Since flanking strike doesn't do a lot of damage, especially with Lone Wolf, would it be better to just hold it until the last second of the buff, to keep stacks going if possible, versus spamming it whenever it is off cooldown?
Is it the case that Pets should be 2.0 Speed for PVE? When I first started building my Hunter it was all 'High attacks speed is the priority' so went and got a 1.2 speed Cat.
It's kind of pointless in my opinion, it'll just add a slight increase to your pet damage on flanking strike. As far as I know, pet damage is normalized so fast or slow doesn't matter much.
It doesn’t matter really just have fun, the dps is the same since they are normalised, so 2.0 does the same dps as 1.2. If you play melee weaving with flanking strike the 2.0 does marginally more damage, if you play just ranged with Kill Command a 1.2 does slightly more damage. It’s so marginal that it doesn’t matter at all. Free yourself of the meta mindset and get any pet you want. Much more fun to get a pet you actually like and not the same as everyone.
Im sorry but i do not agree with a lot of this. First of all, for full survival why would you go carve instead of beast mastery on gloves. You literally never wanna use carve unless you absolutely have to because of flanking and raptor both being on cooldown (which rarely happends). No way you wanna lose 20 % extra damage and 30% pet focus for a 6 sec cooldown that does 50%weapon damage ( thst you only rarely wanna use). If you really wanna use carve you should go lonewolf. Also if you go full survival i would def. Use lonewolf since thats gonna make your increased crits from raptor even bigger (im ready to take the L on that if thats not true). If you really wanna use pet, just go survival until savage strike and then go full BM. With the incoming nerf i do think lion is gonna be way more attractive, (even for for full survival with pet) but on the other hand a lot of our gnomeregan gear doesnt scale with lion. But lone wolf does.
