The soundtrack makes it feel like we are voyaging on an alien planet, and that's basically what most of these succulents look like: plants from another world.

I looooooove the caudiciform succulents trained as bonsai, Adeniums are some of my favorite, I have one, though it's not really trained as a bonsai, it flowers beautifully every late spring/early summer and I just love it to bits. It's going to flower super soon in fact, when I checked on it yesterday one of the buds was starting to open!

Looked like a fabulous show for succulent or any plant lover. Was my first time seeing some specimens. I liked the different soil coverings used, especially the tiny pebbles(someone even used charcoal). I'm guessing the lines were'nt as atrocious as they looked, because 75 people admitted at a time. Well done on the videoing, looking good! Noticed, the mic crackling a bit again, when talking to the tree ladies, why is it doing that? Great show turn out, lot's of interest in succulents in Toronto! Must be a real challenge growing, keeping succulents alive in Canada, lots of people keen on them though! Pretty good selection of plants, very nice. Did you buy anything, if so, what, if not, why!? Keep up the great content, thanks for sharing, as always. Cheers.

Hello Eric, I just bought a new microphone today. I was hoping it was the cable, but a new one didn't help. I didn't buy anything at the show, i was busy making the video and just never got time to look at the ones for sale. I don't have much room until the new greenhouse is up!

@@TheBonsaiZone Hi Nigel. Glad you got yourself a new mic. What did you get? I was thinking of getting a Rhode, like your old one, but perhaps I should avoid it? When will you be building your green house, the one you dismantled? Will you be erecting the entire thing or only part if it? seem to recall a video you made, about the greenhouse, didn't quite understand what you meant.

    • @TheBonsaiZone

I bought a Rode VideoMic Pro plus. It comes with a ten year warranty! I was using it today and I'm really happy with it. It turns on when the camera turns on and turns off with the camera also! It comes with a USB rechargeable battery that lasts 70 hours. The sound is much, better than the previous Rode VideoMic Go. The only drawback is the price, I paid 375 dollars at Henry's. My last mic was 185.
I'm trying to get the greenhouse under way this week, I'll be building half an arch, so there will be a wall with the door and the arches will arch from the top of the wall towards the ground. I have been collecting the Yew tree from the back yard and I have to pot it up tomorrow, spring is always too busy!

@@TheBonsaiZone New mic sounds like a good piece of gear! Pricey, but hopefully it's good quality. You and I have expensive hobbies, filming, photography, bonsai, music. These things do tend to get expensive at some point! 100% worth it though. :) Did the old mic work well for a period or was it always a problem, I'm thinking it did see or hear, a lot of action?

Most are for a decorative covering, but many succulent growers that I talked to use a soil similar to bonsai soil, but with a little more organics added.
