I went on the Allure and already thought it was tons of fun, can't believe how much they added! I really like RCI the best, they have reputable captains and I don't even care about the destinations, there's so much on the ships to explore!

Already planning my first crusie on Harmony...vegas , mall , poolside, and beaches on the islands and lots of drinking in the sun....all in one package...PERFECT!!
You'll be amazed if you do. On one Royal Caribbean ship I went on which was Independence I'd say exactly as you suggest, Smaller than these and was mayhem, my worst cruise experience. My best have to be Allure & Harmony. Stunning ships that are so big everyone is so spread out.
When I saw that they have goddamn video screens in the interior rooms to create virtual balconies like you're actually looking outside, I shit down my damned pants. I can't believe we are that far. That's like Star Trek shit right there. No more stuck in a closet room. Even on the small interior rooms, you get an outdoor view!!

Hi Him, Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big RCCL fan and have 20 cruises with them under my belt. I enjoyed your review of the Symphony and I’m happy that they retained some of my favorite features from the Oasis which I like every much. With that said, I find it hard to believe that they adopted some features from the Anthem, the supposed “High Technology” ship. The bionic bartender is entertaining for about 5 minutes. If you see it make one drink, then you have seen the whole show. Order a drink, but do not expect an olive, a twist or any other garnish as it just will not happen. I was served a very disappointing martini. If you need to find a nice quiet seat on the Anthem, go to the Bionic Bar because there is no one there. I live in New Jersey and find it very convenient to leave from the Port Liberty cruise terminal but the only ship sailing from there is the Anthem. Although the Anthem is a beautiful ship we have been disappointed with the so-called hi-tech features. The WOW bands, which now have to be purchased, do not have all the functionality of the sea pass card and it is my understanding cannot be used to embark at a port. Years ago on the Explorer we were able to schedule shows, excursions and other activities using the TV in our cabin. This cannot be done on the Hi-tech Anthem. There are quite a few video screens scattered around the ship including one in each elevator lobby that performs a you are here function and the ability to find a destination but that is pretty much it. I always found the cutaway schematic just as helpful. We thought that the speciality restaurants on the Oasis were among the best we ever experienced. We were particularly impressed with Chops. The steaks, service and ambiance were unsurpassed. I will never again book the Chops on the Anthem. It was more expensive than the Chops on the Oasis, my steak was tough and tasteless and the ambiance was non-existant. My tables view consisted of the broadside of a life boat. The windows or should I say portholes, of the restaurant all presented views of the lifeboats and associated machinery. One of the things they got right on the Anthem is the 270 Lounge. It is a wonderful multipurpose area for relaxing or enjoying great entertainment and the 270 lives up to the Hi-tech claims. We are currently looking forward to cruises with NCL on the Breakaway and Bliss for a change of pace. The Bliss cruise was inspired by your review of that ship. We haven’t given up on Royal Caribbean, but the Anthem inspired us to take a look around the industry.
I hope one day I can get on it too. I've only been on one cruise in Asia so I feel like I still have a long way to go. Now I know what to expect on this amazing cruise ship.

This can be a good concept for a modern retirement home or rehabilitation facility. Of course they would have to reduce some unnecessary features and have a full blown hospital on it.
This was meant for cruise lovers like me. Why are u here if you hate cruising? Let folks decide for themselves if they like cruise ship. 95 percent of people who go on cruise ships usually can't wait to go again. The only drawback to me is that u don't stay on each island long enough to see much of the island.
This is very well done, Jim. I've seen some others too. By the way, you will find STX shipyards (St. Nazaire, France) on Google Earth very easily, and see Symphony of the Seas being built!
Been on Oasis twice and the Allure and Harmony once. This May will go on Symphony .The only reason is because my wife will not go on anything smaller. Every time we did she would get motion sickness.
