As I understand it (my own TD-3 is on a FedEx truck headed my way), the seven tracks (in which you chain patterns) can only use patterns from their associated group. So building a chain in Track 4 (e.g.) can only use patterns from Group II. I offer this explanation in the hopes that I understand it myself! 😜
The interface is well designed and I wish the Behringer software was as friendly. Unfortunately, the software has a severe bug in its communications with the device, which results in the wrong pitch being set. To replicate the bug, try sequencing the same note in quarter, eighth, or sixteenth patterns and see if the device actually repeats the same note again and again and again. My experience is that it doesn't, and when I opened the pattern that 303 Patterns wrote in Behringer's SynthTribe software, the notes were not the same, and matched the pattern I was hearing. I suspect that there's one or two minor mistakes somewhere in the source code that is causing this problem, but 303 Pattern's author(s) haven't fixed it since I noticed it. (They also don't seem interested in hearing bug reports.) I don't know if it affects other patterns, but I suspect that most people don't notice it immediately if they're making wild patterns with lots of pitch changes. But if you're making a simple, familiar pattern, you may notice the problem.
Exactly the same experience I've had. I was so excited and happy with software for 2 weeks, then wanted to do some longer patterns and was getting a lot of wrong notes. I'm so bummed, I was really getting into it.
Nice recommendation, thank you, gonna give it a go. I really like my td3 and enjoy the challenge of trying to program patterns, but struggle to get them sounding how I want.
That's really neat, I'll have to try it. My behringers are sat in their boxes to one side because I don't relish dealing with the interface. It'd be nice to hear it in real time as I draw the sounds in. Cheers!
i have found a way to scribe pattern i have abl3vst and in the séquencer you Can see where accent slides ... are placed so you Can easly reproduce them on the internal harware memory
Great video! When you connected the behringer to the computer via USB did you use an audio interface or direct to the computer? Having some problems with getting my computer to recognise it
Helpful video -thank you. I keep running into an issue where the software preview plays what i programed correctly but the TD-3 plays wrong notes when i press play on it; the patterns, accents and slides translate to the TD-3 but not the notes unless there is an unbroken string of notes (no rests). Suggestions anyone?
I’ve never understood what people find difficult about the TB303 sequencer (which is what the TD3 hardware replicates exactly) It’s a dream to use. So much more intuitive than a piano roll. Music is an aural medium, not a visual one.
I find it very easy to program the td-3...anyone have any questions hit me up, the manual is not very helpful. The visual aspect of this program is cool. I wish they programed them to just show regular music notation. This grid notation is not easy to see the melody playing, but if its what these tech companies are giving us I will learn to adapt. Imagine how cool ot would look of all those melodies were written on a tiny sheet music. Also...he says that this may break your instrument at the end folks..bro...have that disclaimer at the beginning...thank you for the video! 😎🐞🎶
Hi there. I have a somewhat stupid question maybe. Is it possible to use the TD-3 to play along with played music while doing a dj session? Or if I wanted to say another way: can I create crazy effects with the TD-3 on the songs that I play on my dj set show ?
yeah its feasible. if your dj decks (i guess cd or file based) has a midi or sync output then the td can follow tempo otherwise youll have to do it by ear. it technically plays back preprogrammed patterns if using onboard sequencer but you could use any other midi sequencer or keyboard to trigger its sound externally. just remember your external gear needs to be set to same midi channel as the TD. things like accent, slide etc probably wont work unless you program into the external sequencer their respective midi cc command, if this is actually available. hope that helps. jb x
I like the way the interface works but the site is buggy as hell. Slides don't get sent as slides, accents don't get stored as accents, wrong pitch gets stored. Too bad, this could have been a killer tool.
Good question - Trying to apply apply slides + accents Proves to be difficult with Ableton and saving your patterns direct to the machine can't be done from ableton. As far as I Know.
Cool but only to experiment, there seem to be some errors. Sometimes the preview button plays a different button than the machine on the same slot. Lost some cool patterns this was. But nice toy.
That depends on your pc but I would send the clock from your pc to the 303 and try not to use too many vsts , render your midi in to samples to save on cpu. record your 303
I find this particular pattern tool very temperamental . Quite often it doesn't recognise I've changed notes. Also I can see no way of adding ties. You can only add notes or rests. Unless I'm missing something? A real shame because I like the visual interface. Behringer's app and Amit's TD-3 pattern tool work just fine though.
@@agustingoya It's for TD-3 only. It is pre-configured for using with TD-3 preset groups etc. You can try to using it with MS-1 but I think it only mess up with Your presets. Nothing else.
@@Fabbroz975 Click on the gear icon in the top right when you're on the website version. In the left column, near the bottom, I think there was a link to download it. I can't tell for sure because it says "the app may already be installed" there on my browser, now. Let me know.
Lead could be broken or Its a mono synth so usually it would only use on channel if your speaker has mono setting it should fix it if not try using the headphone socket
Oh my God! My TD-3 is actually fun to use now.
Who ever made this deserves a nobel prize.
It’s more fun to program the OG way
I mean, I'm already seasoned at my behringer but it's nice to be able to actually SEE whats happening. wow!!!!
This makes making patterns so much easier than Behringer software.
Heaps more versatile than the behringer software. Made a couple of killer patterns and even felt like I knew what I was doing.

I have the same problem. The pitches do not match the edited notes. Huge bug.

It´s a mystery behringer didn´t program their plugin to work like this from the beginning
They may implement new software features in the future.
so much better than the behringer synthtribe tool

This app is soooooooooooooooo much easier and faster than trying to program patterns on the machine.
you can also in the3 daw triger midi from abl3 vst into the td3 Channel input
Oh my god really I must try this
Can't seem to get the patterns written into the TD-3. Have no idea what I have set wrong. Thx!

This is exactly the video I needed! Is there a program like this for the Behringer Crave?
I hope so

This looks amazing, I had a quick look from a mobile and it seems an online service, can it be downloaded and used offline?
wow nice more plz

Is there such a thing for Microfreaks?
Thank you so much!

I will look into this for a new video but it can definitely be done
How do you program the open circle link note in this software?Anyone any thoughts
It is just MIDi connected, so no risk to break your TD-3, but some risk to overwrite some patterns
Is there an equivalent of this to be able to use on iOS / Mac devices please - the website says not usable with iOS. Any help greatly appreciated
it doent read the basslines off my TD-3 correctly for me?
Je dis Bravo !!
Thank you
the preview function do no play exactly the same patern often for me, is it the same for you ?
They do mention its experimental not a solid thing but definitely on the right path
Hey Mark, how do you go up an octave on this function?
the grid is the full 3 octaves
I like the way the interface works but the site is buggy as hell. Slides don't get sent as slides, accents don't get stored as accents, wrong pitch gets stored. Too bad, this could have been a killer tool.
How do you download the midi file of the pattern you’ve created on this app?
I just bought the yellow one
I'm jealous
Hope this is not a stupid question but why wouldn't you just sequence directly inside of a midi clip in Ableton?

Does that work with a Roland TB-3?
Not sure I only have a TD-3 worth a shot
can i create a pattern in ableton midi channel and play that pattern on td3 without a freaking latency and what do i need ?

what means "use at your own risk" ?
Just means they won't be held responsible for any issue the site causes if. It accidentally breaks your device
is it works on TD-03 from Roland ?
Dunno Haven't tried
so how do i connect the td3 to pc it has a weird usb panel
It's a USB A lead or printer USB cable
Why does my Behringer only have sound coming out the left speaker?

Is it Mac compatible?
I don’t see why not so long as you use chrome.
anyone know a similar program?
Behringer Synth tool
It won't connect to mine for some reason.
Perhaps changing the midi modes on your device
it worked yesterday, now i can't hear anything wtf
Check to see what mode your set to try internal midi mode
Dont work on iOS /iPhone """
Always was a bit apprehensive about the programming this without any visual feedback. This settles it, td3-mo incoming..
