    This is just fantastic. From the fuel kart reminiscent of a geriatric hospital, to checking engines thrust and burning hands, to throwing ear protection off to the ground with hurry, and the model flying like a swarm of a million angry bees. Just incredible! Nice job.

      NEVER ask a German Engineer this, unless you have 5 hours to listen INTENTLY, and a FIRM understanding of: Aerodynamics, Structural Engineering, Geopolitical Ramifications of the Second World War, and how to operate a Slide Rule at EXPERT level. Then and ONLY THEN may you venture to "Ask". 🤣

    • @malcolmcarter1726
      @malcolmcarter1726 2 роки тому +1

      They sure did. The Me 328 with two. And the Heinkel He 280 with at different times four and even six argus pulse jets! Incidentally it was in this that the first ever use of an ejection seat occured when it was being towed by an He 111 to altitude (the pulse jets had to be moving at speed to be lit) the towing cables hitch release froze shut and the pilot Helmut Schenk used the bang seat and lived to tell the tale.

    • @GrassPossum
      @GrassPossum Рік тому +2

      It doesn't reach the speeds of the single jet ones though, as many have commented and the video owner agrees. The reason being the extra drag the extra engines and fuel tanks add. I think this lack of power available to provide forward propulsion commensurate with a single engine, translates to inability to carry the same payload. This would have made the payload the German jets were able to deliver to London smaller. Less bang for a lot more Deutschmarks, even if the sound was a lot cooler at least.

    if you haven't heard and seen one of these in real life, you should try to see one. Best chance are RC Club summer events. It is mind boggling how such small engines can make so much noise. these days in France and Germany you often need special permissions to let them fly as they are so noisy, hence the RC summer events.

    bon les gars, vous avez du matos de fou, le triple pulso, les casques antibruit, et pour vérifier que les moteurs sont bien allumés, vous mettez la main ! c'est chaud hein... faites vous un petit fanion au bout d'un baton, ou même au bout de l'antenne de la radio je sais pas... mais vous brûlez pas ;-) J'ai assité à un vol de pulso il y a 20 ans, j'ai été subjugué par la puissance du son, que dire... vous êtes des grands malades !

      En fait j'ai un mano monté sur les présurisations de chaque moteur, cela me permet de vérifier qu'ils fonctionnent tous les trois (c'est très compliqué d'entendre le 3ieme moteur démarrer quand on est proche du tripulso). Mais bon dans le stress du décollage il m'arrive de le vérifier manuellement.

    For interest Mach 1 speed , The speed of sound (Mach 1) varies with altitude and temperature. If an aircraft is travelling at the speed of sound at sea-level then its speed will be 661 knots (760 miles per hour) or if it is travelling at the speed of sound at 30,000 feet then its speed will be 589 knots (677 miles per hour). Just for those thinking that this had anything to do with this models speed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any conventional rc model has approached the speed of sound yet.
