    Great Vid - How do you tell if your cross over rings heights are set correctly - what are the symptoms if they are not and what are you looking for if they are correct.

    • @ShockTherapyllc
      @ShockTherapyllc  4 роки тому

      At ride height there should be an inch to an inch and a half gap from the divider to crossover up front, and about 2 in the rear. If they are too low your car will buck because the lower spring is engaging too soon

      Could you set it by being full out on the high speed. Then raise the rings until you get bottoming out. Then either bring in some high speed or begin to lower them again. ?

    Could you do a video while out testing a vehicle on the whoops? Show what you are looking for on the actual vehicle as you would when tuning. Maybe even show the settings too high and too low and how that would look.

    Is changing oil weight comparable in importance to other shock adjustments and springs with shocks with limited abilities like the walker velocitys?

  • @kevinwiller8051

    So If I understand this; My high speed compression is set to 11.5 clicks (I think there is 12 total) and the car still bottoms out then I need to adjust my cross over a little shorter? That way I could lower the compression because the main spring engages sooner?

    • @ShockTherapyllc

      Here is a baseline. Front HSC two turns. LSC one turn. Rebound 6 clicks
      Rear HSC 1 turn. LSC one turn. Rebound 12 clicks.
      All adjustments start all the way soft as zero turns and all the way hard as four turns.
      Adjust the HSC half a turn at a time stiffer to stop any bottoming out. Good luck

    I have another question. How do the QS3 shocks on my XRC compare to the shocks on an XDS. I know they have more adjustability, but are they a lot better? Can my QS3 shocks be as good after you do all your magic to them? We are thinking about getting a 2nd Maverick and thinking about the XDS mainly for the suspension. I will add power so Im not really to worried about the power difference. Thanks for these great informative videos.

  • @jasoncrome9123

    Have a question. I have a 2018 XRS. I have your spring kit on it but I’ve not done any calving yet. I took your advice and opened up all of the adjustments and I am tuning it with every ride. A place that I’m finding trouble is jumping. When I jump certain things I get the perfect takeoff and landing but sometimes I get a lot of rear, end kick or front and collapse on the takeoff which ends up being almost a nose dive to a head roll landing. Is this rebound? And rear end rebound?

    • @ShockTherapyllc
      @ShockTherapyllc  Рік тому

      It is actually a lot of things. It’s usually jump lip choice. But if it’s not the lip the it can be rear rebound too fast. Rear cross over too low. Front rebound too slow. Front compression too soft or front cross over too high. Make sure you are at least half throttle as you leave the ramp. 👍🏼

    Great video. Something you said got me thinking that I may ahve been doing something wrong. You said paddle pressure in the dunes to keep abou 10-12 or so. I have been keeping the pressure at about 6 ish on my paddles. Pretty much the same as I ran in my Liberty's. I have 32" paddles on a 210 HP X3. Should I have more pressure? Thanks

    • @ShockTherapyllc
      @ShockTherapyllc  4 роки тому

      8 Fifteen Off-Road yes most definitely. The big problem we see with low pressure like that is people will bottom their rim out, meaning the tire will flex to the point of the rim hitting the ground and it makes it feel like it’s bottoming out

  • @josephespinosa3439
    @josephespinosa3439 4 роки тому

    Quick question, when setting ride height, is there a difference between setting on a 72" to a 64" or do you try to achieve 16"-17" regardless of model. If so does the 64" suffer anything (regarding angles, more top heavy and such" since it's narrower.

    • @ShockTherapyllc
      @ShockTherapyllc  4 роки тому

      The 72 is taller and the 64 is lower. The reason is the width and the tire height. Our ground clearance numbers on the 64 are about 14.5-15". If you have taller tires this will get higher. You will have negative handling issues if you raise a 64 too tall.

    Hi, I have a 2019 RZR XP 4 Turbo, walker evans shocks. I weight 450 lbs and my passengers are 250 lbs and 175 lbs. i also have roof, bumpers, nerf bars and gear. Now my question is. Can i stay with my stock setup and have proper clearance. Because right now i am sitting at 10” unloaded and lower once I sit in it. If stock won’t do the trick will your springs do the trick. I contacted other conpanies and all said there heavy duty springs wouldn’t be enough for me. Also i do 80% trail riding and don’t jump. Maybe i would start jumping if I had the right setup

    Thanks for putting out all this great content over the past few weeks! It's been super interesting and informative!
    I'm trying to get my 2016 Rzr XP4 1000 set up a little better with what I have currently (hoping to upgrade to Shock Therapy DRS in the future). Stock Walker Evans shocks with stock valving and a Rzraid tender spring kit sitting on 31" tires with 5+2 wheels. Based on your instructions I'm thinking I should be at ~15" / 14.5" of ride height with me and my wife and all tools/cooler in the vehicle correct? I had to crank the preload rings down quite a bit to get it to that height; is there any downside or issues having them adjusted so far down? Any recommendations on starting point for the compression adjusters?

    • @ShockTherapyllc
      @ShockTherapyllc  4 роки тому +1

      Your ride heights are good. The issue is that just a tender spring isn't enough to get the ride heights without too much pre load. So, as your car starts to lower due to the stock lower springs, you won't be able to get your ride height back. A full spring kit will cure this when your ready. Start with all your compression adjusters soft and turn them stiffer two clicks at a time until the car does not bottom out any more. Then your good. Good luck.
