Pathar Sahib Gurudwara Visit and Full History in Hindi | Leh-Ladakh Road Trip 2023 Day 7 Part 1

Join me on Day 7 of my thrilling Leh-Ladakh road trip in 2023, as I embark on a spiritual journey to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib.
According to legend, Guru Nanak Dev Ji arrived at this location during his second journey in 1517. After delivering his sermons in the Himalayan regions, Guru Nanak Dev Ji traveled here via Yarkand, following visits to Nepal, Sikkim, and Tibet. On a neighboring hill, a ruthless demon terrorized the local populace, instilling fear through his cruel actions. Upon hearing the distress of the afflicted, Guru Ji arrived at this sacred spot, bringing hope and solace to the beleaguered community.
The sight of Guru Ji alleviated the fears of the people, yet it kindled the demon's wrath. Enraged by Guru Ji's presence, the demon devised a nefarious plan to eliminate him. One fateful day, as Guru Ji immersed himself in profound worship, the demon hurled a massive stone (Pathar) with the intent to crush him. However, divine intervention thwarted the demon's malevolent intentions. Miraculously, upon contact with Guru Ji, the formidable stone transformed into a malleable substance resembling wax, ensnaring Guru Ji but failing to disrupt his worship.
Confident in his perceived victory, the demon descended to inspect the aftermath. To his astonishment, Guru Ji remained unharmed. Enraged and humbled, the demon attempted to dislodge the stone with a forceful kick, only to find his leg ensnared by the same miraculous wax-like substance. Recognizing his folly in attempting harm upon a revered devotee, the demon prostrated himself before Guru Ji, seeking forgiveness. In his benevolence, Guru Ji urged the demon to dedicate his remaining days to serving humanity, promising spiritual redemption in return. Accepting Guru Ji's counsel, the demon renounced his malevolent ways and embraced a life of peace.
Subsequently, Guru Ji proceeded to Kashmir via Kargil, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, miracles, and spiritual enlightenment. Today, visitors to Gurudwara Pathar Sahib can witness the revered stone that encapsulates this divine episode. Maintained by Sikh personnel from the Indian Army, the gurudwara transcends religious boundaries, welcoming devotees from diverse faiths seeking the blessings and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
