Jay. Next time you need to pull hardie board Use a wrecking claw. They’re meant for ripping deck boards but do great for shower/hardie board demo.

Fantastic job, Team Jay, a rural vibe if ever there was one. The Evolve stone looks great, I was impressed with it when Jaime and Erik used it. The mantles look as if they've beeb there for years. All in all a good project. Stay safe and well 🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨 We have 4 adults, 8 dogs and 3 cats in our house on the side of a mountain in West Wales, UK. Never a dull moment 😂😅

Too bad you didn't drill 3/8th rods into your studs, then corresponding holes in the mantle. Then it would be floating but secure. But regardless, that came out absolutely beautiful!

I don't know if you've seen those spray can mixers like the MixKwik that attach to a reciprocating saw, but it would be a great idea for the manufacturer of that tintable caulk to consider making one that's sized to the diameter of the caulk tubes.

Yeah, you remind me of me when I was your age I would try anything sometimes it work out for me. Sometimes it wouldn’t but I love the way you do things at least you got a friend to go to to get what you need and get the help you need I didn’t have that prerogative, but I’ll tell you something. I’m proud of you as far as the wall is concerned with the holes in it just sand them down a little bit put a little mud on them but dry sand them down again and paint that section if you still have any paint left from the old times, but it is gonna change in color, so I wish you the best. Looks good man. I like the two mantels. Only thing I personally would of done differently is I would of stoned that whole wall and butted tight to the trim everywhere. But ya, 100% of a improvement. I also know the grind of coming home to work on your own house as I’m a finish carpenter. It’s pretty much the last thing you want to do after doing it all day long.
