      @@likhwadube5937 i am 45 and have been working on cars since i left school at 16 . So fair to say i have been doing it for a while . I agree somewhat to what you say . In respect that some clutch replacements are a total mare . But the mini is a simple and easy one to do . I stand by the point you don't need to remove the whole front end to do it . Might make it easier with more access . But you don't need to do that .

    • @likhwadube5937
      @likhwadube5937 4 роки тому

      Darren Frost Yes true, you don’t need to remove the whole front end. If you don’t, you would need to drop the subframe though and support the engine from above (front end removal is a lot more straightforward). I’ve met a guy who can drop the box on this Mini in 45mins, but even he doesn’t say it’s easy. Also true there are a lot more difficult clutch jobs, if you call this job easy then it will be interesting to know how much you would charge for this job.

    I love your videos and watch with so much interest, I have got to do a clutch on a friends Corsa B Combo van and just bought a 3 piece Transmech clutch for it brand new from ECP and am not kidding you with the discount code it cost me £10.88 i know it's not the best clutch in the world but the van has done over 230k miles and the lad only drives too and from work every day it doesn't carry any loads in the back, it has the 1.7 Isuzu engine in it and he loves it, with it being an old van i am just going to lift the engine part way out rather than splitting rusty ball joint bolts, exhaust has been replaced so no rusty problems thereand the rest is just fuel lines and wires so be easier.

      I work on anything. I don’t have much choice being self employed.
      But I always look carefully before I undo any single bolts. My aim is to strip down as efficiently without wasting much time. Some gearboxes are super heavy. When I pull them out extra care not to get injured is vital.
