I like having easy swing off on venom for a few reasons. 1. Venom relies on health packs more than most heroes, being able to look at a health pack that’s up to 30 meters away and just click to zip directly to it is EXTREMELY beneficial, especially if it’s a one v one and you’re both racing to the health pack to survive it. It’s also helpful for health packs that are in buildings or thru doorways like a good chunk of them are on maps like Yggdrasil. 2. You can manipulate the camera to fling yourself high, low, or straight; you can also manipulate your speed and angle with camera movements. While you don’t need easy swing off to do this, I think you have more control to do what you want when you choose your anchor point. It also allows some neat techs like grappling a wall point blank and flinging yourself to the skybox without moving from where you started. 3. I feel like completely learning how his grapple works allows more niche techs to be learned and used. This is more for people who really wanna get advanced level plays outta venom. 4. As mentioned earlier it frees venoms movement up drastically, sometimes your auto grapple will go to a place you didn’t want and get you killed, but with easy swing off, you can only blame yourself for failed movement. I think it also forces you to be a better player overall. That’s just my opinion on venom! I’m not the greatest and only have abt 12 hrs on him but I think he’s surprisingly deep if you take time to try and learn his entire kit, including his swing. Good luck to all my venom mains out there! This video has great starting tips btw!
In heat of the moment situations i usually cant afford the half a second or more it takes to lime up my grapple on something high but this is porbabky a skill thing for now but i kspt easy swing on bc i was struggling lol
Just so you're aware... Venom gets his +150 health bonus at all times, not just during a team up (with Spider Man and Peni Parker). You can see this by looking at your health with or without a team up... It's always 800.
I like how you brought up venom's weakness in stuns. I'd add that when facing a team you know is going to try and stun lock you you should be using bubble at about 50% hp instead of waiting.for low hp. When I see a venom I immediately stun him when he hits 5o or I switch to wolverine and dive.him towards my team when he gets low ans tries to swing
Huge tip for my fellow Venom mains out there! Feast of the Abyss deals 50% (current) HP + 40 meaning that, for example, a Groot at max HP takes 390 damage. This also means the only way to kill someone with his ult is for them to be 80 HP or below. Happy Hunting!
I think the swing setting always has to be turned to manual because you dont have control of the direction youre going to swing otherwise. Maybe this is just because I use it to reposition and not as an escape but I feel like you lose too much control.
for a 15 minute guide i would expect more depth such is how much damage his primary fire does as well as his other skills. You are basically just reading off the move list with how general you are being.
A few specific things about Venom: For his Symbiotic Resilience, his Bonus Health will always take you to 900 HP. Whether it ends up as a split of 800/100 or 200/700. I think that's worth knowing exactly where it puts you, but I never see anybody mention it. Also, you mentioned that his ultimate does more damage the less they have - I think it's actually the opposite. It's an ult better used for initiating combat than it is trying to assassinate with. I don't know the exact numbers of how it works, but it's worth mentioning! Thanks for your awesome videos so far! Definitely enjoying! :)
Did they change the Direction of Wall Crawling default? I went to change it but it was already set to Advance Vertically Upwards, and I've never been in the settings lol
Typical Marvel fan here, just wanting some genuine thoughts on this game.. I so badly want to get into it, but I can’t get past how similar to Overwatch it is. In actual play, does this game feel different at all?
Im a big marvel fan, and even with the similarities, i like it more because I get to play as marvel characters. Everything takes inspiration from something. Overwatch took inspiration from Team Fortress. But as a gamer too, this game feels better than overwatch. I like the mechanics better, the features better, the monetization model, etc. They're doing a lot of things right that overwatch does wrong.
It has som similarities it it’s def it’s own game. A lot call it a overwatch copy but I think it’s more inspired than copied. Same as how overwatch got inspired from pvz:GW and TF2
It is a lot like Overwatch, but it's a little less of a twitchy head clicking game. It is still part of the game, but there are a lot of characters that aren't "just shooters." For example there's someone else who plays this game that's more into fighting games, because characters like Magik are melee focused and can play more like a fighting game character than an Overwatch character. Hope that helps! It is very fun, but it can be competitive and challenging.

Interesting points! I may play around with it

it seems like saying “venom bomb” over the microphone adds 200 damage, thanks for the tip 11:32
Haha damn right! Be sure to subscribe for more goodness lol
Easy swing off can help you zip away from some ults that would otherwise hit you.

Venom is my main tank, very strong char he helps the team a lot by blocking the most damage

Easy swing off so you can zip line horizontally. Venom will traverse the map quicker and set up the dive ambush.
Venom my most played character. Love dropping down on enemies. So much fun.
Specially when they try running away.

Great video.. great tips! I’m on team easy-swing-off .. more control is better than less control.
Dude is on point with this hero
hells yeah! be sure to subscribe for more goodness
Random question, are you related to the guy from the Comics Explained channel 😅

One correction: Venom's Ult does more damage the *higher* their current health pool is, so you want to use it as an initiator, not a finisher.

I thought this was comic explained for a second 😂😂😂
😂
