Well, Uncle Atom, you did it. After all these years of putting off buying goblin miniatures (because I did not have a use for them), you have forced me to order some. I bought two sets of 25 forest goblins, and some characters, so I can build two war bands. I hope you are happy with yourself, I know I am. 😉
English Argle Bargle is the older variant of the modern Argy Bargy! I learnt a thing - thanks internet. I thought it was a wonderful Americanism, thanks Snarling Badger for reminding us of a lost phrase, love Argle Bargle! 😊
The more common English term is Argy-Bargy but this sounds less Goblinese. I've been in a few Argy-Bargys in my time - usually after a few drinks and definitely with people I would class as Goblins.
Just discovered your channel and ordered all the Rulebooks - the games seem a big fun to play! Just yesterday I watched your Pile of potential video and started rearranging my unbuild minis by project. Turns out one of them is for a bunch of Greenskins. Perfect opportunity to test out the crazy Goblin Game,
This is perfect. My kid loves goblins. He has the Goblins of the Red Desert army from ZBS miniatures, the Goblins of the Steppe from Highland Miniatures, and several models from Duncan Shadow.
Should be 12 dollars and get a printed version with an added sticker. 😂 looking forward to Sundays show. Thank you as I am reading through your books I got. Need to get painting. As a D&D guy, I have plenty of these guys laying around, but I need army's for your books!
Happy to volunteer to be future translator of OG English to across the pond English. Should be Argie Bargie - though argle bargle does have a nice ring to it.
Google says that the Oxford Dictionary says ‘argle-bargle’ is another term for ‘argy-bargy’ and Google isn’t usually wrong. Well, as long as it’s not the AI “helper” from Google. Also, the goblins told us. Thanks for watching!
Here's to yet another SNARL ZINE! This comments section is chock full of Flemington confetti. It's nice to see you guys slipped in some additional material for the previous games.
I did always want to get some goblin models but haven’t had any games to play with them. Until now. I should have thought of sending the PDF to an office store to print into a booklet. I struggled so much trying to print it and doing the folding and it didn’t work for my goblin brain.
I remember hand stapling the quarterly zine we published for our RPG association back in the day because our budget wouldn’t allow printing them stapled and cut. Instead we bought these long jaw staplers to do it.
I appreciate the extra file in booklet form. I know that this is easier for some end users to layout a straight PDF to booklet than others but I am a big believer in putting in that extra effort from the company or designer's end.
Adobe InDesign (the software I used for layout) has made it much more difficult - in their infinite wisdom - to produce the booklet layout in PDF. But I’m smarter than them and figured out a workaround. Thanks for watching!
I know PeachyTips has talked about Deth Wizards before, but I hope he sees this and can share Argle Bargle with Rogue Hobbies! It sounds right up their alley with Goblins and Shenanigans.
This will give me a reason to paint up the underworlds goblin warbands i have lying about. Btw Adam, as of now the description for the new game on Wargames Vault is still the text for Tanks for the Apocalypse. As much as i'd love to have a goblin driving an M4 Sherman, I'm assuming this is just a copy/paste error.
I will grab this tomorrow when our internet is restored. Some miscreant ripped up 200-300 feet of copper cable to steal and cut through our fiber optic in the process.
This - the goblin skirmish game - should serve as an excellent warm up for Hobgoblin, which has finally gone on sale, at least for folks who like mass battle games as much as skirmishes. It seems to be a good month for goblins, though sadly, many will die as a consequence.
My birthday is coming up next week and I’m going to convince my friend to print out the rules so we can get together and commence in some wacky gobbo shenanigans 😜 Now I just need to figure out where in my storage unit the box of Orc and Goblins is hiding and start building up a couple warbands
HA, I just started writing on a small skirmish game a couple of days ago where shennanigans is more important than fighting among other things. Will have to check this out for inspiration.. maybe you even did all the work for me ;)
Oh man thisis great and has a lot of what I was going for. If you might be interested in my idea, I think it could be fairly easily added to this game as an expansion, just write me :)
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm i have been wanting to make a goblin tribe, I have loads of the Mythic legions figures I wonder if the gane could be scaled up for them? 🤔
Argle Bargle is apparently a version of Argy Bargy … had to just look it up as I thought it was Argy Bargy … but here’s me learning in the new Trump era that there’s variations on Argy Bargy 😂
Aye, I thought that, maybe it's an older version, and obviously it's totally the goblin version. I live up in Newcastle now, and Geordies have the expression "gannin radge" for the same thing, and people can be "proper radge" if they're aggressive and that, and people (who are sometimes called "gadgies") who are aggressive are called radgie gadgies, which would make a great name for a goblin tribe for this.
"Argle bargle", despite what some folks from the cloudy little island in the North Atlantic say, is a completely valid form of the term. The briefest of internet searches will confirm this. Adam and Vince did not commit a John Wick Baba Yaga type error here.
I didn’t know “argy-bargy” was something said in Britain until this comment section. Two nations divided by a common language, indeed! Looks like the description of Snarl on Wargames Vault has a remnant from the first version in there - “Pilot your M4 Sherman tank through the post-apocalyptic American Midwest and fight against other Shermans in what's left of the world after the July 1945 nuclear test went all kinds of wrong.”
Looks like the perfect companion to a box of Wargames Atlantic Goblins. Though there's only 30 in each box, so two would be better. Or push to three for the multi-buy discount... Well, this is going to be dangerous.
You have to take into account that two goblins of the five on each sprue are meant to be spider-riders, with legs to prove it, leaving only 18 per box who are on foot, at least without significant kit-bashing.
@@liberalhyena9760 that's fine. I'm sure there are plenty of goblins out there who like standing on the ground like they're about to take part in an old west high noon shootout.
Yeah as a Brit I've never heard of Argle Bargle. But I'm not saying it's a great term for goblinfest. Just maybe a term in a dictionary that didn't note the term being out of use? Hmm. Or maybe it's used in some specific areas that I'm unfamiliar with. Anyway, great Stuff
This feels like it could have been added as a in-line ad to a rebroadcast VOD of an episode of Every Other Sunday. I like your hobby content, but 8 minutes of a Friday video that lacks any real content, meh. Not your strongest video. I did watch the full thing though to help you with the algorithm so that other people who might enjoy this more can see it.
Twice a year - once in the spring, once in the fall - I make a video about the release of our new games. Otherwise it’s 50 weeks a year of hobby content. I’ll be back to normal hobby content next week. Thanks for watching.
The goblins call it an argle-bargle. And they would know. Secondly, the Oxford Dictionary (and Google) says that argle-bargle is another term for argy-bargy. So we decided to listen to the goblins and the Oxford Dictionary in the one time in history where they agreed with each other. Thanks for watching!
Argie Bargie not Argle Bargle... New guy to wargaming, looking for a company that doesnt release games with errors (started mu disappointment with Bolt Action V3). Did yoi not think to ask a British person or find a video of the pronounciation?
According to the Oxford Dictionary and Google (and several other online dictionaries - Miriam Webster and the like) ‘argle-bargle’ is another term for ‘argy-bargy’ and also: the goblins told us, so that was good enough for us. Thanks for watching!
I love that you release these as a printable zene format. I wish all PDF rulebooks had this option!
Well, Uncle Atom, you did it. After all these years of putting off buying goblin miniatures (because I did not have a use for them), you have forced me to order some. Ty for this uncle atom and Vince. I have Covid for the first time atm. So I'm locked away in isolation. But planning out different goblin tribes now.
English Argle Bargle is the older variant of the modern Argy Bargy! I learnt a thing - thanks internet. I thought it was a wonderful Americanism, thanks Snarling Badger for reminding us of a lost phrase, love Argle Bargle! 😊
It sounds more goblin-y as well. At least, it does to me and Vince. Thanks for watching!
@@tabletopminions got the full zine collection now, getting them printed over this week…good stuff! Love the punky analogue format…keep Snarling ⭐️

You had me at Argle Bargle! Excellent stuff, insta-buy!
as a long time Night Goblin player, and owner of the Steamforged Epic Encounters Village of the Goblin Chief, I have *LOTS* of goblins. Love this.
I love the name "The Great Goblin Argle Bargle", its just so whimsical
Xmas has come early! Now to start collecting goblins, I swear they were right here a moment ago…
The more common English term is Argy-Bargy but this sounds less Goblinese. I've been in a few Argy-Bargys in my time - usually after a few drinks and definitely with people I would class as Goblins.
Argle Bargle definitely sounds like a Goblin's name.
Read through the goblin game and I think it will be part of our Christmas party games at the club, we'll just have to check if we have enough goblins.
I imagine you could induct some suitably short alternates instead for the event. Perhaps some halflings, or maybe dwarfs.
There is no such thing as "enough goblins"!

That intro to Argle Bargle sounds like Spinal Tap lyrics to me. The follow up to 'Stone Henge' perhaps?
I'm having my first 'Tanksgiving' this year with last year's zine. Looking forward to this next zine.
Goblin-mas? Thanks for watching!
Great zine idea... The game sounds fun... 🎉 Thank u uncle Adam and Vince
Time for a barrel of green and purple sashes so goblin kind can fight to elect a new leader.
There is no other way.
Deth Wizards add-on's giving some more variety of creatures to make for this game.
I kind of just want to build and paint a bunch of goblins now.
This is perfect. My kid loves goblins. He has the Goblins of the Red Desert army from ZBS miniatures, the Goblins of the Steppe from Highland Miniatures, and several models from Duncan Shadow.
I printed the last zine and bound it with twine. Was a fun experience, looking forward to doing it again.
Well, I better get started on printing and painting some goblins!

Very excited for this. I love mini-games like this. Going to order this soon!
So excited to get my goblins on the table for this!
This is definitely my speed. I love fantasy Goblins. I get Labyrinth vibes from this too. Great idea! Look forward to playing it.
Downloading it now! looking forward to the next Argle bargle!!!

Like the goblin slayer helmet! 🎉
As a native Englishman, never heard of "argle bargle" - learn something new every day!
lucky me, yesterday i finisched my goblins warbands from warhammer underworlds to play them in skirmish games :D

That could still work with the addition of the phrase, “while crushing goblins”. Everyone would then be happy, apart from the goblins.
