Absolutely scandalous. There needs to be an enquiry into the building industry and the inspectors that are passing such crap. No-one should have to spend money fixing a brand-new house.
I dont blame the inspectors as much as the shitty builders who have no idea what they are doing and couldn't care less about the quality of their work. Who wants an inspector to constantly pick up defects and have the house rectified 100 times by the time its finished?
I’m building a house and I’m paying an inspector to check each stage, he sends me a report then I send it to the builder. Then I go through with the builder and make sure he is going to fix the items, then I check items are fixed before they are covered up. But iv found it’s the home owner who has to make sure the builder fixes the problems. You can’t be hands off on builds these days.
Very smart, your builder will most likely do everything correctly if he knows a private inspector is coming too, keep every piece of paperwork organised too!

We had 4 inspections done 3 by the realestate agent and owner and all 3 said no problems, got our own inspector and the list was 2 pages long and he even said don’t buy this house. For us it was a case of awesome views and a nice area so we ended up buying it anyway with the thought we can knock it down in 10 years and build a house we like. Always get a independent inspector from another area to come in as most all work hand in hand with the realestate agents.
Same here. It seems that they are repeat offenders on his inspections. I wonder why? Are the builders ignorant of the specs? Or do they simply choose not to comply? It's a problem either way. No good reason for a punch list like he finds on any job.
Height restrictions are probably the culprit. You want an extra floor or split level then there is not enough height to have a functional peaked roof. So they put in flat roof.

You've knocked the nail on the head in one for almost everything we are watching. Designers are drawing things that are not able to be built with the available local skill levels. A designer working in England for a project in The Gambia has to consider the skill level available to build whats needed.

All the gutters have to be hidden and give the house a "hacienda" / castle / manor house vibe. (maybe fine in Arizona, if you and a roofer are on a first name basis) - fantastic for condensation inside walls and under the subfloor...
@@kadmow The developers backed by banks are "throwing up" all over Arizona (everywhere else too). 30% unoccupied commercial property in the USA and still building for a bust. Mortgages by banks are not based on the condition of the structure.
Can you get a solicitor involved in some of these inspections to talk about liability and what the outcomes and what the options are for the client? I'd love to hear what they think about all this. If I purchased a home and it was this bad without me knowing about it, I'd be looking at suing.
Hey @site inspections mate are you able to put details of which builders are the best in each and every state so we can choose who to build with, I think you need to partner up with builders, so when people build they know who to build with.
Boys I only show for comments when needed… thumbs up boys who thinks the tic tok inspector should train up an organisation in each state to go out and do this work for him. Working for him and reporting to him.
I've seen so many roof designs from engineers that don't comply off the plan... I believe around 80% of roofing problems are created at design stage. I've had to fix roof designs with roofs falling towards internal walls. I mean the design "looks" nice but its not functional. (ie. Macarthy Homes has a few designs like this). Engineers need to learn that roofs falling towards internal walls requiring box gutters will become a problem within 5-10 years requiring the roofing sheets to be lifted and a new box gutter to be installed at massive cost. If you can..... steer clear of internal and box gutters! They create too many problems, even if installed correctly.
Looks like the only compliant section of the property is the superb playhouse at 19:11. What annoys me is that he got an inspection, it is also frustrating the waste. This house should have lasted decades, even a lifetime. Poor guy.

Long before ever watching the "tictoc inspector" - I have hated box gutters - they are nearly never highly performing - and compromise the dwellings integrity... Multimillion mansions without full time roofer/gutterer/plumber onsite are a big F...
i think lot of building problems are caused by bad design.the amount of steel and structural things in modern design is crazy. you should build house from ground up but design from roof down
Price doesn't equal quality. Have every phase of new construction inspected by a privately hired inspector. Have existing dwelling inspected before purchase. Have contingency escape clauses drawn up by a lawyer on all signed contracts (inspectors don't have x-ray vision). The realtor is not your friend. By law (usa) they are required to disclose known defects but they don't. Stay out of court by covering your bases. Cheers.

these queensland roofing cowboys can normally come down to victoria and can perform plumbing without licensing and registrations. It's been a problem in the plumbing industry across all states.
Basically it will eventually fail and leak. If it’s not installed per the engineered specs, it will not do what it’s supposed to do which is efficiently drain water. Might look okay to the eye but you gotta install thoroughly and per the engineers specs, and with some damn pride and consideration for the people paying you money to do it correctly..

Termites are usually the biggest problem with south east Queensland. At least the house is mainly constructed of steel frame that has got to be a positive?! The person that sold you this house Troy would have known about these water leak problems for sure ! Hope you get it sorted.

The quality of work in homes in Australia that i'm seeing from your videos is so bad that if I had money and wanted to build a new home in Australia, i'd probably want to bring a construction team from the USA to build the home for me. Is anyone else gobsmacked by the too multi-faceted/overly complicated design of the roof, slopes, and pointing. Asking for trouble unless the box gutter, drainage system/downpipes, and roof builders are really on top of their game and understand the AS standards backwards. You can still purchase a multi-million dollar home, but with a much simpler roof slopes and design.. You'll never see roofs and slopes of this complexity built in snow-bound countries like Switzerland for example...

Such a shame to see a house that looks so beautiful be riddled with so many problems. A lot of these could cause some serious health problems too e.g. mould / water leaks - hopefully a good builder can get stuck into it and get it all sorted so the house can be enjoyed how it’s suppose to without the added stress 🤷🏽♂️

So I’m abit uneducated here but what good is it getting this inspection once the house has been bought or even prior like won’t they just say well u bought the house and didn’t do your due diligence or don’t buy the house not having a ago just generally curious as to what the process is to get issue like this fixed?
It shouldn't matter if the home is $30,000 or $3,000,000 it should be built properly and compliant.

That's way more than $100k of roof rework. Several hundred k by the time you have to re-do all the downpipes, many of which will be inside the house.

This house was built in 1993. This is not a brand new home? Not sure why inspect it Asif it's a brand new build.

As a plumber I know over the years the code changes as years go on, so it might not be compliant now. It was when the house was built
