  • In this episode of HUNTR Podcast, we bring on our good friends Jeff Sturgis and Jen Buchner to talk October whitetails. Jeff has such a passion for whitetail deer hunting and specializes in habitat design. All the work we do in the spring and summer, whether that be planting food plots, creating cover, or creating buck bedding areas, is all for this time of year. The habitat we've created is now finally being used, trying to understand how these mature animals survive day-to-day. Enjoy this episode of HUNTR Podcast as we sit down with Jeff & Jen and talk late October hunting strategies!

Jeff Sturgis, just watching & learning from his UA-cam channel will result in more big bucks killed than EHD! Seriously, authentic guy & his food plot seed is better than anything out there.

@@MattJ25 you have apparently not watched enough of his content to come to such a conclusion. I can't relate to most of the people on this show like Ben Rising or the Drury brothers to where I hunt in NC but I still enjoy their perspective and camaraderie we still share.

@@MattJ25. Funny they did a video this year on no-till food plots they consulted on in New England. You might watch more GrowingDeer videos before you make such unfounded comments. The purpose of the controlled burns is to restore the native browse in its appropriate season. The native growth may never be hunted over. It’s for the overall health of the land and the wildlife.

After watching almost all of these guys' podcasts, it seems like these two guys are split down the middle. One guy is genuine, truthful, and actually cares about quality public land hunting and increasing access while decreasing hunter numbers from certain areas. The other... is basically two-faced for the sake of the podcast fame. He cares more about buying private land, baiting, and public land doesn't show up in his interests at all. Everyone knows who is who 👌

New drinking game. Everytime Jeremy says mmhmm while listening to someone talk take a drink. I bet you'll end up hammered. Great podcast as always! Try and get Don Higgins. He just killed another giant and has some apposing view points to Jeff. They are both great and show that you can kill bucks many ways

You guys absolutely must make it to your Illinois property next week with this major cold front rolling in through the week. As for you being discouraged about not seeing giants on camera, I certainly wouldn’t let that bother me. If you have does on your property I can assure you local giants WILL visit your property. Good luck!

Had to watch this one late because I got a buck on Tuesday evening, way too warm, but this killer evening stand had the right wind and that was the last day for at least a week where the wind would be right and this was only the second time I sat there after a particular buck, patients and being vocal with a grunt tube twice in a 3 hours sit was key, too much detail to explain but I love anytime Jeff is on, after all he is Habitat Jesus

I’m from Michigan and Jeff is the real deal. Unfortunately there’s more jealousy than we need in our ranks. I could name some names here but the infighting about being the greatest Michigan deer hunter started during Rompolas days serving on Commemorative Bucks of Michigan.I will say Jeff has never been jealous of anyone, but those of you suing other hunters over strategy, and those who verbally jab at those who harvest mature bucks need to shut-up. During my tenor with QDMA I witnessed the jealousy factor x 10, I stopped publishing my harvests because of the jealousy factor within its ranks and those individuals in Michigan opposed to APR’s. The truth is Jeff is a great example to follow and represents the hunting community better than the vast majority of big name hunters. Hate to reiterate this point but Jeff’s a great example of sharing his knowledge and helping hunters become better deer hunters…again Jeff is the real deal…the rest not so much…🎯🦌🦌👍
