- Join us today as we review the new Longines Hydroconquest GMT Ref L3.790.4.06.6.
This is a brand new release from Longines, and it's stunning. This is the first time they release the Hydroconquest with a GMT function, and they have also done a series of tasteful updates. This model is essentially their flagship sports watch, and in the words of now retired Longines CEO Walter Von Känel, it's the best watch in the catalog.
The reference we're looking at here today has the deep green dial, gold dial markings, and steel case/bracelet.

I love what Longines has done here. I love that they went with circles at 6 and 9 instead of batons like the other markers. It makes this new line of GMT divers different for every other dive watch design out there. If you want to see what it'll look like if the circles are batons, look at the Christopher Ward C65 Dartmouth or the Orient Kamasu. I like that Longines was bold here, and by using dots, it's also giving a nod to the original Hydroconquest design, sans arabic numerals.
Looks much more mature without the 6 and the 9 indeed
I tried this new Hydro GMT at Longines store in London…the blue version is stunning! They heavily improved the overall watch quality and design, with a very clean shap and construction.
Absolutely agree.
I agree 😊
Longines is killing it recently with their full catalogue redesign. this GMT, Chrono, Zulu time no stopping them. This hydroconquest makes me consider selling by Tudor BB and I think that says something about the value we get here.
Absolutely, some really great offerings coming from Longines recently.
So happy they got rid of the polishing!! Can’t wait to see the regular divers and smaller sizes.
I just brought the same watch in green. Trust me I can’t keep my eyes off it ! Best decision 😊
Congrats man, great pickup
Got the brown dial version and it looks amazing on a brown leather NATO
I LOVE A GMT with a timing bezel! I wish more GMTs had this functionality. Truly a GADA watch.
Colours on this are really something else
This watch with the green canvas band is absolutely stunning
Looks like the love child of Rlx SubM and Omega SMP 300, in a good way, I mean. Kinda expecting chrono certified for the price hike, though. Tks for the vid, man.
Last year was Tudor's year, this year seems to be longines. Well done!
What's with the round markers at 6 and 9? What is the purpose? TO me it looks these shapes over complicate the visual appearance of the watch, as well as ruin the symmetry with the date at 3. Other than this, the watch looks amazing. I'm happy they refined the crown guards as well.
I do agree those markers are a little odd. It seems like they were trying to make the 6 and 9 distinct.
Love it
Nice congrats!
As a current owner of the Hydocongest 41mm blue dial, the tapering bracelet is also a must. It looks good...because they copied ques from the Rolex GMT master case which is not a bad thing because Rolex got it right in the first place.
San Martin just announced that they are developing a nice homage of this, but without the weird circular lume plots at 6 and 9, and without the scratch-attracting topside AR coating, but keeping bottom AR coating, and probably at a slightly smaller (more wearable) size but we'll see what they do.
That could be an interesting alternative. Cheers
Homage is The dog shit
I really love everything that has been done to the HC but I'm not sure if I'm ready to dish out an additional 1000€ for it. Hopefully they carry the update to the base model as well, without a price bump, that would be amazing.
Damn wish this was out when I bought my hydro conquest
I feel you man
Thanks for the review!
Anytime man!
The best dial color of longines
This is sleek. Kind of want to trade my omega SMP300 for this.
This one is so nice.
I’m really hoping to see this in 39mm. Which we know is coming… I love the new styling it’s
fantastic, really a knockout.😂
This is what I’m waiting for as well. Super impatient to see if 39 mm.
@@yentingchen I just love watches in the 36 -39mm for me my personal favourites.
@@elliotjc4612 Well I wouldn’t bet my life on it. When you say coming, it could be many months or years
Before you see them, They’ve done it with other models in there catalogue.
@@elliotjc4612 they did it with the spirit GMT and spirit date. Feels inevitable once they can figure out the packaging of the internals
@@elliotjc4612 well they just released the spirit Zulu time with the same movement at 39 mm. So it probably can be done.
I am trying to decide weather this or the Oris New York green mother of pearl is a better buy
Would love to see a blue and red bezel model.
Same here
I really like the color and the style. I like this one better than the hydro. How is the bracelet though? Only thing I´d change is date window position, I´d prefer it at 6 o`clock
I’d be curious to see the brown variation as well, gives a little bit of a rootbeer vibe from the photos. The bracelet seems fantastic, hefty and well finished.
Still want that thick Tudor with a date wheel issue and a crappy clasp 🤔
Tudor is trash 🚮 😂😂😂
Do you know if they release this watch in 38mm
Feel like i need a safety fold over and cosc for the price. I wonder if Certina will put out a DS diver GMT for 1/4 the price?!?
Mido for about half the price, and not as good with a lower grade movement and a rather basic case. So no.
pure perfection
Disappointing that you just glossed over the on the fly micro adjustment employed in the clasp. That’s a big deal. Especially in this price range.
You’re right, and I’m sorry about that. That is indeed a fantastic feature.
@@Watchreviewblog the rest of this hyper focused review was fantastic though!
@@wittech6116 thanks!
I like you are not political like most utubers who push certain brands😊
a mix of Rolex sub and Omega, not really anything original, nice, but the indices are odd to me with the circular 6 and 9, kind of jarring. This could have been great
You’re right, nothing too crazy but well executed.
Every watch looks like some other watch. There is nothing wrong with it. When you rate a watch is good to look for the craftsmanship and details and I think longines did well there.
I want that new bracelet for my L3.781
Do you know if is compatible?
Hey mate! Nice video. I'm just wondering how large your wrist is?
Thanks! I should have put this in the video. My wrist is 6.5 inches.
i had zulu times green but im not sure to take this or to get tudor BB GMT white dial
Same here actually. Also, I'm hoping for a Black Bay Pro with the GMT's white dial. This would be it imho
How is the accuracy of this watch?
I feel like the only reason they changed the circle and stick indices around was so it wouldn't look like a carbon copy of a Sub.
Great looking watch. The sides of the case should be polished. Especially on this green dial version. And yes. The clasp should be a bit thicker minus the push buttons.
I can't find the Lug-to-Lug dimension anywhere. Any idea?
49 or 49,5
This is a traveler GMT, correct?
Yes
21mm lugs. Longines does it again.
Does anyone know if this watch is COSC certified?
It is not.
Would have look even nicer if it has champers on the case.
Better than TAG AQUARACER 300?
I'm not sure how I feel about a sunburst dial on a diver. That's typically what you see on a dress watch. Very strange.
I have sunburst on my Formex Reef, which is a brutal diver.
What's the lug to lug measurement? Anything over 50mm and I gotta pass.
49 mm, but it wears smaller.
@@richardvanfrank8114 Ordered! It's on the way 👍
@@TalkingtoGod222 I think you will love it.
I just want it smaller
I'm glad they removed the arabics!👍
Did I miss the part where you tell us the size specs?
I’ve watched a handful of reviews of this watch, but not a single reviewer has mentioned the lug to lug size 🤔
He tooted them ?! Dirty man
The circles are driving me crazy, it just looks off and thats why I am not considering to buy it but other than that it looks amazing
If only it didn't had the round markers at 6 & 9, but rather rectangular ones, maybe little longer ones compared to the rest. These round batons do not fit the overall design.Otherwise this is nice watch for the price, but for me the Seiko GMT SPB381/383 is better, and it is cheaper by 1K USD.
This guy said when you finish your tapas
This comes across as a sponsored review. Saying stuff like "high quality materials", when the watch is made of bog-standard 316L, sapphire crystal and a ceramic bezel just comes across as a marketing check list. You can get all of these boxes checked on a $300 watch. Also claiming this channel is unique by evaluating brands on "heritage" is laughable. Review brands based on what they're making *today* rather than what they accomplished decades ago, then you will have something unique.
