Is the CARTEL ever an issue visiting Big Bend National Park?? some say yes especially NOW with the border crisis and everyone sneaking across easily. Just want to. make sure we'll be safe out there.
I’d ask the Rangers. You could probably call and find out or leave a message. The park rangers in my experience are good with returning calls. I’ve not been there in a few years so not sure what it looks like today.

I don’t see why this wouldn’t be any different than a van. I’ve slept in the back of my truck in the past without issue at National Parks.

Chisos Basin is much nicer/better.
