Hi y’all!! We haven’t really updated y’all about what married life is like since the wedding video came out! We decided to do a Q&A today so answer the most asked questions we’ve had since joining the newly wed life lol!!

It’s refreshing to see another young married couple not jumping into being parents immediately. My husband and I are both working on our master degrees and I find it so fulfilling. But the pressure of family and friends makes me feel like I am nothing more than a womb sometimes and that they don’t see how hard I’m working for my education. Everyone’s journey is different, I respect all the mothers out there, we’re just not in a good place for babies yet!
I feel this! We’ve been married 5 years so people nonstop ask us but my husbands still in school & I’m just starting my career. This is definitely not the time for babies!
Maybe you should create a podcast to talk about the things (IYKYK), I think a lot of people are interested to learn. Sending you lots of love and again congrats! ❤️🙌🏻

But what if her kids, who have a hyphenated last name, marry someone who also has a hyphenated last name. Then you have four last names, on top of a first and middle. Its just ridiculous. Either take the mans last name or take the womans. Otherwise it creates issues for future generations.
@@NathanM4A1 i don't know if it's the same in the US, but here you can just take 1 name from the dad and 1 from the mum and you could create a new 2-word last name. Or you could just take the 2-word name of one parent
@@NathanM4A1 the kids can just have both parents name. In LATAM we do it like that. Is not popular that the woman takes the last name of the man. It is very prehistoric and patriarchy to do that.
So children have two last name and that is it. Simple.

I love that you guys are actually willing to talk about anything and be open and transparent about it (such as kids, first time, life) and you’re both so comfortable sharing. It’s not like it’s something that we all haven’t experienced or will experience and hearing others talk about this stuff helps make it more socially acceptable to ask how first times can be, struggles in life, and just showing that EVERYONE struggles and goes through things
I love how positive of a view you guys have on marriage. That's the way it's supposed to be! People always seem to make it this negative thing. I am so excited to get married in July! I love the marriage content, because I feel like my fiancé and I are similar to you both!

It's so interesting hearing this perspective on marriage. I have been together with my boyfriend for about 3 years, and lived together for about 3 years 😄 (We met when I was 20 and he was 24) We know we want to get married in the future, but it really wouldn't change anything except the symbolic aspect of it ❤️

When I first married my husband we implemented the whole “don’t let the sun go down on your anger” because everyone told us that was the big secret to a successful marriage. We quickly realised that we needed to adapt it. We found it’s unrealistic to completely solve every argument in one night, and for me especially it’s more helpful to leave the argument for some time and get some perspective. We try to go to bed not feeling totally mad at each other, but sometimes forgiveness, understanding and reconciliation take more than one night - just my two cents on the matter!

Y’all should make a separate account for you and Asa for couples content like your first time! Because a lot of us who grew up watching y’all are now (like me) in our 20s and definitely “old enough” to hear about *it*
I was 20 and my husband 23 when we got married (last year). We had a lot of criticism about getting married young, but we knew (just like y’all) as soon as we met each other that we’d be together forever. Funny enough, he is an identical twin, so his brother lived with us before going into the military and it has been rough for him. So I totally get y’all’s struggles there. We also moved to a different state for work a month after getting married. We just had our first baby two months ago and are loving spending all of our time together as a little family. It’s funny to compare your situation with ours last year, they are so similar! I’m so happy for you two and hope the best in your future together!

I cannot sleep if we try to go to bed upset. So we usually end up working it out before falling asleep anyways. Just a lot later at night than it would have been if we tried earlier.
I definitely feel you on the “people won’t leave you alone about kids” thing… I understand it’s a struggle when you’re choosing to wait, but also it’s an immensely hurtful experience when you’re unsuccessfully trying to conceive. Being constantly reminded that something is failing or not working out is painful and I wish people would just mind their business. Like, let’s do a different “small talk” please.

My husband and I got married at 21 and 25. We had only ever been together with each other and lived together a couple years before we were married. Marriage is different. We don’t know how to explain it (almost 10 years in now). It was like a month or so into our marriage that we realized it felt significant. It made us feel more secure in our relationship. Idk, I still can’t explain it. Because the day to day nothing changed, but it carried a weight with it that felt good.
It might not change a thing relationship wise but legal wise it will. Like right now, if one passes away there is no protection for the other. Nothing to fall back on. Insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, etc. Marriage is more than a piece of paper. It is a legal, binding agreement.

This. I’ve been and lived with my husband for 30 years. We’ve been married for 13 years. Our kids are 13 and 19. You do the math. Getting married didn’t change a thing. We committed to each other very young and sealed it by having kids. Getting married was just a legal procedure, nothing more.

It’s interesting hearing y’all’s perspective on married life because my fiancé & I live together & we have since about 9 months before getting engaged so a lot of the things that are new for you guys as a married couple are old news for us & we aren’t even married yet😂 so happy for you guys!!
This motivates me so much to keep working on myself, because I tried a relationship and got hit in the face with trauma related complications and couldn’t do it. So I’ll do all the hard and difficult work, so I can get to the beauty they have ❤️

We were literally greeting our guests right after our ceremony (so like 5 minutes in to marriage) and we got 2 or 3 people asking about kids! As for getting married early, my husband and I were 21. We were best best friends before, and we knew very quickly that we’d get married.25 years on, we’re so happy. I don’t think we missed anything.
