I watched the video all the way thru. I enjoyed the process and understand the thought process. I work with Solidworks, Cura, and have access to a full machine shop. Keep the videos coming!
Wow, thank you for taking the time to watch all the way through and the comment! I have been spending more time with Fusion 360 as the go-to for designing parts but when I need to design a part up against the truck, I do still use Revit.
Man I always wonder where people like you are coming from. Everey thing you do speaks quality. Content, thought, work, camera. Great, just great. Soon you'll have half a million followers.😄
Wow - very kind words. Appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. I def enjoy all the aspects of the process, including the filming and editing so hopefully I can continue to improve and make these videos even better in time.
Awesome dude, what a pain the rear using that Losi Raptor body, depending on your wheelbase the Losi body is a stretched/bloated version of the Traxxas raptor, molds are literally identical as far as I can tell, even the injection molded grill and hood vent but the Traxxas body is a 13 inch wheelbase vs the Losi Raptor is 14.6 inch. Very cool to see it progress.
I looked around for a bit but my options were a 13-inch wheelbase body meant for the Slash or the 14.6-inch wheelbase body meant for the Rey. No one is making a Yeti Score body anymore and the ones I see on eBay are being priced gouged for the little-to-no supply. I do kind of like the Rey body setup because it is a bit more true to scale. It just requires a lot more effort to mount and remove the panels. Now that I am looking into it, according to the internet, the Yeti Score wheels base was only 1cm shorter than the Rey... 360mm vs 370mm.
im incredibly amazed that you managed to design that in Revit, im an ACP in Revit, aCad and Inventor and ive never managed to understand revit let alone design something in it lol
Awesome build, I appreciate the work and quality you are doing. I've been wanting to build my own chassis with steel wire and I have a bajA rey I'm using for my plans.
Pretty nice, good ideas.. I appreciate that u share it whit us.. Definitely subscribe to urr channel. I'm pretty new to trophy trucks.. I got a crawler and an Hpi Baja that I built out of parts from a 5T and 5Sc to get a littel bit more a TT look.. I was wondering, ore maybe u can help me by telling me what rear axel u are using and what front and middle differential u are using.. I think everything else is custum made right? I will try to built me one for shure! Also u weld everything.. Do u think hard brazing will hold the abuse also.. Ore do u think welding is nessesary. Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Germany.
Thanks for the questions! The rear axles is a MetalConcepts axle. Check 949designs.com - they distribute MetalConcepts gear now. The front an middle diff is from a Associated Nitro TC3, which isn't very practical. The original concept of this truck was to use as many parts from my NTC3 as possible. Sadly, as the build progressed, fewer and fewer parts from the NTC3 were kept. The front and center diffs were pretty much all that remained. Right now, the truck is RWD only. I haven't even connected the front diff. I'm not convinced it will hold up to the abuse.
@@JosephStampfl thx that will help me.. Ok I heard that the most guys use the front diff from a traxxas slash 4x4. Theroraticly I think I can use nearly any middle diff, as long as the motor sit's in the middel. Looking forward too ure videos. Keep it up 👍😊
Thanks, Paul. Are you referring to the black plastic side side panels? If so, that's an ABS plastic I picked up from McMaster Carr. Before I created the black plastic versions, I created a cardboard template using those gift boxes you get for clothing (thin cardboard). Once the template was made, I traced it onto the ABS and cut it out. To bend the plastic, I used a blade to score a line (cutting maybe one quarter depth into the plastic) where I wanted it to bend and then CAREFULLY bent the plastic along the score line. ABS will bend along that score line and not crack which is great. HOpefully that answered your question. If not, let me know.
Thank's a lot for the answer@@JosephStampflthat helps me so far. One more questions: Where did you get the straps for the tire carrier? They look very nice Thank's
eBay - can't seem to find the exact version that has the ratchet hardware but these are close. I took the 3-point strap setup apart and made it into a single strap that you see on my truck: www.ebay.com/itm/203540391294?hash=item2f63f3e57e:g:d6MAAOSwAEhd8E6q
The wheelbase and overall size of the chassis/cage was built to fit the Yeti Score body. I've since increased the wheelbase and track width to fit the Baja Rey.
Duuude, these plastic parts tie in this truck so well!
Thanks. Trying to make them fit in as best as I can!

offset each edge distance needed and you will get the center of hole in two steps

I've been using Revit since its early days dating back to 1998 so I've had some practice.

Where did you get that scale strap from?
Sorry for the late reply - what strap are you referring to, the suspension limit strap or the rear spare tire straps?
Can you please share this cage to us it will really helpful to those of who hoping to build this type of truck in future.
Not exactly sure how I could share it.
@@JosephStampfl every rod length :D to cut our own :D
So this is based on a real truck, the yeti score and the baja rey am i right?
The wheelbase and overall size of the chassis/cage was built to fit the Yeti Score body. I've since increased the wheelbase and track width to fit the Baja Rey.
@@JosephStampfl thank you
Where can I find a 3d cad file for building a trophy truck?
I'm not sure. I made mine from scratch.
