      Didn’t realize it had a crack then yes it is where it belongs. I just love any kind of glass. Manchester mudlarks found a 1oz bovril & immediately I thought of Craig. There is one out there with your name on it for sure.

    Now,I’m a bead guy.
    Got thousands of them,dating back to Roman times,so I love a good bead find!
    The green bead is possibly Austrian or German glass,the red,not a good enough view to tell.
    Is it glass?
    I like the ‘wee’ bird,the salt shaker!
    Because it has the hole in the base,I would make a little succulent pot out of it!

    • @scottishmudlarking
      @scottishmudlarking  2 роки тому

      Oh wow 🤩 beads!!! We love them too - the green one is bonfire so quite deformed but looks like Jade ❤️ The other one is terracotta - an odd choice for a necklace but as we have found a couple of the same style in that tip, we think it might have been from one piece of jewelry! A succulent pot sounds nice - Craig has been growing some money plants 🌱, they would be perfect! 🤩

      Great minds on the decanter... yet we may have to go see if we can find it again, maybe for a laugh, maybe to see how damaged it is for that repair... that's a lovely idea! :D The wee marmalade pots are adorable - we both use the mid size pots to hold pens and pencils, and have a few minis on display! :D Love the teapot - so much so its in the garden! :D

    That little green shoe is very well sculpted. Would make a good pot for a tiny succulent. That ginger beer that is broken is gorgeous! Would make a good cut down even with the cracks and if it breaks apart, epoxy will fix it! That piece of cobalt blue and clear etched window piece is great! One of my favourite things and I hope to try etching myself.

    Great finds loved this weeks video. Do you ever put tape on the cracks on the bottles before you cut them down? Maybe that could protect the rest of it or maybe drill a small hole at the end of the crack and maybe that would work just thinking out loud. Maybe you could do a video showing how you cut things down. Can’t wait to see next weeks video.

      Thanks so much Kirsti! I haven’t tried putting tape on the cracks but it sounds like it might be worth trying! Check out our sister channel ‘ Crafting with Scottish Mudlarking’ - we show in shorts form how we cut down pottery to make a necklace 😃

    Good chicken t-pot (handle would have made it), decanter would normally be in bits, to find it in that condition was rare - wonder which way the egg would have come out with that cross-bred swan Craig? I saw a lot of 'quack' bottles recently in an antiques warehouse in Cardiff going cheap; the best one was a torpedo bottle only a £1. Yes, Buckfast wine is made in Devon, near Torquay - hard to believe were made by Trappist monks(believe its strong stuff)! Coincidence with the Coca Cola feature did the Pepsi Max taste in Cardiff yesterday, free can! Nice if you on the bucket list added Cola bottle ! That shoe is like the Johnny Walker one!

    • @scottishmudlarking
      @scottishmudlarking  2 роки тому

      We had to have that teapot for the garden, so many teapots and not a drop of tea to drink!! LOL we certainly underestimated the love that decanter would get - you're right, unusual to find anything that fancy in one piece, or neary one piece! Oh! Poor hybrid thing, I can't imagine where the eggs would pop out from! Stuff of nightmares! lol Nice on on the torpedo bottle! Monks do seem to have a thing for the booze - lol I'm thinking of some of the amazing beers I've tried in Brussels! Oh! The coke bottle - would love to find an old one - I have an amazing coke bottle - sad back stroy to it though... I picked it up in Vanuatu, South Pacific, years ago...The US exported tons of the stuff to try to help the troops feel a little bit of home while there. Apparently, there are massive heaps of 30s & 40s coke bottles deep in the rainforest areas! We also collected lots of cola bottle shards when we were there last... Must say someting abotu that lot at some point.
      You might be right! I remember some wired bar furniture from way back in the day!
      Thank you so much, best wishes, Nicole & Craig xo
