Nah if you let technical guys design a shoe you'll end up with a disbility looking shoe. People forget that the designers still need to make the visuals look good. Not just perform good. Often one takes away from the other
Interesting concepts - I actually love how flexible and streamlined this shoe is. I admit that the shoe felt a little unstable at first - coming from Lebron 20s, 21s but after awhile my feet adapted and they're so comfortable. Think the added suggestions will take away at the plushness of the shoe.
Went with a GameDay Pro from move insole in my GT Cut 3's (on sale for like 70$) and for $120 all in its a great indoor setup. They feel quick and stable, light and fast esp up and down the court. Love the cushion and what the insole does for the stiffness.
Funny how the Wades are all solving the GT3's instability problem with PEBAX a long time ago, and it only takes Jordan 38' X plate to create a caging that's sufficient enuff for lateral stability. Seems that they need to learn from Chinese companies' tendency of maximalist level protection.
The GT Cut 3 reminds me of the Hyperdunk 2017 where Nike tried the react foam on basketball shoes for the first time. The hyperdunk 2017 cushion was quite a disappointment, but the traction was elite
Good points on stabilizer on shank which is very important for stability, as a long time footwear developer. As a rule of thumb, Forefoot must not be too bouncy, as this will transmit the bounciness to the knee. We need absorbison on Forefoot, and yes bounciness. on Heel Area (plus shank stabilizer).
I hoop a ton cause I coach high school ball. These shoes are the best comfort and traction I 've ever played with. Are people really having lateral instability? .....I've never had trouble cutting in these
Hello doc, i developed a very painful foot corn/callus near my pinky toe kinda on the outside of my foot and it KILLS ME. It is only on my left foot. I’ve developed this corn from my old pair of lamelo 2s as they had a spot in the inside that dug into the outside od my shoe. What do you reccomend? I now wear harden 8s and they feel way better as they don’t dig into my foot however the corn is still there and it hurts walking on my day to day basis
Lack of lateral stability is absolute spot on here! I was playing in these and sprained my ankle moving laterally so badly that I fractured my 5th metatarsal. These shoes are unusable for basketball
Hey Zach i love the idea but what about using the Isoplate from the Jordan Luka line? I feel like the 2 and 3 version of the Isoplate, riding up the side of the shoe would be lighter and introduce even more speed to the shoe?
Is it good for a person with plantar fasciitis looking for additional support on my heel and a good basketball shoe with good cushion support on the heel.
Hey Doc i really love your reviews and it’s helping me a lot but at 1 side kinda confuses me to buy a shoe from your channel cus there are many good shoes :D , at the moment am tryna consider buying a basketball shoe and I found that lining liren 4 v1 & v2 has a good quality (and price ofc) so can you please review that shoe thankss 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Nike already fixed the instablity issues in the form of the G.T.Cut Academy . If they were to replace renew with zoom X and add a shank you would have what you are envisioning for the GTC3. Heck!, even if they just replace renew in the GTCA with React or keep the renew and just put zoom turbo you would have a God tier shoe. Also adding a good ridgid orthotic helped me with the instability of the GTC3 but GTCA > GTC3 IMO.
@@FootDoctorZachtrue,i did later add that if we could add a shank. However, the GTCA is a much more stable shoe. I constantly find myself picking them to play in over the GTC3 and most of my other shoes. I Feel more confident and they make me wanto move !
The GTCA has some lateral containment issues as well. I love them (i have two pairs of GTCA) and i agree with doc as i feel they are one step away from being amazingly phenomenal. Lateral containment is the only issue to fix. That being said GTCAs are still amazing !
I have played in the GT Cut 3 twice now and I love them. Did not experience instability issues whatsoever but I’m a heavier player with a wide foot, so I’m not sure if that makes a difference. The foam feels nice and the outrigger works very well for me.
@@hammo4168 I didnt exsperince a lot of stability either ,i dont consider myself a heavy player but when I did feel instability i think it was just because the shoe is kind of narrow and the foam is super soft .However, when I added my orthotic which is a little more Ridgid, I felt more stable but not as stable as I feel in the GTCA.
Shoe feels good for everything but shooting deep shots especially when you need to set your feet. The instability makes you feel inconsistent . I prefer a pair of Kobe’s or Wow 808 ultra for shooting due to the stability lockdown and court feel
I have them and I’ve pretty much worn every basketball shoe in the book, Kobe’s, kyries etc. they are a hell of a shoe but yes- they are a tad bit unstable
I'm gonna be impressed if Nike will listen to this guy and change the concept for the GT Cut 4. Nike don't care about their consumer they just dropped shoes and that's it.
As someone who constantly plays and performs well in untied skate shoes. I knew there was better shoes but I chose these only off the design. However it's definitely a step up from skate shoes.
I truly believe nike knows of the tweaks/changes to make this a top performer, but they're slowly rolling out these features to keep the sales coming year after year. Where as other shoe brands have to pull out all the bells and whistles to compete with the global brand that is nike
Zach please, help me decide, im about to buy my first basketball snickers, but im gonna use it to play volleyball, im not a pro player , and i dont like volleyball shoes , im between the lebron nxt gen ampd and the jordan 38 low pf , which one you recommend, love channel bro , greettings from peru 🫶🏽

Exactly the same setup for me. Feels great for someone rehabilitating a knee injury while still playing.

Love my cut 3s only thing I don’t love is they absorb sweat like crazy. Other than that they are a perfect performer
The GT Cut 3 reminds me of the Hyperdunk 2017 where Nike tried the react foam on basketball shoes for the first time. The hyperdunk 2017 cushion was quite a disappointment, but the traction was elite
The GT Cut 3 has incredibly plush cushion. I don't know about the longevity but the cushion is nothing like the hyperdunk 2017.

The X plate tear off was so cool! Insane to see you pull it off successfully
Thanks- it took forever
@footdoctor, I love how you’re also using the metric system on them conversions. A true legend 👑. The GT 3’s were ok-ish

How would you fix the Tatum 2???
The GT Cut 3 were stable for me. Because the bottom is wide. I had zero foot roll. Just bought the new Baby Blue GT Cut 3 and I could move well.
Hey Zach, do you have any recommendations for a field of study in college for someone who wants to design shoes professionally?

See if Nike fixed that on the Air Jordan 39?
puma has this new shoe that I've not heard anyone talk.about which is the scoot greys
These are causing blsiters to my pinky toes. I run and cut a lot. I prefer the academy for my style of play but wish the cushion was better

Not a real 1-1 since the academy has no shank either and roughly the same shape

they dont want them shoes to last too long, since there is no air bubble that can pop
You need to do a review of the Serious Player Only Ranger1!!!!
I love Zach's videos
NICE HAIR 🔥🔥
KD 17 review on the way ?
the Jordan 39 might address all these issues because they are probably gonna put at least a huge plastic piece with the zoomx foam.
We’ll see

These points are true however this shoe is meant for lighter players so the instability of the shoe is not as exaggerated for those types of players.
Ankle instability isn't weight dependent
Zoom GT Cut 4. Designed by the Doc himself. Mark the date! 😂

Nike will not do it. Their target is to have a lot of sales. Business is business. They can make the best shoe with all the tech but they will not.
I don’t think I ever heard you more disappointed in a shoe lol
💯🔥
You would think bronny would be on here
Cut it 3 times! then put it in the trash 3 times! Shame Nike 3 times!
