself to sing pop songs as well. He has never doubted his vocation, but often wonders if there are ways to live it "outside the box." Music is the language of his heart, the prayer of his soul. After ordination as a deacon, he is sent to his hometown to assist in the parish and gain pastoral experience as a way of preparing for his ordination to the priesthood. There he meets Fr. Salvador Bautista, 65, fluent in Latin and Italian, a product of the "old school." Ordained just as the reforms of the Second Vatican Council were launched, Fr. Doy had served in several parishes before being assigned to the rural Parish of Santiago Apostol the past five years. MAGING AKIN MULI accompanies Junjun on his journey to the priesthood. At Santiago Apostol, he encounters the complexities of life for his fellow pilgrims in the parish -a generous but demanding benefactor, a young lady in distress, a couple whose son is on death row. The lives of these people enrich his own, but also challenge his vocation to be good and holy, to belong to God. The film explores the tension between human freedom, what people decide to do with their lives, and divine wisdom, what God asks of each person.

Anyone May 29,2023, Kaya ko to pinanood dahil two months nalang papasok na ako sa St Peter College Seminary sa San Pablo,Laguna kaya pinanood ko upang makita kung paano gagawin ng pagpapari please pray for me, my friends napapasok sa St Peter College Seminary, at sa aking bokasyon kahit mahirap pero kakayanin basta kay Lord ako magtitiwala 😇
Mga brother, May 25,2024. 4 times ko na pinanood to. Ngayun ulit, before ako pumasok sa somascan father's serminary sa july nakatutulong ito sa akin para mapalakas ang calling niya sa akin at lumalim pa ang aking bokasyon. Naway maging Pari ang lahat ng mga seminarista mga brother!! Pray each other and kakayanin natin ito para sa ating bokasyon at para sa Diyos. 🫶
I am almost reaching my 5th year as an ordained priest. This life is not as easy as one thinks. Everyday we are asked to make a decision to respond faithfully to the call. This film made me look back at my highschool years. Never have I thought that I'd take the decision to enter the seminary and pursue this vocation.
More often than not, I find myself lost and wondering what to do when the temptation of falling into a routine traps us to reach out sincerely to others. There were tiring days when I tried to fake a smile to accomodate a parishioner who wants to share a painful experience of a mundane concern. And there were days that saying a mass becomes more of an obligation to fulfill rather than a service of love. Almost 5 years of being ordained.. as we Filipinos love to say, may gatas pa sa labi.

Ilang beses ko na napanood pero di nakakasawa. I can see the reality of the church sa movie na ito. Ang daming aral. Talagang hindi mawawala sa simbahan yung mga chismosa na nagca-cause ng hindi magandang pangyayari.
14 yrs ago pinapanuod sa akin ito kasama ang mga gustong mag search in sa isang Congregation. Subalit hindi ako pinalad at 4 na beses sumubok muli. Ngunit sawi, sa 5 pagkakataon pinagkaluob na. Ngayon malapit na ako mag Solemn Profession. Dala ko pa rin sa puso ang awitin na ito.

I may not be successful with my journey inside the seminary but I'm always grateful I got to know who is God. Oo nga. Maganda hindi lang naka-focus kay Fr. Jun, it focuses on the different issues surrounding the Roman Catholic Church, including those who leave the Catholic Church to be converted to different sects (i.e. Protestantism, Iglesia Ni Cristo, Evangelical), the Church's involvement in various issues, and many others. Maganda kung halimbawang may makabangga si Fr. Jun na isang corrupt at makapangyarihang politiko, na hindi lang abusado sa kapangyarihan maging sa kanyang tahanan, then because of Fr. Jun ay nagbagong buhay siya after his entire family was ambushed and siya lang ang nakaligtas. Then ang ending, si Fr. Jun ay magiging Bishop Jun Santos tapos dadalawin niya si Fr. Do na nasa Seniorate na.
It's a nice film to watch specially this time of trials..

COMMENTS: Just sharing a Film that I watched concerning Faith or Destiny. I remember that I went to be a nun in the Guadalupe Seminary in 1979, that I was rejected because the Monsignor said if I go in. I may leave the seminary in a year, with tons of the seminarists resigning.
Just imagine I went to the invitation in MINI-SKIRTS and MAKE-UP. For sure that was Dumb stupid. I was hurt but I am stupid that had accepted my faith, but you know I said I will be serving God, if not a Priest, then Let it be a Reverend. With Gods help I was Ordained the POPPA OF THE WORLD in 1982. My biological father was very much against it, because I did not know he was a MUSLIM. Know I was an adopted, that to stop all arguments, I filed SABATICAL LEAVE. Went to the Military Schools and as always, the best in my batch then I became the DAHLIA OF THE WORLD ORGANIZATION, and then married multiple times. But no children for I became a Widow of John F Kenedy Jr, Gerald Gerald MacArthur and Prince James Houttout. Eventually, I married again and had children from one of the best Rock Band Member known in the World, Jon Von Jovi, who was 100% opposite my faith and my belief.
I quote my saying "Faith is a Calling, Believing is inscribed by you and your surroundings, but Destiny is the reason that will instill your Existence."
It hurts to be alone, but the gift of Life who were my children are my only probe and further strength in quest of my real Destiny.

I wonder why people like to highlight the so-called "dark secrets" of the Church, when in fact the Church has never been perfect. The Church is composed of sinners...both lay and ordained ministers.
Just like what the film highlighted, there are many lapses within the community of believers in the Church; but what matters most is that everyone continues to try to become better persons, better Christians.
I do not know the intention of you posting this comment, but I do hope that like many in the Church, you also journey with us in becoming better Christians. Again, the Church is not perfect, but that is part of the journey. We journey with those who are sinners as well, and the goal is to reach Christ.
