Hi! I just want to clarify that I just have been having some fun seeing a different type of beauty styles/ideas which are shown I guess heavily on UA-cam! I am not trying to box anyone into a category that they don't fit into. I think that like I said, confidence, is truly the most appealing thing to me (which mostly has nothing to do with makeup) the rest of this is just for fun and trying out a different style. I know that not every single womxn from a country goes around looking exactly the same and I'm sorry if you think I'm pushing that narrative!
I'm French and Vogue Paris is actually made to entertain Americans by maintaining the cliché French mystique (that happens to be a Parisian mystique) according to which French women are all natural and ''effortlessly chic'' ; but ''being a French woman'' or ''having the Parisian style'' is actually being like every other girl, and this thing of being all done up in one's make up and having a full glam face is really common in France :) anyway, great video and love from France!!
Yes, thank you ! I'm both fascinated and tired of the vogue paris themed videos. It's a very entertaining cliché, but it's not accurate. A very good journalist wrote a book about it. "Je ne suis pas parisienne" by Alice Pfeiffer. It's about the parisian girl cliché and how it's about literally no one, not even the girls on the front page. It's a very good book ! Loved your video anyway. It's effortless but because you are confident. That's the only thing that matters to me.
@@nathaliechollet386 I think that it's more so the idea of confidence that I find intriguing which I tried to convey in the video. The rest is just me trying out a different look for fun but understand that it's not all like this! Thanks for you input!
From my years in Paris, Ive learned you gotta get the Thermal Water Spray + most people use skin care products from the pharmacy (La Roche Posay, Avène, etc.) which are higher quality than the average skin care products at our pharmacies in the US like CVS. Swear I haven’t broken out in years since doing this lil upgrade ♥️
Damon Dominique also the nuxe huile prodigeuse has been my holy grail product for 5 years now; and turning my family onto it too ! ❣️ also found in drugstores, this is a super oil we use on our face, bodies and in our hair and it smells like you’re sitting in a field of flowers, so amazing
always so funny to see how people from the u.s are fascinated by french, I literally never wear red lipstick ahah and are we effortlessly beautiful? more than other women? I doubt that ahah us, girls, are all beauty 🌼
I find this perception of French women so weird because it’s always about skinny white French women and not the thousands of French women of color, and this whole notion of “effortlessly beautiful” all whilst making an effort to be effortless is so interesting
Linda Bhati thank you: I' m a french black woman and non skinny. I absolutely don't recognise myself on those stéréotypes of "french girl" or worse: "La parisienne".
I feel like glossier gen g in zip would be perfect for this vibe! like you can put it on without a mirror and it looks super effortless but it’s still a bright red color. I always want to play with color but don’t wear a lot of other makeup and feel like bold lipstick can look out of place on me but it’s like an everyday red I love it ✨
Loved the video, you slayed it ! As a French person I totally agree with what you said, in France a lot of woman prefer a “light makeup “ over a full glam face ❤️ I would say that we like embracing our imperfections (like we don’t do heavy contouring or a ton of fondation ). I’m glad you like my country 🥰 I discovered you last year and you improved so much ! I really like the “New York” vibes of your channel ! Please never stop making video ❤️
I'm french and I love your videos! Your style, very natural in general is near the effortless French make up! I'm personally inspired by your fashion and make up style pretty often! Keep going 💕✨
We have same features and dark almost black hair and you are right our brows are siper dark in a bad way if we use the wrong colors, trimming them helps a lot. And I feel like it’s hard sometimes to pull a bright red be ause we look to glam or like we did a lot but we didn’t.
I remember you did an everyday makeup routine sort of inspired by Vogue a while ago. I think you even wore a white robe. Hahaaa. You should def make these Vogue inspired vids a regular thing! If you’d want to of course. I really enjoy them!
Hello, I'm Parisian and I only use a serum, a moisturiser and a full red lip. No foundation or concealer whatsoever ;-) Loving your content by the way!!
love the idea! you should try putting on lip liner and then smudging it a bit so your lip shape is defined while still keeping that kissed lip effect, and maybe finding a more mauve tone that matches your skin and live tone while still keeping a more punchy color. Also try asking for a hair cut that keeps your lengths looking nice and full!
Thanks for mentioning the glossier Superdew. I feel like everyone talks about looking 'dewy,' but I keep missing THE product all the shiny happy people use! Canadian prairie winters can be super harsh, so merci, merci, merci!
This video came at a perfect time for me! I’ve been playing with the idea of less makeup and taking the French tip of a bold lip and nothing too flashy on the rest of the face. I love it :))
I ve been following you for years now and damn girl was I waiting for this kind of video. So nice to see you having fun with makeup and you totally get the french vibe ! Bisous de France :)
I'm a french girl and my makeup is mascara and red lipstick, but a lot of girls don't do that and use a lot of products...anyway, I've really loved your video, it was cute 😊
Your hair is absolute goals. Do you have a link for your stylist? I'm in NYC and have been really hoping to transition more into a shag and I feel like it's so hard to find stylists for wavy hair! Love the French vibes, looks great on you!
I recently discovered this Spotify playlist ‘Parisian Chic’ and now whenever I get ready, I feel like the French woman I’m destined to be (French husband where u @@@?) This reminds me I need to do a Rosetta Stone lesson ASAP 😅 Also...I never plug but I do have a little UA-cam channel with some cute montage(y) bits if anyone was interested 💕
Hi Jenny! I am really interested in trying out Class Pass, and just noticed you have a link for your first month free! Score! However, when I clicked on the link it is no longer a "free first month / 45 credits," but instead a deal for 21 credits for $9....unless I am doing this wrong...lol quite possible! Just wanted to let you know the link is different now? Thanks for continuing to hook us up with thoughtful deals, though! xo
hi jenny! I hope you are fine ? as you know i am french and i live in paris! I find that your tutorial is quite successful! It’s true that French people like to wear makeup naturally! but it is also sometimes necessary to have things in the second degree because it is true that the media do everything to enrich the cliché of Parisian and French beauty ! for example Jeanne Damas, built her image around the cliché of the Parisian but in real life we don't all live like that! It's more about her marketing image.. A French subsciber
Hi ! I’m french and even though your video is super nice and fun, I personnaly think that we have to be as we are and not trying to look like other girls or like others nationalities because we’ll be so so prettier if we wear for example makeup that correspond to ourself, I am not sure this comment is understadable but yeah 😂
I see you’re getting slightly negative comments to this video. I just wanted to say I really enjoyed the video and am really interested in this “French/Parisian” style too. Plus maybe you have to be naturally pretty to pull off the barely there makeup and red lip? Haha because idk if I pull it off but you definitely do!
Jeeeenny, hi! My sweet Angel 🥺 I’m sorry to bother you today, I just want to say I love you so much and your videos, u are such an inspiration for me and I always re watch your videos when I am sad, all of your friends and everything about you is so cool. Jenny 😭😭 help me to tell your friends, I remember the video with the song Easier by Damier, REMEBER? You were asking to vote however, Jenny this people only wanted money and whatever it is that they got from this. 😳🥺 Jenny, I love u and I promise I will never lie to you, with my heart,. They don’t love gays or trans or anyone. They just want their own agenda. Jenny, I love u so much, u are super cool and your style is cooler. ❤❤❤ REMEBER? Vintage Levi’s video is one of my favorites, I always show that video to my mom. 👽😭🥺🥺💕💕🤍🧸 Jenny, this people wants to destroy the US we need to do something 😢
Alissa D sure, if everything is “celebrated” or (fetishized, truly) to the same caliber as western European culture. But we know this is far from reality.
what is a french girl anyway? maybe we should stop this stereotypical-and-hegemonical-kind of beauty tag. Idk, I dont think is very inclusive and diverse in terms of famale beauty.
valentina rio true, but not everything is meant to be inclusive. I think it was quite entertaining and really enjoy this type of trend video, so it’s not for everybody to enjoy I guess (which is ok)
How do afford your lifestyle like do you have a side hustle cuz your YT vids don't get enough views to afford apartment rent in NY. No shade, just legitimately curious
I make enough money from YT/IG to support my rent and life in NYC. I’m not sure what else to say when you’re telling me it doesn’t :/ Because I know my income a bit better 💚 no shade.
I’m planning on making a budgeting video soon though if you are curious, I’ve been supporting my life since I was working in retail here full time as well so I’ll be sharing info on that as well on how I made things work.
A bit frustrated to see this kind of content from Jenny. Just another French wannabe mainstream trends following type. I hope she sticks to her own unique authentic style!
Well im french and i don’t relate at all i guess when they say french they mean parisian (big diff) and also to my knowledge most of us don’t wear any makeup or rarely (for people in their 20’s and in college anyway)

Lou-Anne Blanchard very true and im really tired of this narrative tbh. Its not the 1950s anymore we are way more diverse now 😅
Yeah I was thinking the same it's not the french girl but the parisian girl myhtology
