  • It can be so overwhelming to figure out if your baby/toddler is meeting developmental milestones that they should be. This developmental milestone video will walk you through the doctor recommended and used Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3) for 14 month old babies so you can feel comfortable knowing exactly what is developmentally appropriate! This questionnaire is used in state programs around the country and is a great resource for new parents and seasoned parents alike! You'll also see how my own toddler stacks up currently with the questionnaire. (HINT: She isn't meeting them all and THAT IS COMPLETELY OKAY!)

As you can see, my daughter does not meet every single milestone just yet and that is completely okay! Every child is different and your baby might be "ahead" in one category but not yet ready for all the milestones in another. We'll be working on drawing and scribbling when she feels like doing it and I can't wait to watch her learn and grow! Is there a skill you saw that you want to work on with your baby/toddler?

Thank you so much! I want to always depict an honest run down of skills! There is no benefit as a parent to make other parents feel bad or “less than” and not being able to do a few things is TOTALLY okay!

I was actually worried , thinking my daughter is slow. But after watching this video, I am now convinced she's a bit advanced for her age development, because she can do almost all these activities with confidence. Thank you for the video and blessings to your growing family ❤

Walking is physical tho. Yeah the brains required. But the brain does lots of things & that's more like a sensory thing anyways. But when they're older is it lgonna be ike ok, so when did u start walking. Like no one cares. I highly doubt it's a sign of intelligence for future reference. I mean, have u seen some of these comments. These kids don't know better. Unfortunately adults r supposed to. It's almost like the equivalence to itty bitty t.committee. like Feel better now?

My baby is 14 months, she isn’t really saying words. But she was walking since 9 months. Now she’s climbing on the sofa, steps, and she knows how to get down. I get a little worried about her speech, but I guess all babies move at different places. She also knows the dances to certain songs and will do them when I sing.

He can throw basketball into hoop. He like play hid and seek. Mostly he like to throw things on the floor to hear different sound. I don't really know is that 13month milestone.

My daughter is the same way and also has separation anxiety but if she's around other kids she does real well so socializing in any way with cousins or friends kids even kids they hadn't met work .. is the best way too start.. this week I had a Easter party at my brother's normally my daughter shy and doesn't want mama and Dada out of her sight...but if kids are around we don't exist lmao 😂 🙃 the thing that sucks about this stage is you have the negitive Nancy's that say oh you need too socialize your kid more or take them out more like you hadn't done that at all separation anxiety is real and normal .. and a sign of a good heathy conection and a happy relationship with baby and parents .. yes you want them more independent but it's a process too get them outta that anxiety...I'm still working on my daughter ... if we are around just adults even ones she knows she gets very shy! And doesnt want too be held ..and I hear negative comments about my parenting by my parents and my husbands mother lol the only not so fun thing about being a mother is the ppl who think it's not separation anxiety and something your doing wrong...but I realized it's them feeling it by not trying too see her more or inviting us over more so she gets used too them they are offended they don't have the connection they want and it's a them problem not my fault at all..

My baby learned so many things from the show Ms Rachel. (The "for babies" episode. She learned how to say mama and papa and how to wave hi too. She is 14 months almost and she does almost everything the girl in the video does. According to research singing and reading helps a lot with babies learning new words. Other xs( bc she's so young), it's easy to over look what she's trying to say. & She knows the half half routine. I think she says ty, I love you, hi, hey, etc. Ive heard her woof at dogs but on her own. Her gestures & the way she keeps up w/ instructions & music,,, I've always thought she says mom but she shes been saying it way more frequently for when she wants to be dramatic & I'm only a couple of feet away from her.

It’s not a great idea to call items with a ‘baby sound’ for example calling water ‘wa wa’
Use the correct words for items when speaking to a young child. Then you don’t have to correct them to say the right word once they get talking.

    • @GinnyBeeEdD

My 14 month old acts like 3 year old. Says over 100 by now. Knows everything in the house. I constantly have to be watching out as he gets on chairs and tables. Dances like crazy 😂. Takes everything out. Hates diapers. Does not want to be feed only eats on his own. Climbs up and down the stairs. Reads books on his own pointing and mentioning animals and their sounds. As well, he knows where his hair ears, teeth nose and other body parts are. Getting him in the car is a battle as he just wants to be in the driver seat, pretending to drive and touching and turning all the buttons I see other babies act like babies my 14 month old acts like a grown child. I guess it’s good in a way, but it’s been a little sad to me. I never saw him act like a baby much, he began walking at 9 months. These are just some of the things coming out of my mind, but he acts so much like a grown child he way past all these milestones mentioned here which is why I am coming to see what’s considered normal at this stage. Your daughter is absolutely beautiful by the way! What a cutie..❤
