Shoot in HLG then you can access proper rec2020. Totally changed how i used this camera when I figured this out. You can then CST into Arri Log C and it works great.
Thanks Ben for this well done video. I learned everything I needed to know for this camera I plan to use as a grab a go B-roll cam for my Travel/Adventure videos.
I'm a content creator who is disabled and in a powerchair, producing accessibility videos and content of my getting out and about. My main go to cameras are the Insta360 X4, RS 1inch and AcePro connected up to a Hohem m6 gimble. But, the Hohem has become way too heavy due to a decline in my condition, so was suggested the Pocket3 as a replacent to the AcePro and Hohem combo. As I don't have to worry about movement from walking up/down, I can get cool shots from behind the wheels and low to the ground etc, So hopefully, the DJI will be a suitable replacement to the Hohem, be lighter and portable, without taking up any space and being super easy to quickly begin filming/vlogging without the use of a 360camera or an outstretched arm with my phone. Have you any thoughts?
Ulanzi has a 2x tele lens for a 40mm equivalent. I'm waiting for mine to come in. Should address the biggest complaint with this camera. The fixed aperture is really not the end of the world.
I bought the DJI Action 5 Pro and Mic Mini. Really enjoying both so far. I wanted something that can handle some rain in Southeast Asia where I will be traveling extensively.
that is exactly why I am thinking about getting one, it is the perfect tool for BTS. I noticed some grain noise in some of the shots, was that intentional or the footage was grainy?
Brother, as a fellow professional I gotta tell you, your coloring techniques are not proper. First of all you are limiting the D Gamut which is fairly big, to a Rec709/ Gamma2.4 signal. The DJI Signal is a kindof HDR one so you would be better off using Rec2100 HLG variations because DJI still hasn't released a DCTL with the proper math. Anyway, then you are passing the Rec signal which is a smaller one to SLog 😅🤣. This is like putting a smaller tube in a bigger tube and then saying look now its bigger... You have already lost the information and its just the first step... You also put the look behind your main adjustments, as a rule of thumb, first you fix the image then you "break" it. Anyway for anyone still here, the proper workflow would be: CST in DJI DGamut/Rec2100 HLG to DWG/DInter CST Out DWG/DInter to usually Rec709 Gamma 2.4.
Surprisingly the only camera I bought in 2024! 😅 Did you buy any cameras this year? or are you going to? 👀
I am seriously considering buying this! the workflow with the pocket seems soo easy

Otherwise you’re basically just simulating it with dlogm not actually tapping into the full 2020 gammut.
Oooo I’ll have to give that a try! I haven’t worked in rec.2020 much but its definitely on my list 👍

Looks very great for our WorldTour! Thx a lot for the video!
Which grips are these?

Thank you for the recommendation on the filters!
You bet! 👍

That grain was added in post! A very low noise camera to be honest
Those Crdbags got me. 😮 I'm so getting some of those. I need them for my cables and equipments.
Legit not even joking they are BY FAR my favorite camera accessory! 👏 Make sure you use my link LOL 😂😅
@BenGleasonMedia That's awesome. I'm so getting some. Thank you for showing us this.
Cool channel man
Thank you 🙏
What I like about it you can put it on a Tripod and have that camera follow you on it own from the Tripod. I forgot what it called.
The face tracking mode is awesome!
@BenGleasonMedia yes there you go. That feature. Yeah, I saw it on another UA-camr showing how he uses it while filming solo. Pretty neat.
I had it on while I was doing the color grading section and it works so well! One of the best features on a camera ever
@BenGleasonMedia That's awesome. I didn't noticed. Let me check it out again.
Very very hard to include a tiny set of iris blades on these tiny lenses .
Overheating issues?
Not that I’ve experienced! But it hasn’t been super hot where I live
Like I said before, I haven’t had any issues with overheating.
@@BenGleasonMedia thanks hope i will not experience that overheating im planning to buy one
Nope :)
Give me details I have interesting
And now we can completely defeat the purpose of this camera by rigging it out! 😅
😂 absolutely unnecessary, but it sure looked cool!

I appreciate the feedback man! Thanks for the insight, I will definitely give that CST workflow a try! 👍
