I know Allison was being sarcastic about Elizabeth Olsen being part of the Marvel Movies, but watching this and how the twins seem to just neglect her makes the plot to Wandavision that much more meta since she ends up creating a whole sitcom universe where eventually they create a Full House world.

5:38 - Well, I don't think their *parents* buy them anything they want. It's probably money due to their "entertainment" work.
I know it probably doesn't change the fact that someone probably goes out and gets them whatever. But that has to be weird for a kid to realize that they are the actual breadwinner, and success or failure hinges on them.
I think the Olson's can't comment on giving; not because they can get whatever they want, but because the people in their lives have only taken from them for as long as they can remember. It's never been an option for them. It's just been their lives.
The Olson's have always seemed kind of dead inside. I'd be dead inside too, if that were my existence.

Not gonna lie, "To Grandmother's House We Go" was a Christmas staple when I was growing up and I loved it. But looking at it as an adult, it's disturbing as fuck: Two little girls try to travel by themselves to their grandmother's and get kidnapped and held for ransom . . . and it's played up as a cutesy holiday movie for the whole family? What?!

Also, I don’t think either of them have held a broom in their entire lives before that exact moment...

To Grandmother's house we go was my favorite christmas thing when I was like 4 or 5. It did not age well over those two decades. I'm am deeply ashamed.
That is the only movie of theirs that I vaguely remember at all. Even with how badly dated this movie is, it is still better than much of their later works.

Never saw much of the Olsen twins TV and movie stuff so only heard of them second hand for the most part but holy shit lupa is right, I feel sorry for them now granted they didn't want for anything you could get with money but I feel like you can tell early on already they don't do it because they enjoy it, but rather likely because they were pressured into doing it.
I kept doing a double take every time you said Ben Cozie because that’s the same name of the dead security guard “twitcher” in the fountain of the mall in Zack Snyder’s Dawn of The Dead. So apparently DotD takes place in the MK & A Olson universe, The same universe where there is a tropical island in Lake Michigan the survivors escape to at the end

Him having so much fun playing with Sarah and Julie at the pizza place and wishing they'd had their own family was always my favorite part:) Even as a kid I knew everything that was going on in it and always felt proud of myself for never doing any of it;)

Using twins to play really young kids is pretty standard practice, since you can't work them very long. The Olsens' parents seem to be the only ones who capitalized on...the concept of twins existing.

Yeah I remember the last episode from Full House. That was almost the only episode I watched and I wondered how they made the girl who fell from the horse interact with herself. (I did not know they were twins)
Was Full House also the serie in which they played overly emotional music and had the camera zoom in every time they wanted to have a serious moment? That was probably so 90s sitcom, but I disliked it because it was so over done.

I would watch the shit out a movie that's just Godzilla 214, but instead of the MUTOs it's the Olsen twins, and they just follow Elizabeth Olsen's character everywhere and screech "BUTT OUT!" at her.
It's fun to make fun of the twins and their terrible movies, but *I hope people remember that they're children.* Their parents put them up to it. And they had no control over any of these films nor merch. *They're kids.*
And the experience of spending their entire youth on *this crap was enough to make them quit* TV, movies, and avoid the media *as adults.* I'm sure this experience is 100x more sickening to the twins than it is to any of the people mocking them in the comments.
You know, you're probably right. While it varies from state-to-state, many states have labor laws saying that minors may not work in entertainment without a permit. More likely than not, their parents weren't exactly doing this because it was their idea of good parenting.

@@Tareltonlives Jane Lloyd had personal mental issues that were aggravated by his career in movies. Meanwhile, Macaulay Culkin, Michael Jackson and Brooke Shields would have been perfectly normal had they not been abused for profit by their parents until they mentally broke.
Edward Furlong (John Connor in T2) also has some issues but he was way more independent, sleeping with his teacher when he was like 13, then marrying her later, and becoming an abusive alcoholic so much she got restraining order against him or something after divorce.

I don't remember being OBSESSED with the Olsen Twins (I never watched "Full House" or anything), but I did definitely BEG for a Mary-Kate Barbie and watched my movies more than once. But yeah, seeing you go over these just makes me feel awful for these kids. How many of these movies did they have to pump out? They probably never got to have a REAL party with REAL friends--or even solve any REAL make-believe mysteries--as kids because they were so busy having to sing hackneyed songs about cookies. Poor things. ):

I used to have a friend freaking obsessed with these movies, so I saw them all and forgot about them in like a year. the only one that really stands out in memory was the halloween one, for reasons I don't recall.
