They modified the fan curve to be more tolerant of higher temperatures in the newer firmware. The noise will increase to previous levels as the unit heats up with a given load. It's just delaying the inevitable and may even reduce service life. It's a hardware issue that cannot be addressed with firmware. They used three rather poor 60mm fans in the unit. They sound annoying even at low RPM likely due to having ball bearings. They need to spin at high RPM to induce respectable CFM (airflow), which is why it sounds like a hair dryer. What they should have done is used two high quality 120mm or 140mm fans with fluid dynamic bearings. They would be nearly silent at low RPM and produce white noise at high RPM. They wouldn't have to spin too fast as they would produce much more CFM at the same RPM. Anyone who has ever built a quiet PC knows better. Maybe Anker did know better but decided to save a few bucks.
Yeah it's a shame, but not a massive dealbreaker for me. Under 1kW it is fairly quiet and I don't envisage using this very often at >1kW. Thanks for your great comment - you obviously know your stuff!
I cannot figure out how to get the Anker App to upload or install the Firmware Upgrade. How would I do that? Thanks for the videos! I'm on Wi-Fi, it's plugged into AC power.
Hey Mark. I'm trying to buy a 1kwh battery and torn between a ecoflow delta 2 for £540 (box damage) vs. waiting for this c1000 to drop in price. Is it worth the wait?
The Delta 2 is excellent value right now - you can't really go wrong with it although the fans are a bit loud on mine. I think for that price I'd go Ecoflow, but don't expect the world's greatest customer care from them.
How's the noise level when using it to power lighter items, i.e. charging phones, tablets, laptops? I do not plan on using it for heavy use items like space heaters, or electric griddles. Thanks
Thank you very much for the video! Do you know how does the sound in the new firmware compares to the Ecoflow Delta 2 by charging and discharging? Is the Anker louder or more annoying?
The noise is less than my Ecoflow Delta 2 was, but I cannot do a direct comparison as I sold my delta 2 about a year ago. Perhaps Ecoflow have also updated the firmware since then
The buzzing noise is unbearable even at lowest RPM. I have Anker 757, you can hear only the airflow at highest RPM with it. This is a massive step backward with that cheap fans and a useless device wherever you need a quiet operation at low RPM. We can't bear it our RV and I can't use it on the cinematography set at all.

This has been my experience as well. I received my C1000 this week.

As quiet as a mouse when it's not under load!

How come you sold the delta for the anker?
@@Manc_adventures I didn't sell the Delta for the Anker. I just sold the Delta as I wasn't using it. Still got my River 2 though!
for a 4 wslot toaster should you not use the 20 amp ac slot?
All the AC sockets are the same on the UK c1000
I just got mine in the mail 3-14-23 and it has firmware 1.3.2 and says its the latest update
Can't you just open up the unit and install some Noctua fans?
Stock fans are 60x60x15. Noctuas are 60x60x25 unfortunately

😂 they wont have fan noise issues if they would just use noctual fans.
Yup, it's not rocket science. Thing is, people ant these things cheap too. Can't have everything!
