I have been a season ticket holder for Gonzaga for 15 years and was able to watch Brynna light it up on the floor. Chicago is getting not only a great player but a great person who will do great things for them. Also has the quickest shot release I have ever seen.

Our players will play off of each other! Deshields will be the momma bear and calming force to reel them in. I love tue dynamics that the new personalities will bring. Especially with T-Spoon coaching them.
I just dont see Elizabeth Williams starting very long. Kamilla has played internationally and will show toughness that we have not seen in her college game. She will play up!

Bought my tickets to the home opener today! New to your channel & loving it. I’m a new fan to the Sky (sad I didn’t get to see the team in the Candace era). Not expecting much this year based on everything I’ve seen & heard - but hoping the games are full, the fan base is hyped, we win enough games to stay excited about the team, and the organization capitalizes on the momentum!

Facts! Have you saw how the Lynx welcomed Pili? They understood the assignment, I need Chicago not to fumble this with Kamila or Angel. They both bring additional fan bases that includes international interest.

I agree and I think a lot of these teams are underestimating the fanatical fanbase these players have developed over their college careers. Most people are not WNBA fans. Sad but true. We can look at the viewership numbers and see that. If the WNBA doesn't capitalize on the fanfare of these new recruits, they are going to squander this golden opportunity. Even Kate Martin, I know she's not on the team yet but just look at her Insta likes on the Aces posts. Anything that has to do with Kate Martin is off the charts but the Aces didn't release ONE video of Kate Martin from day 1 training camp. I don't care if you are going to keep her or not, you HAVE to use the publicity. I think with new players, the WNBA needs new marketing people, too. These people must be old and tired. Get someone in there with enthusiasm and someone who understands and can foresee the massive changes these players represent. You have to remove the old guard if you want to grow the league.

I think there are a select group of people Candace let know about her retiring before she announced it. So, I think that’s why the Aces and Anne were able to put something together so quickly. Plus, the Aces social team and organization is top tier. And the people respected her enough to not do like the ESPN folks do and let her make her announcement. I could be very wrong, but it makes sense to me. 😊

I am beyond disappointed in the lack of social media outreach from teams like the Sparks and Sky. Everyone knew this draft class would draw more eyes to the W yet these teams are dragging their feet with the coverage.

competition and Debt risk trying with or w/ o the Bulls support to fill the Big arenas;
The best move for the Current & potential new teams is to go to Mid / Power 5 College Towns
w/ Money & great Facilites, particularly ones w Smaller venues to Eliminate Debt Risk,
& play "selected" games @ Bigger arenas; The Sky need to re-locate to ILLINOIS
or NORTHWESTERN U both Financially Stable; Another Example is skipping Charlotte
and putting a team in Durham or Chapel Hill, the latter of which has 2 Arenas;
Use Carmichael @ UNC & Cameron @ Duke 10 M apart btw, to share Home Games, and the
Bigger Dean Smith Center, (the "Dean-Dome" for scheduled Big Matchups & over-flowing

Idk if I agree with it being an age limit 😅 while we all feel some of the vets should retire, if they can compete and are still being signed that’s on the organization to decide. Candace did it right though!
Cant really do a set age. .some age quicker or have more injuries. However a few seem to be not even close to their peak play ...maybe should retire or prepare to asap

My main point was having more leagues so there are more options for younger girls and the women making more money so they can retire or move to coaching, brands, or some sort of adjacent career that they enjoy! Just more options and money for all!
I really disagree about the age limit because some players can play at a high level and still be part of a WNBA team's rotation even if they are old like 30 or 40 something years old.

Lady Q + Miss Q not sure I can agree with you on Cardoso assessment. To me she plays smaller than 6'7" + has a introvert personality. Think she will struggle mightily unlike Angel.
No way, if she plays how she does in FIBA she will be good. When I watch her play during FIBA with Brazil she actually uses post moves 😂 I think she will do fine and her height is enough to deter some shots and grab upwards of 8 rebounds per game
@@audriwilliams7943Spot on, thank you for enlightening the chat. The reason she dominated like that in FIBA is because of the officiating. The officiating is horrible in the NCAA and it didn’t allow her physically to come through so she was forced to adjust. She will also benefit from the defensive 3 second rule in the WNBA I would imagine.
@audriwilliams7943 you're kinda making my point. . she is comfy there in Nat'l team where she been for yearsp. Coach Staley said she is extremely introverted and you have to pull words out of her sometimes.. so asking for help--especially as a rook will be a challenge. Whereas Angel is just a sponge + a self starter.
Cardoso came on strong during tourney time but her szn averages were not impressive and she played A LOT. . even with South Carolina's depth. Which speaks to her lack of dominance. Angel gon do something to standout and make a difference. Sometimes Kamilla just tries to fit in and won't necessarily go out of her way to impose herself. She should get there eventually--which is her track record.. I just know traditional BiGs are typically the hardest position to find footing at the next level. Almost need a super mean streak as a BiG to come in and dominate off the bat. But she runs the floor quite well which is a MAJOR positive to get her going.
I definitely agree with you for her height she is not dominant. Also she turned up for the tournament but was mediocre during the regular season. I hope she shows up because I know Angel has that dawg in her even though she is shorter!
@niviathomas1554 my thoughts.. people evaluated Cardoso's measurables + a small 5 game sample size. *Angel is the steal of the draft.* T Spoon comes from New Orleans and they used Point Zion--who was a pg up to HS kinda like Angel. If U see the #skytown post of Day 1 .. Angel is distributing + starting actions.
More need to take Candace lead, let the new talent come in. This is not a career you work until your 60s 😂

The Chicago Sky would be dumb to sit Angel Resse half or even most of the season. This take make absolutely no sense to me. Not everyone who cross over to professional sports struggle. Coming off the bench for a rookie isn't always the best strategy. Now if Angel struggles that's different. You do not get better or gain experience sitting on the bench. Hate to have y'all as coaches 😅
Angel Reese is a limited offensive player. This will get exploited at the pro level.
Clark can’t play a lick of defense! She’s definitely getting exposed on that end and she struggles with pressure defense when she doesn’t have a screen.
True but she can be developed; keep in mind she didn’t play her true position in university. One thing she has though is cachet! She brings attention and excitement to the sport. Chicago has to do a better job at capitalizing off of that.
She’ll be alright but needs to use more of her ball handling skills and learn to shoot to be a great player.
Social media has nothing to do with it. There are a lot of 6’4” players with better offensive skills in the “W”. How long will Chicago have to wait? Right now Angel is basically a role player.
