    I can resonate with you!
    The harsh homesick, the feeling of lost when someone used to get so close and had so many deep special connections with you just left😞
    The housemates part is so heartwarming and cute ✨btw

    Lots of memories at an international house as an exchange student, hit all the points spot on! Though my biggest issue was that many of the other exchange students were very messy and rowdy. This is a big reason I want my own place.

    i just had the idea to create a new goal and study the japanese language abroad and maybe have a life there. I have been researching for a week and will be doing more research. But this video you created completely steered me away from finding apartments and i believe that is great because the idea of being able to live with people and experience things with them and to even bond with them sounds so more exciting than living by myself in an apartment. i truly appreciate this video and your input. hopefully i have more than enough money saved up in a year so i can begin my new journey to completing my goal in japan! THANK YOU!

      Oh it really makes me happy to hear that, thank you! The good thing about a Share House is that you can move easily and fast if wanted and needed. And I think if you wish at some point to have your own apartment in Japan, you can do so, but at least you don't have the pressure and can visit apartments in person, which is a big advantage!
      I wish you all the best for your Japan prep 🤗 Let me know how it goes!

      I do have a question though, how do you guys manage the laundry and showering situation? Is it chaotic or do y'all have a specific dynamic for it?

    • @jessicaao400
      @jessicaao400  3 роки тому +3

      Aww! This makes me really really happy to hear! ❣️
      I’m sure you’ll have a blast in Osaka. Kansai people are fun! 😁
      As for your question. It really depends in the smaller share house we only had one laundry per floor and one shower. So it was sometimes busy, but everyone kind of had a different work schedule so it worked out most of the time.
      As for my current share house, no problem at all, every floor has 3 laundry machines and in the first floor we have additional ones. Also we have a lot of shower rooms and even bath tubs 😊
      Some Share house companies which provide English services are GGhouse, Sakura house and Oakhouse. Some of them even offer apartments to rent.

    Having learned how cheap they are per month, I'm wanting to stay at a share house the next time I visit Tokyo. A month would give me plenty of time to not only indulge in my hobbies, (Anime, games and manga) but it would give me more time to explore the city, and check out all the cool stuff it has to offer.

    • @jessicaao400
      @jessicaao400  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah that’s true, definitely cheaper than a hotel! You just might have to reserve it early, as they might favor people who want to stay longer than a month.
      Also if you spend less money on hotel you can spend that on more merch🤩🤩🤩

    Omg thank you for this very informative and positive video! I do hope you decide to get your own place so you can get your cat back🐈 ❤️ I have two cats and couldn’t live without them, no human on this planet can compare to the love of a pet. Stay safe! Please make more vids of ur life in Japan!😁

      @jessicaao400  2 роки тому

      Thank you for your comment ❤️ I just moved into an apartment. Unfortunately in Tokyo almost all apartments do not allow pets 🥺
      But the main reason I’m leaving Sonic with my friend in Germany is, because he has been taking care of him ever since I left for Japan. He’s taking such good care of him and they got so attached to each other since he had to start remote work due to covid. It would be egoistic to just bring him here (also the struggles with flight etc) just for me to have him. If that makes sense. Even though it breaks my heart💔

    Hi Jessica,
    May I ask you something? I have been looking at some share houses in Tokyo since I will be moving there in a couple of weeks and the big ones (50 - 80 rooms) always look way better but also seem intimidating. Do you have any more tips concerning big share houses. Or when you should consider small/big ones? I will be staying in Tokyo for 6 months so I want to make the correct decision haha

      The name of the Sharehouse company is Oakhouse the Sharehouse itself is Social Residence Ojima. It is a bit pricey compared to a regular Sharehouse. I definitely recommend checking out the company Borderless as they’re really doing a lot in regards of community in their Sharehouses and organise a lot of events for their tenants to meet each other 😊

      I found out about this Sharehouse company through a coworker and the one before that was organized by the agency I went to Japan with.
      I personally can recommend the Sharehouse company Borderless. Many of my friends live with them and they do a lot in terms of building communities!
      Other companies would be:
      Sakura house
      Oakhouse
      GG House
      Hope that is helpful 😊

      @jessicaao400  3 роки тому

      In my current one guests are allowed you can even invite up to 6 people and spend time with them in the shared areas. But due to the restrictions because of corona, we are "only" allowed to have guests in our own room.
