SCARS Meeting: Mark Clayton N5AZQ - Talking With The ISS

SCARS Member Mark Clayton N5AZQ discussed how he has contacted the folks on the International Space Station (ISS). He showed how to do the same with a simple 5-watt handie-talkie (or 2) and low-cost antennas. He will show his sample connections and demonstrate the apps used to track where the ISS is and when it will be near!
The ISS equipment will also operate as a repeater when the on-board staff aren’t available to operate the equipment. This way, you can make VHF/UHF contacts with others in the “ISS footprint.” Come and learn how you can make contact with these outer space systems.
