I won’t live in a building who’s floors depend solely on rebar to hold them up, as that rebar is highly vulnerable to corrosion, especially in a building that sits next to the beach. It only takes one column to be lost and the building becomes extremely vulnerable to collapse, because a reenforced concrete floor can’t withstand the bending forces that it becomes subject to if a column is missing. It takes a steel skeleton to safely transfer the weight above from a missing column to other columns nearby. Unless the building is using post tension concrete construction.
