Finished beans week before, got 49 acres of corn to go, before the last rain had corn down to 13% got half inch of rain friday evening back aeound 15 16 now. Red combine is BLACK. good corn and bean crop for lack of water, milo was good as well hope to start planting our wheat wednesday. Get field disked and be ready to roll bean planter has been ready for a week now.
For your white mold soybeans have you done soybean tissue tests during the growing season to figure out what your secondary or micronutrient deficiency is and then correct it with an in-season foliar application of that nutrient or nutrients to improve plant health and potential yield?
Crazy how 3 county’s west makes such a huge difference with weather. Been raining here everyday since last Thursday. Good old Lake Michigan. We are going to try to start harvest today get some beans done before more rain tomorrow. 🤦🏼♂️
Good job knocking out those beans Nathan, years ago we put great northern beans on a 6 year CRP and had yield losses also. 150+ acres is gettin it🇺🇸💪🏻🇺🇸
About the field with the patch of ragweed. If you don’t cut those down, won’t they go to seed, and if so will that section not be full of that weed next year?
@BorderViewFarms I question the spreading of white mold? If it's equipment ? Is it air born? It has to get to the field some how, is there a way to slow down the spreading of white mold?
I'm sure the equipment spreads it. It can be air borne although infections come from below the plants not above so airborne spores would just start hotspots for future years.
I was mowing pasture on an open station tractor, a hawk swept down from behind me and snagged a rabbit just of to the left in front of me. Scared me at first. It is common to hawks waiting in the trees as I’m mowing.
I like when you watch farmers harvest the crop and talk about bushel numbers and say I’ll take that like they wouldn’t take it or like they’re just gonna leave it in the field it’s kind of like the lottery you win some you lose more
Nathan, does white mold affect the bean itself or just the plant thereby not allowing for bean growth? So is there white mold in the beans harvested in the affected areas i guess I'm asking.
@@BorderViewFarms just wandering i agree on cutting beans they can be hell when it gets later in the fall and less sun to keep them going threw the combine
You have to pay to get chicken manure? Around here they beg people to spread manure on the land. Some people don’t want it. We take as much as they want to spread. It’s the best fertilizer. It’s manure from pigs and beef and dairy in my area. Cheers
The dairy manure is or at least used to be free but chicken litter is nutrient dense and overall a much better source than the dairy manure so yeah they can charge for it.
@@BorderViewFarms is there a big difference in yield between dairy and chicken? Guess you could let the dairy double or triple own on manure. It’s definitely better for the soil then using conventional fertilizer unfortunately we are lucky if a 3rd of our land gets manure.
it seems that if you guys had the manpower another combine maybe not a 780 but 670 or an older sts series just to help with getting beans off would be huge….seen other farm youtubers get 250 or even 300 acres done in a day with two machines… i know you guys don’t have the manpower to do that but man it would be nice when you are racing the rain
Thank You Nathan for the Shout Out to Kaleb.
He has been hurting pretty bad today.
You brightened his day 🥰

Solid work training those boys to replace Brock.
If interacting with a fan, and wishing him well doesn’t deserve a thumbs up nothing will❤

Great to see the boys with you!
Love that 8RX and the sweet combine. On the 8 RX do all the trax run all the time or can you disengage the front trax?
I love your videos

are the seed companies working to take care of white mold thru genics? and what about a soil fumigant, is there any thing that would work? cost?
Great job on farming and videos
I am near Findlay ohio
Did you try out the turn automation in the combine yet?
No I keep forgetting
Good morning
Good Morning

They would but the corn herbicides are pretty effective at preventing them from emerging.
Is there any ground treatment for White Mold that you incorporate in the soil during tillage?
There's a product you can spray on the residue that's supposed to kill the white mold. I don't know if it works
Are you decatamanting the equipment after the white mold harvesting. If not, the equipment is a super spreader of white mold. Would you think?
What do you want me to do?

Would corn on corn work in the heavy white mold fields work or is the ground to light for that

Curios, when Phil runs the grain cart, does he use machine sync?
Yes he does!
Can you please show the view from the cameras used to trim the combine setings a bit more? This fascinates me.

Outstanding day and terrific video 😎🇺🇸
He said the word.....😂
Tell them to sue me

It kills the plants keeping the beans from developing
@@BorderViewFarms thanks for the reply.
Bet the neighbors love that chicken liter , there a farmer here in Tennessee his neighbors are fighting him over him spreading it
How much faster can you harvest 30" row beans?
None they combine about the same
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I thought you could not say the seed company in the video
when do you see getting in some corn hear a lot of guys are in corn and around that 16 to 18% moisture
I highly doubt any of our corn is that dry. I'm not sure when we'll start corn. When we can run beans we need to run beans.

How about a giveaway on a sweatshirt?
How wide is your soybean header?

I love your channel I’m micro farmer got me 2 tractor brush hog mower and go get my mf combine 540 wheat header

What does crp stand for?
Conservation Reserve Program. Basically the government paid the previous owner to leave it as grass and not farm it.
How many new words have you learned helping with spelling? 😊
