Port William:
Port William is a fishing village in the parish of Mochrum in the historical county of Wigtownshire, Dumfries and Galloway, in Scotland with a population of approximately 460.
Location:
The village is on the coast of Luce Bay in Galloway and is situated between the small villages of Elrig and Mochrum to the north and Monreith to the south. It looks towards the Mull of Galloway (the most southerly point of the Scottish mainland), on a clear day both Ireland and The Isle of Man (lying only 20 miles (32.2 km) to the south across the Irish Sea) are clearly visible.
Port William lies 63.4 miles (102 km) west of Dumfries, 23 miles (37 km) east of Stranraer and 98.6 miles (158.7 km) south of Glasgow.
