    Imma city guy now but still have a bit of Ozarks in me. Help the neighbors sort of thing.
    Still have 20 wooded acres down near Decaturville, East of 5 highway (Willed to the kids).
    Love the Ozarks, beautiful place to visit.

    Beautiful autumn colors! Lakes of the Ozarks, boating, pontooning, water skiing, fishing, swimming, morning "diamonds on the water," lots of birds (Misssouri State Blue Birds), flowering dogwood trees, tall, tall old trees, dappled shade everywhere, pretty town of Warsaw, Branson theaters and tourist areas, the huge Mark Twain National Forest, wild roses, wild blackberries, box turtles, persimmon trees, pawpaw trees, crappie and blue gill fish to fry, quartz crystals on rocks, many caves to explore, Ozarks honey, horseback riding, bike trails, hiking trails, public camping and grilling, public beaches, ... so much more. Come for a visit! 😃

    That was probably me commenting about the water moccasins out there. Being from CA we have plenty of rattlers, gopher and king snakes. I am not really afraid of snakes, even poisonous ones. Over the weekend I was in the thick brush helping a friend retrieve his RC glider when two rattlers went off near me. I couldn't see them, but I heard them and slowly made my way to fetch his glider. Water moccasins I envision sneaking up my swim trunks and biting my privates, that to me is more worrisome then being bitten on a leg. I have been looking, and I am still interested around Table Rock Lake. Some of the reasons are that it is different from where I live now. My views run conservative, so I would be around like minded people. I also believe if you move to a new place whether it's in the Ozarks or Italy, you go with the flow. It's important to get to know the people, customs, and traditions if you truly wish to be accepted into a community.

    Pseudoephedrine (decongestant) is a major ingredient in Meth. When the feds made it so you could only purchase small amounts and had to show ID to purchase it made manufacturing meth in large batches in the USA very difficult. If you have to smuggle in the ingredients, you might as well just smuggle in the meth. Meth was made in most rural areas of the US, it smelled so they needed a place away from people to do so. Not was being made. Is being made now in the Ozarks mountains. I have dealt with living on a meth mountain myself. At least 2 drug places on the mountain now and yes the sheriff has been told. Don't act like it's been fixed. Many Sheriff just look the other way .

    """Carrie is the best.""" We've watched all her videos, and used her and her son as our agent to move here finally 6 months ago. She worked with us for over a year and ultimately helped us buy a beautiful home. Carrie and her son will go out of their way to help their clients. She has such a beautiful sole. She is very typical of the kind of native people you will find here. Not all, But by far most. Best advice I can give a new person who has never been here. DON'T buy sight unseen or online, or rely solely on photos. You must visit to truly understand what the the area is like. We vacationed here for years and truly didn't know as much about the area as we thought we did. There were growing pains, but now we love it and have many friends.

    I'm a Missourian. I've lived in the city, small towns & in a heavily wooded rural area. There are many grandparents raising grandkids in the rural areas due to the meth problem. My former boss & husband blew their house up cooking meth & they both died. There are many positive things to say about the Missouri's Ozarks and rural areas . The major problems revolve around the lack of good paying jobs. The town's jobs are mostly service industry jobs such as Walmart, fast food restaurants & nail salons. The stable places to work are taxpayer funded such as schools & hospitals ( there are many medicare /medicaid recipients that sustain the hospital). Many of the young people join the military. So if you want to move to the Ozarks or other rural Missouri areas , bring your money with you.

    I lived in Indiana for 10 years and I did not like it completely flat with just a lot of corn to look at. Also, we had horrible tornadoes all through March April May to June.
    What are the chances of experiencing tornadoes? I know absolutely nothing about the Ozarks. Just trying to move back to be closer to my family that are a couple states away.

    • @LivinginBranson
      @LivinginBranson  2 місяці тому +1

      Hello! thanks for watching! As you know, tornados are unpredictable. The worst one ever was on Joplin, and typically they favor flat land where they can get momentum, they are very common in places like Oklahoma and Kansas, but south of interstate 44 as you get into the hills they just don't happen here like that, although we do have warnings. I think you have a greater chance of being protected in a hilly landscape, that's just talking from experience living here.

    Thank you so much for your video, my wife and I are seriously considering moving to Branson, but we are concerned about the HOA FEES. They are exploding in Florida, and my friends are selling one in Michigan afraid that there HOA is going way up. Us being retired on a fixed income are afraid to buy a condo for this reason. I love the Ozarks we have family that live in Gravois Mills. But I’d would love a condo in Branson. Anyway are you hearing any future projections of raising HOA fees?

    • @LivinginBranson
      @LivinginBranson  3 місяці тому +2

      Hi! I have not heard of any COA that's raising their fees. Usually they do a special assesment if they have a big update or repair to do. The best thing to do is visit with the COA's to see what's on their schedule the next few years and see if they have a visible things that need to be addressed with their maintenance.

    I live in Northwest Kansas people are about the same. When it comes to wanting to know who you are and what you do every 2.5 seconds. But here they don’t want anybody to live here . They act real nice selling peoples houses for way more money than what they’re worth. Then make their lives hell till they move and do it again. If you buy an old farm like I did, they will just poison your family for years until you move. I’m a stubborn Irishman so I have been here 30 years to help the farmers as a mechanic. But when I switched to growing organic food suddenly I must go. as you can see on my videos, the last five years they have just destroyed my home, poisoned my animals and my grandkids. you would think growing food locally for children would be a good thing. Not where they grow GMO corn for gasoline.

    • @LivinginBranson
      @LivinginBranson  3 місяці тому +2

      I will have to check out your videos, my folks grow organic, just enough food for themselves and us too and they usually have extra. For large farmers doing it for a living it's more about how big of a crop you can bring in at harvest time, and how easy and cost effective it can be. It's a business and a different mindset. Unfortunately a lot of big crops like soy and corn are GMOs, which I don't like either. Most farmers want to know what other farmers are doing and it's a little competitive. My father in law tried to grow organic soy beens and the yield was just not as great and then he was afraid to try again, so yeah it's risky for them and I wish there was more education on growing organics for large scale farmers out there.

      @@LivinginBranson we have one farmer here that makes compost tea out of manure. You have to heal the soil first. Get biological life going again that the chemicals have killed. It takes a couple years. I would recommend Gabe Brown. He is the master.

    I like this content.
    Just know that there are plenty of labs still out here. Opioids are also a problem.
    Branson is bad at it's CORE, especially after the drug rehab scam to get more workers in the area didn't quite go the way some wanted. The rehab part didn't work, but most of the addicts stayed and they struggle to keep a job and housing (houseless people don't complete the Censis information).
    I love this area.
    If you move here, or just moved here, please don't try to change it.
    Keep the SLOZARKS Slow! Don't bring your fast paced city problems here also.
    FYI, I think the comments meant Klan not clan. There are a lot of Southern Pride supporters in the area, and when outsiders only see a flag they get triggered, but when they ask questions and carry on conversations they see more than just a flag.

      Hey thanks for your comment! Yes I agree many homes are stuck in a 90s time warp..it really depends on the location of the home and if it has some kind of special feature like a lake view.
      If you find a home with the right location and view for example and there may be new construction nearby, or others are going for a higher price, it's always worth it to by something outdated, and fix the cosmetics. Most older homes are built well, so it may be just a matter of paint, flooring and cabinets & countertops. Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have! 417-230-3957

    The only snake I really do not like is the copperhead. The reason is, they are so well camouflaged and they do not move until it is to late, as part of their hiding.
    This is why they bite so many people. If you could just see them their would be no problems.

It stinks so bad we've been forced to sleep at friends houses at times and you get an awful taste in your mouth just from the smell. You have no idea what the Ozarks meth mountains are like.
