Is the downtown Winter Garden area the most similar area to The Villages that is not 55+? Meaning that the age range is diverse. Eric is hysterical, does he film your home tours? If he does, I can't imagine how he keeps so silent! You should have him do a home tour and do his best Vanna!!! Lol
LOL... yes, Eric does all of the video production. I need him behind the camera for the home tours, but we're having fun in the Sunday Drives! As far as similarity to The Villages... almost every town around here has a downtown area that is at least a little similar. The golf carts give it that "Villages-feel" but there are others like it! Winter Garden is probably the largest and most vibrant though!
I absolutely love your informative videos! I wish, so much, that I could move to Winter Garden. Unfortunately, the houses that you've shown there (that I like) are up in the $900.000.00 or million $$.
We DEFINITELY wanted to mention the price because we knew that people would want to know. That's SO much money but SO beautiful. We've had such a struggle with how expensive things are getting in Winter Garden. Hopefully there are more affordable options on the way!

I believe I would rather deal with the Gators in your Oakland, Florida. Your homes are also at a lower price than Oakland, California.

Those two places in particular are places where I would want my realtor to reach out first, but I don't have specific examples of them restricting your right to have a realtor as long as you mention them on the first contact!

Every home here has cinder block on the first level. DR Horton is one builder who uses cinder block on both levels. In this sub-tropical environment, it would be insanity to have wood anywhere on the exterior!
Hi Amy and Eric. Of course we are watching. You guys a wealth of info and knowledge and we appreciate your time. You and all we follow say the same. Call you first. Do not talk to the builder. Apartments are so affordable in Florida. A 2 bed in Florida could be $900-$1500. Same layout in NY $2600-$3100. Smh. The houses are lovely but look too close together. Would like more than 8-10 ft between homes. Ha. Was your foot on the brakes and in drive the whole gator bit? Curious question? Do the builders allow clients to buy 2 lots and the house placed smack in the middle of the 2 lots? And then the taxes would be calculated for the 2 lots and of course the house. See. I’m torn. I like newer neighborhoods but I like the space between the homes in the established neighborhood. My husband loves the rare entry garage. I like the garage attached to the home. Not a deal breaker though. Either or. Congrats to your daughter. 🎓. Absolutely right. Everyone affected by the pandemic in some form or fashion. I’m loving Wintergarden. My husband loves local businesses. Especially for produce. Love being close to historic and newer strip malls, restaurants, shopping, turnpike or interstate and within 20 minutes of a major airport. Hi Cydney! The proximity of the homes is definitely a shock factor for people moving here. You can get 70', 80' and 90' lots in some communities but that generally adds about $100,000 to the price of the home (it varies). In theory you COULD buy two lots with the intention of putting one house in the middle. But, there are two hurdles to overcome: First, the lots are zoned and permitted for one home on one lot. So you would have to petition the County to change the permitting. They MIGHT do that... but you would not be able to ask until after you had bought both lots. Secondly, the builders know they will make more money selling two lots and two homes rather than two lots and one home. So it would be unlikely that you would find a builder willing to do that.
Budget permitting your best bet might be buying a lot somewhere and contracting an individual builder to build your home. That can be really pricey but it is the best way to get that extra space. The further out from Orlando you get, the more space you get between the homes. Oakland is a little different because they are designed to look and feel a certain way that is closer together! Are there any homes near a bike trail that is selling in the 200-260k homes? I live behind a bike trail and eventually plan on moving to Orlando but want to live near a bike trail where I can walk to it after work and go for a bike ride.
Because the trail stretches for 22 miles, there are all sorts of communities nearby and many of them are very affordable. In that price point it is likely that you will be closer to Apopka than downtown Winter Garden... but it is definitely possible!!!
This is terrible, but I haven't checked my bill in a while. I THINK it is $65/month for trash pickup and recycling. Trash comes twice a week, recycling once a week... and yard waste comes once a week and you can just leave it out... no extra charges.
We had two new engineers start at my company at the beginning of the year. One was born in January 2001. Two. Thousand. And. One. I tried to exercise my veto. Turns out that's not a real thing.
We love Winter Garden. Our daughter lives in Ocoee, so when we visit from Michigan, we make sure there is a lunch in Winter Garden!

Wow so many alligators yuk not for me, they need to capture them. I heard FL has 1.2 million alligators that is way too many for my comfort.
