  • The Mombacho Volcano is about 25 minutes away from Granada, Nicaragua. We took a bus and then a tuk-tuk to get to the entrance: from there, you have the option of walking to the summit or being driven for 22 USD per person...
The 6km walk/drive to the crater is pretty steep but you have about 3-4 stops along the way. One of those is the criadero where they breed reptiles and amphibians in captivity: the girl working at the zoo showed us iguanas, turtles, several species of lizards/chameleons as well as frogs. My personal favourite was the red-eyed frog, an extremely colourful Central American species. Keep in mind that few people in Nicaragua speak English so basic Spanish skills will definitely come in handy as you can conclude by my stumbling through beginner Spanish sentences.
I will post another video about the Mombacho Volcano, followed by more videos about Granada's attractions, namely its unique colonial architecture. There will be plenty more material from Nicaragua: you can let me know what you think in the comment section below. Also, if you enjoy my content, feel free to like this video and subscribe to my channel.
    Enjoy the video!
